This coming from a person with a Rena avatar can only be considered fanboy-ism, and not constructive criticism. Also, abusive ad-hominem is so not cool.Accelerator-kun wrote:

Well, seeing the person who made that statement did not provide any reason to it... Then, we cannot figure out the true meaning behind it. The "rejection" of the "hatred" is just a way of getting him to talk about his reason.[iO] wrote:
I don't think a reason of weight is needed to dislike a character... If someone dislikes Rena it doesn't mean that person didn't get the depth of the character, they just dislike her.
Actually, this is where you're wrong. You cannot exactly call a person "fanboy-ish" unless you have strong evidence to prove so. By evidence, I mean his recent actions towards the matter of the problem.[iO] wrote:

Actually, that's less level-headed than it sounds. It's like fighting fire with fire; a reason-less/subjective comment cannot be used to reply to another reason-less/subjective comment.[iO] wrote:
Accelerator-kun is married to Rena, and by no means he addressed the dislike zanyh has for Rena itself, a simple "why do you dislike her? She's kawaii" would have been the level headed thing to do.
Actually, you're kinda right there. Someone who knows the series well would find it hard to hate Rena, unless that person has a reason that I could not think of. Rena's character isn't exactly made to be hated for; she seems like a normal (typical) schoolgirl to me.[iO] wrote:
Rather, he chose to belittle the person who made the comment, by claiming that their dislike was due to ignorance, almost implying that to someone who actually knows the series well hating Rena would be inconceivable. I don't think I was quick to judge.
Aww, am I? Thank you.[iO] wrote:
It's cute that you defend your friend though, and I have no ill intent whatsoever by saying this.
Um, no offense or anything, but aren't you paying a little too much attention to Accel-kun? Besides, the people we're talking about aren't here, after all.[iO] wrote:
To be quite honest, I find it entertaining to politely (or not so much) discuss matters of taste, and see each-other's point of view. What made me voice my, lets call it discomfort, towards Axel's comment was that he wasn't arguing about tastes, just making a passive-agressive attack to a detractor of his favourite character (and bride).
As I said in my first post, sometimes there's no reason to dislike something, you just do. To be sneaky, and call someone ignorant for not liking something you like is, at the very least, mean; and a common practice of fanboys.
That means more need of explanation, right? He could have said "I don't like Rena, she's annoying" or some sort. That would've been much better than a simple "I don't like" sentence.[iO] wrote:
For all we know zanyh could dislike Rena's hair, clothes, seiyu... basically, an unlimited quantity of things. Knowing or not knowing Rena's background is of no consequence, that's all I meant.
I'm fine if you don't remember my birthday. Heck, I don't even care.[iO] wrote:

Aww, I'm touched.[iO] wrote:
Maybe so, no offense taken, I'm actually bored and since you were answering in your friend's regard I didn't felt like stopping the conversation mid-way, I'm being entertained, in a way, I'm paying attention to you, not him.
Well, sorry but after that I want to say my words, also this is a forum, made for talking... no?-hys wrote:

We're not bullying the guy, we're just trying to get his reason or hating her.Dulcet wrote:
What was that all about? Leave the poor guy alone, he probably had a good reason to hate Rena.
Even you actually have a reason to hate a character. And you stated it clearly.Dulcet wrote:
Anyway, I watched the first season of Strike Witches and I never felt so much hatred for a character until I saw Perrine.
Perrine is stuck up and the only thing she did throughout the series was complaining about every single thing. Is it supposed to be a comic relief? It wasn't for me, it only made me cringe.
Apparently, lots of people do.[iO] wrote:
You're in an Otaku Culture forum, discussing this sort of stuff, that's what the forum was made for and what you're doing. I see nothing weird.
Then, if I will defend another character I will be another fanboy?[iO] wrote:

A lot of people didn't state their reasons and yet you didn't made a huge deal about it, but when someone mentions Rena everyone is like "omg why ;__;". I don't understand that. Anyway, that's not important. Carry on.The Ribbon Red wrote:

Because it's a forum, and it's not only Rena, it's whoever you hate and we like.Dulcet wrote:

That sums it up pretty well "Don't hate what I like, or else!". In any regard, I'm done defending a guy who isn't defending himself, I'm just a tad too knight-ish to be good. As Dulcet said, carry on.Accelerator-kun wrote:

Yeah, that kinda sums it up. And I was just defending my good ol' chap. No worries needed.[iO] wrote:

That image failed miserably, but if your reason was the kiss he passionately gave to Yukiteru, I have 3 things to say:Ava_Lanche wrote:
Akise Aru from Mirai Nikki, reason?
Well at first when I saw him on chapter 8, I was like "OMG he's so cool!". But after watching that part I was like.. "Oh god why..". Basically I don't like if he's gayNanael wrote:
1) Yukiteru had been running away from a girl the whole series, he totally wanted it.
2) It's impressive that even though Akise liked a guy, he was way more manly than the main character overall.
3) Akise was, plot wise, the second best character of that train wreck, regardless if you hated him or not.
Now, if that wasn't you reason, then I'll be quite surprised XP
True, but I still like Guilty Crown.Tanzklaue wrote:
the entire cast of guilty crownnah just limit to shuu and inori (if you can call her a character), because they were really bad. in the first half of the anime, shuu was a whiny bitch, and in the second half he was batshit insane, and both charactertypes are per se not good for a protagonist, and then he was one of the worst protagonists with those attributes.
and inori? well, she doesn't have any personality, and for the femal leadrole, this is actually a big flaw.
