Wooow for OS X! Thanks!!!!

I can't find the 'songs' folder. I have a MacBook Pro from 2011.
I'm probably sounding like an idiot but I just can't find it.
This is what it looks like. (I was trying to follow the, um, example in the beginning.)

From this folder go to drive_c/osu!/Songs

osu!direct doesn;t work for me on my Macbook Pro D;. I can't even download new songs either.

Yes, you can!
All you have to do is locate inside the osu!.app these folders:

~/osu!/Contents/Resources/dosdevices/c//osu!/Songs

Just place your copy of the your .mp3 song in there, refresh your game a couple of times, go on Edit Mode, and it should work.

It's not working for me at all I add the MP3 to the songs folder and it doesn't work. I refresh the game 50 times and nothing happens. I restart osu! and nothing happens. I look in the folder and the file has disappeared.

EDIT : Nevermind, I got it working

I'm having success running it on my updated MacBook Pro(with Snow Leopard), though it does seem to lag a little bit when playing the songs. Thank you for creating this! It may be lagging, but it's better than nothing at all!

Make sure you set graphic options through settings and to try flicking the Frame Limiter option to see if that changes things any.

I play it on my Macbook too, and for people who can't get new Songs:
Try to delete a song, it always works for me. I download the songs, move them to the right folder,
start the game, close it and then delete a song. After that it works. Its pretty stupid and annyoing so I don't play
often on my mac, but this might be useful for you ;w;

Playing right now on my Mac OS X Lion, and it seems to have some mouse lag, nothing too bad, but definitely not the best. It may be my computer, but just thought I'd put this input in. Maybe just putting a lot of pressure on the computer!

Hit F5 at song select twice, and it should be better.

Tried changing the frame limiter options?

Yeah I lowered the framerate, it works better but still has those issues sometimes when moving from one side of the screen to the other, but most likely just a mouse issue in general Thanks for the input~

Not so stable with Mountain lion. My osu mac ver just stopped functioning.

Please check Console.app for any error messages in the case it isn't working. It works fine for me on ML.

I have a mac and a PC, if I log into the mac, none of my Beatmaps get transferred; do I have to download them all again (and trust me, there are a lot of them) or is there any way for me to get them?

Hmm, which message will help me to find out what is the problem?

yeah you're going to have to redownload them all over again

Or you can copy the Songs folder from osu! on your PC to osu! on your Mac.

I get occasional crashes on ML, but overall it doesn't work worse than on Lion.

When I play Osu a single time, my Mountain Lion works fine. But I have a problem:

I go out of Osu (with the Exit-Button) and in the most times I can't start Osu again. Than come a window, that Osu was stopped unexpectedly.

Normally I have to restart my Mac to play Osu.

What can I do?

Hey im having problems putting in the beatmaps into osu i tried putting it into the song folder and draging it to the uso app but when i open osu the maps are not there i keep refreshing osu and putting other beatmaps but it doent let me play the maps i dragged into osu help please? :C

wait X11 isn't required anymore because every time i open osu on my mac X11 pops back up

Well, hard to say but my mouse, not 1 but 3 mouse have a problem when playing or inside the game, it keep on slowing down and suddenly stop for a few seconds, make me impossible to play. Any suggestion ? P/s: I'm using 2 normal with wire mice and an apple wireless

I was just about to ask this very question. I also noticed that on my computer (2008 MacBook running Snow Leopard) when I click on something on the screen, the cursor will move just a little bit. Rapid clicking makes it jump even more, to the point when the cursor is going completely off screen, meaning I have to use the keyboard to play. Not sure if this is something only I'm experiencing, or if other people have the same issue.

How exactly am i supposed to install X11? because everyone is saying if it isnt installed it wont work...mine wont open even after 30 minutes so what do i do? i have wineskin downloaded on my computer but...help?

Navigate to osu!.app, then right click and click, "Show package contents". From here open Contents->Resources->drive_c->osu!->Songs. This is where you can put your beatmaps.

What OS do you have? (Mountain Lion? Lion? Snow Leopard?) X11 is installed on Snow Leopard and Lion, but was removed in Mountain Lion.
If you have Mountain Lion, you can download a community built version of X11 for Mountain Lion here -->(http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/Releases)
Although, there are no guarantees it'll run osu!, as I have never personally used it.

You do not need to install X11.

I downloaded a song and pasted it in the folder songs. Now it is a new folder but when I play osu! I don't have this song! Only the tutorial songs.

I'm trying to open but nothing happens. Does this support the New Mac OS X (Mountain Lion) Version 10.8?

It works for me on ML. You need to right click and choose open the first time to bypass gatekeeper.

I can't play the game, almost everything seems to work, the app open very fast, then it updates and appears the osu! icon. And i think i can log in successfully.

But the app window always stays black and nothing happens.

Hiya I want to move osu up but my mac menu is like blocking lol .
Then I cant access the menu options .
I tried using my mouse to shift osu up but it can only move left and right lol is there any way to solve it?

It works in OS X Lion (OS X 10.8) What you've to do:
1. Open the zip archive with Archive Utility
2.Run The Wineskin
3. Start Osu!

try refreshing it and keep spamming the refresh button which F5 and if it still doesn't know then try deleting the song and downloading it again and see if it works then

Some .osz files showed in the song selection..but the others are not...Please Help what to do

For some reason even after dragging it into the window, opening it with the window, or anything it still wont' let me play the beatmaps. I tried the beatmap itself and packs but nether work. I even tried hitting f5 but still won't work. Also it gives me an error saying something that it won't let let me open it cause like it won't be able to read it on this kind of window

I installed it onto my Mac (which has lion), and the WinePrefix folder doesn't exist in the Package Contents.

I managed to open one song my dragging the song in my downloads folder over Osu (which was also in the downloads folder), but I can't get another one to do the same.

Is there a fix for this very weird font issue that cuts off the end of every sentence ingame?

I accidentally updated to OS X 10.7.5, and now osu! won't run anymore. I downloaded the latest Wineskin Winery version and I downloaded the latest engines there but osu! still crashes at the loading screen. Here http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-v ... ?postId=63 they say you have to update all your wrappers to 2.5.8, but I have no idea on how to do this because I don't understand anything of it. When I opened the new version of Wineskin it did ask to update something and I just clicked yes, so maybe the wrappers are updated, I don't know, but osu! still crashes at the loading screen.

I have a problem with importing; I have about 25 different songs, but only half of them will show up.
If I remove half of them the half left will show up, and vice versa with the other half but they all won't show up at the same time?

I can't find any way to replicate this error; what kind of Mac are you running and on what OS specifically?

I have a MacBook Pro 13 inches, with iOS version 10.7.4

I'm having a similar problem to everyone else on here in that when I start osu! up on my Mac running Mountain Lion. All I get is the preloader, which is just the pink circle and the white square around it. I've got the wineskin wrapper update 2.5.8 supposedly, and I've got the program that allows X11 stuff to run on Mountain Lion, but nothing is working. Can anyone help?

After installing OS X version 10.8.0, i couldn't open osu! anymore, it would just stay there as a pink circle.

Upgrading to OSX 10.8.2 was my mistake. the osu! updater works and after pressing "start osu" there is no response. the app is running but no main menu not even the osu logo appears I checked the and updates the versions of the Xquarts (X11). and wineskin etc I guess is off to getting a copy of windows 7 and boot camp.

I have a new package uploading now. Apologies for the delay; I have been pretty busy with other stuff. That said, anyone can fix these packages quite easily just by updating the wineskin engine and wrapper.

Expect a link in the next 12 hours.

update: Dragging the .osz files to the icon works but the song file is moved to the failed folder?! will try later later.

I did test with a few osz files and it *seemed* to work correctly.

Continuously getting this kind of error. At least 'continue' button works, but this pop-up like thing appears too often, almost every attempt to do something, seriously.

EDIT:
Oh, and reading .osz file fails in here too. Manually unzipping and adding into song folder works.

The new download is working great, but I'm unable to import beatmaps into osu!.
I download the beatmap and it goes into the Failed file because it won't transfer properly for some reason.
I tried dragging the file into the songs folder, they didn't show up, then I tried dragging the file onto the application and the file wouldn't transfer.
Any advice?

Yup, also having this problem.

My Osu! can't update :/ it opens the update window but it immediately crashes. Does anybody have the same problem ?

I'm not sure if it was fixed or not but, I took the old client (the one that doesn't work anymore) and updated the files from there. I took the files (Except music and skins) from "Osu!" and pasted them into the newer version. It working atm for me.

I have successfully installed OSU mac, but it will always get stuck when the upgrade comes out, what happened? I have already reinstalled for 3 times.

I'm working on these issues but it may take a day or two. Hang in there.
