Better per-object hitsounding setting

To me, this wasn't really come in handy:


(this on the left side of screen while hitsound selection on the right side, wasn't really efficient)

Maybe like this? (a photoshopped concept of better view)


(mouse cursor hovers over Sampleset or Additions to show the options)

This could also work for Finish and Clap, of course.

Plus, switching reverse selection hotkey from Ctrl+R to Ctrl+G isn't really a good idea. Mappers who still don't know might leave their note switched hitsound from Auto to Drum.

but yeah, I guess that's better than the current way to do things. Many people don't like the keyboard shortcuts. If only I could assign them myself...

I think that the sample switchers are fine where they are. I don't want an extra click just to select samples and your mockup implies that a hitsound must be selected. Everybody should know how to set a hitsound, so the only problem at the moment is finding a way to have intuitive sample hotkeys, while still being able to revert Ctrl+R back to reverse.

As it is, QWER does the sample switches and that's currently the only way to map them without it being confusing. I'd say that ditching Q for Auto would be good, as QWE could then be mapped to normal, soft and finish. When used properly, per-object hitsounding won't stick to one sample for long, so it wouldn't be a chore to have the mapper set each sampleset manually.

Learn the shortcut keys and you'll never use the drop-downs again.

Ctrl-R is not returning to reverse; you will get used to it. Or I may add it to customisable bindings.

There are shortcuts available for sample switching but there's no shortcuts for sampleset/addition switching. What do you mean here?
