You can download it in e-Shop if you put/have any funds on your 3DS (and if you have enough room on your SD card).

And it's true! MK7's 3 star requirements are basically, "Get 1st every race and don't totally suck while doing it."

Nope. Not on MKDS anyway. It's super easy to get 3 stars on MKDS since you can dodge blue shells easily and reliably on 150cc, and there are no gliders.Ekaru wrote:

Meh... I haven't even heard of Blue Shell dodging till you guys told me about it, so needless to say, it took me a few tries to 3* everything.

Y'alls need to get on Skype this time, it's so much more fun and convenient actually being able to communicate while racing. I don't know how many things I didn't type out between races because I forgot about them.

I made the sc once by fluke. I was using the custom in the video--clown car, slick, super. I don't know if there's something special about its hitbox that allows it to work.
But at least I've gone through the paces of learning the RIW shortcut and cut about 10 seconds off my old time. (now 2:05:564)

But yeah, you need an extremely small kart for it to work. Anything bigger won't be able to fit. Not that many players with the skill level required to pull it off consistently use karts that small nowadays, and they aren't going to switch just for one course, so you won't see it very often. It should still be patched, but it's not going to ruin online or anything.
Do you have skype group for parties?
We want to get others to join us so we can rage at talk with each other while we play instead of having to type out the stuff.

After messing around with a voice changing program as well as Skype settings, I'm pretty sure I can make myself sound different now. Granted, it's not an "official" voice that I'll be sticking with, but expect the next Skype call to be awkward

So like, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed has this Swarm item. What it does is put a giant swam of wasps in front of 1st place. If 1st place is skilled then they can maneuver through the wasps but it's not easy. Furthermore, the wasps last for a certain amount of time so the racers close to 1st will also have to deal with the wasps.
...I wish this game had a similar item; it's actually a fucking brilliant item because it's fair, promotes skillful driving, and can still screw over 1st by timing the usage of it to be when it's hard to avoid.
Oh, and I want that game now. I'll probably be getting it for the PS3 whenever I get the $$. Supposedly it's the best Mario Kart alternative in over a decade.

I actually enjoyed the first S&SASR, so I was thinking about getting this one, too. Still, I probably won't get it right away.
I have the iOS S&SASR and I find the driving mechanics suck very much. The only good thing about it is how easy it is to snake (If not for the gyro controls anyway >____<)

I played the Wii version with a Classic Controller, so driving/snaking/drifting wasn't an issue for me.

Also, according to the reviews I've been reading they redid the physics and items. That seems to be part of the reason why the game's getting mainly positive reviews. There's a very good chance I'll pick it up tomorrow for the long weekend since I've always wanted to play as Tails in a racing game that wasn't garbage.

Posting just to take the 1000th reply in this thread. (Yes, that means Blaze took the 1000th post. Screw you D:)
Er, I mean, I got Sonic and All Stars Racing Transformed for the PS3 (no point in waiting for the 3DS version, really; I already have MK7 for on-the-go fun, so why not go for 42" HD fun?). I'll tell you how it is when I get home and can actually, you know, play it.
Time to go finish cramming for my Calc II test that is in like half an hour.

This is probably a massive "if": IF I were to get a Wii U, I'd probably get S&ASRT as my first game (since the NSMB games tend to be short and don't really have much replayability, especially if there's no one else around who'd play with you). Career Mode sounds interesting as well.

Well, you gotta wait for the Wii U version to get a patch anyways, unless you are willingly to not connect your console online until after you beat World Tour since an online update causes glitches.
