I won't make either Kartparties this week as I'm going out to the track. I probably won't make next week's either.
I've recently (if 1-2 months count as recent) been addicted to Super Mario 64 ROM hacks, and I'm currently trying to 100% playing a third one, so I may or may not forget today's kartparty.
UPDATE: I'll be eating out at McDonald's later, so if a kartparty is sill going on by then, I'll (re)join it; however, I won't be able to chat with you all.

I would've been "done" (entered the Hall of Fame) sooner if my sister wasn't here... There were only three people (including me) yesterday, but two of us weren't really in the mood to play, so we didn't have one.
I was feeling too sick last night to play. At least we had a good run in the alternate friday timeslot.

I played mushroom cup 50cc and it was too slow
so I went straight to 150cc and never looked back. I don't see how people can play on 50cc I actually enjoyed 50cc since the races actually felt longer, speed aside. (Don't ask me to explain that; it's just an unexplainable feeling of mine.)
I liked 50CC because I was almost guaranteed a three star rank

3*'ing only becomes an issue if you're constantly being raped by items and/or falling off the track. Other than that, just keep drifting, pulling off mini-turbos, and shortcut if you can (don't risk it if you think you won't make it) and you should be fine.

And it's true! MK7's 3 star requirements are basically, "Get 1st every race and don't totally suck while doing it."

Nope. Not on MKDS anyway. It's super easy to get 3 stars on MKDS since you can dodge blue shells easily and reliably on 150cc, and there are no gliders.Ekaru wrote:

I made the sc once by fluke. I was using the custom in the video--clown car, slick, super. I don't know if there's something special about its hitbox that allows it to work.
But at least I've gone through the paces of learning the RIW shortcut and cut about 10 seconds off my old time. (now 2:05:564)

But yeah, you need an extremely small kart for it to work. Anything bigger won't be able to fit. Not that many players with the skill level required to pull it off consistently use karts that small nowadays, and they aren't going to switch just for one course, so you won't see it very often. It should still be patched, but it's not going to ruin online or anything.
Do you have skype group for parties?
We want to get others to join us so we can rage at talk with each other while we play instead of having to type out the stuff.

After messing around with a voice changing program as well as Skype settings, I'm pretty sure I can make myself sound different now. Granted, it's not an "official" voice that I'll be sticking with, but expect the next Skype call to be awkward
