Thanks!
Navigate to osu!.app, then right click and click, "Show package contents". From here open Contents->Resources->drive_c->osu!->Songs. This is where you can put your beatmaps.

What OS do you have? (Mountain Lion? Lion? Snow Leopard?) X11 is installed on Snow Leopard and Lion, but was removed in Mountain Lion.
If you have Mountain Lion, you can download a community built version of X11 for Mountain Lion here -->(http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/Releases)
Although, there are no guarantees it'll run osu!, as I have never personally used it.

Edit : I have a problem, the fisrt time it worked but now when i click on osu there's nothing. I already installed X11 :(

Edit 2 : It works only when I restart my mac :/ And it can start only once.

You do not need to install X11.

I am aware of the issue where it stops working. I am working on a fix.

I have a problem with my mouse. I see that I'm not the only one... The cursor doesn't follow the mouse's movements. :S

I downloaded a song and pasted it in the folder songs. Now it is a new folder but when I play osu! I don't have this song! Only the tutorial songs. :(

It works for me on ML. You need to right click and choose open the first time to bypass gatekeeper.

Hello.

I can't play the game, almost everything seems to work, the app open very fast, then it updates and appears the osu! icon. And i think i can log in successfully.

But the app window always stays black and nothing happens.

I'm going to put some screenshots of the app running.

Hiya I want to move osu up but my mac menu is like blocking lol .
Then I cant access the menu options .
I tried using my mouse to shift osu up but it can only move left and right lol is there any way to solve it?

It works in OS X Lion (OS X 10.8) What you've to do:
1. Open the zip archive with Archive Utility
2.Run The Wineskin
3. Start Osu!

try refreshing it and keep spamming the refresh button which F5 and if it still doesn't know then try deleting the song and downloading it again and see if it works then

For some reason even after dragging it into the window, opening it with the window, or anything it still wont' let me play the beatmaps. I tried the beatmap itself and packs but nether work. I even tried hitting f5 but still won't work. Also it gives me an error saying something that it won't let let me open it cause like it won't be able to read it on this kind of window

I installed it onto my Mac (which has lion), and the WinePrefix folder doesn't exist in the Package Contents.

I managed to open one song my dragging the song in my downloads folder over Osu (which was also in the downloads folder), but I can't get another one to do the same.

Help?

I accidentally updated to OS X 10.7.5, and now osu! won't run anymore. I downloaded the latest Wineskin Winery version and I downloaded the latest engines there but osu! still crashes at the loading screen. Here http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-v ... ?postId=63 they say you have to update all your wrappers to 2.5.8, but I have no idea on how to do this because I don't understand anything of it. When I opened the new version of Wineskin it did ask to update something and I just clicked yes, so maybe the wrappers are updated, I don't know, but osu! still crashes at the loading screen.

I thought it was fixed already, though the program crashes in latest ver. of OS X.

I have a problem with importing; I have about 25 different songs, but only half of them will show up.
If I remove half of them the half left will show up, and vice versa with the other half but they all won't show up at the same time?

Help would be greatly appreciated

I can make my version of the game run perfectly, and I can add the songs with no problem, but for some reason there is no sound. Any ideas of how to fix this?

I can't find any way to replicate this error; what kind of Mac are you running and on what OS specifically?

I'm having a similar problem to everyone else on here in that when I start osu! up on my Mac running Mountain Lion. All I get is the preloader, which is just the pink circle and the white square around it. I've got the wineskin wrapper update 2.5.8 supposedly, and I've got the program that allows X11 stuff to run on Mountain Lion, but nothing is working. Can anyone help?

After installing OS X version 10.8.0, i couldn't open osu! anymore, it would just stay there as a pink circle.

Upgrading to OSX 10.8.2 was my mistake. the osu! updater works and after pressing "start osu" there is no response. the app is running but no main menu not even the osu logo appears :| I checked the and updates the versions of the Xquarts (X11). and wineskin etc I guess is off to getting a copy of windows 7 and boot camp.

I have a new package uploading now. Apologies for the delay; I have been pretty busy with other stuff. That said, anyone can fix these packages quite easily just by updating the wineskin engine and wrapper.

Expect a link in the next 12 hours.

just Downloaded the package and worked like a charm thanks a lot. Now on to some OSU!
update: Dragging the .osz files to the icon works but the song file is moved to the failed folder?! will try later later.

Continuously getting this kind of error. At least 'continue' button works, but this pop-up like thing appears too often, almost every attempt to do something, seriously.

Oh, and reading .osz file fails in here too. Manually unzipping and adding into song folder works.

The new download is working great, but I'm unable to import beatmaps into osu!.
I download the beatmap and it goes into the Failed file because it won't transfer properly for some reason.
I tried dragging the file into the songs folder, they didn't show up, then I tried dragging the file onto the application and the file wouldn't transfer.
Any advice?

Update: just looked carefully at the location where the .osz are supposed to be dragged to. it seems that the folder named "winePrefix" is missing for some reason. will this have any effect on the way the app handles the .osz files? is anyone else also missing this folder?

I'm not sure if it was fixed or not but, I took the old client (the one that doesn't work anymore) and updated the files from there. I took the files (Except music and skins) from "Osu!" and pasted them into the newer version. It working atm for me.

I have successfully installed OSU mac, but it will always get stuck when the upgrade comes out, what happened? I have already reinstalled for 3 times.

When I want to play osu in school, I don't have internet connection, so I can't open it, is that only my problem?
Is there any way to fix this? I'm stuck on the updating screen, and then a error window pops up.

Just Downloaded the new version and is running fine. beatmaps are now installing correctly. please note that if you decide to go into full screen mode and then go back to a smaller window the app will crash (or at least for me) .

nevermind, it works. the problem was probably another game who also uses x11 and it's a little glitchy.
it still fails to load some beatmaps but it's a lot better than before (30 before - 4 now)

This version works for me, though there were 2 failed attempts to start. I opened console.app and reopened osu! and somehow it was successfully launched, lol.

EDIT:
Somehow the cursor disappears when I open 'Online User' display.

EDIT2:
Oh god, osu! stopped to work.

Oh well, I also wanted to provide error message I got but different situation so I don't know what is the real problem. First 2 attempts to run osu! failed with windows-styled error message that can be seen when program crashes in Windows. 3rd attempt to run osu! was successful, but when I tried to import map, it stopped work. After that, running osu! immediately fails, without any kind of error message. At least I can gather something in console.app this time.

With 5 attempts to run osu!, this is all I got now. Much more messages were present in previous attempts though. I'll redl osu! and retry.

EDIT:
Redled and reinstalled but still, running osu! immediately fails. I think I should retry later...

one more thing i noticed:
the fps option is 60 fps only, i can change it to unlimited or 125 but the fps are still blocked at 60fps. before the ios update problem i used to have 400 fps but now, using the same settings as before, my 60 fps drops to 30 for a simple flash or distortion (which makes the game less smooth). any idea ?

Try running in proper full screen mode (make sure the fullscreen box is ticked).

EDIT2: This time, osu! works fine, though still some issues remain.

EDIT3: Oct. 29th: Running osu! always fails with the first attempt after rebooting. since second attempt it works well.

Alright, tried opening osu! after a while of not playing it, the updater opened and updated, tried to play, nothing would happen. So I re-downloaded osu!, now my Mac says that it doesn't recognize the disk image, so I can't do anything now. I'm running osx Lion, if that helps at all. My software is 10.7.5 please help!! I love osu! and I want to play it more!!

It seems to be having problems when loading .png images. If it's a background, it says "error when loading file" and if it's a skin, it creates one correctly then goes back to default

I am not seeing any issues with loading .png files. Please provide more details.

Whenever I try to load a map with a .png for the background, a red box pops up at the bottom-right corner of the screen saying "An error occurred when adding this file". The skin loads one note correctly before going back to the default skin with some missing graphics. I am running an early 2011 Macbook Pro with 10.7.5 if that helps. I checked the console and didn't find any messages relating to this issue. Is there another place where I can check for errors?

the app crashes when a beatmap uses a different skin. or using other skins than the default.

i have the same problem with the skins and png, but i also noticed that i can't add any new beatmap: for some of these i get the red square with the text "can't load beatmap (in my case all the U.N. owen was her by zun yuu and another one). trying to move to failed folder" for the latest one i downloaded it acts like they just don't exists.

I just tried downloading with a different browser, and it works fine now. I also tried changing my wine prefix, whatever that is, and I don't know if that helped or anything. But I've got it working now, hope it works for the rest of everybody that is having this problem!

Hi peppy! I'm using your latest version of osu! for mac.
I can't tell you how happy i'm when i see osu! runing on my retina macbook pro.
But the fps is limited to 60(and it works perfect at 60).But I can't get used to it anyway.
I 've tried options in game but it dosen't work.
And the mouse's movement is so wired.

Mouse movement being weird, and frame rate being limited is something that is unavoidable in OS X. The input latency on OS X and general mouse acceleration curve is inherently bad.

Hi peppy, I have a problem running Osu! Everytime I open it up, after the update screen, i click the "start osu!' button and then nothing happens. I waited for about 20 minutes and nothing happened, so i rebooted osu! and the same thing happened. Help Please.

This is the second time this has happened that my osu just suddenly stops working, I click to open it the light appears and it bounces one on the dock h=then just turns off the light then just goes back as though I never tried to start it

I've seen that site. They have promiosed the fix for many months and have yet to present anything tangible. I don't have any faith in the short-term - especially as they are looking to commercialise on it.
