It still has some kinks to work out and I want to add a bit more functionality to it (mainly regarding image resizing/cropping and maybe image auto-uploading) but what's there should get the job done if you can find a pic and resize it yourself. Everything but the preview bgcolor changer works perfectly in Firefox (not sure why that stopped working, will have to look). The upload image from computer doesn't work in non-Firefox browsers yet... will get that working later on. Once I'm done I'll release it to the masses...

If you don't want to do that I'll have it to you sometime tomorrow.

As requested by people since I'm not in bed quite yet:



mm201: Try adjusting zoom a notch. I had that happen in IE9 too. I recall it being fine on Windows Safari.

Pixel fonts are fun. They don't resample nicely (esp. at smaller sizes) and with some of them you get display issues if you center align them with certain characters... I think characters with an even pixel width? Not positive on that, it's just a guess. The 1 screws up in this font though with center align, so I had to left align then move a whole number of pixels over to make it look centered.

I said this in Skype but you didn't hear it... I think it was probably someone one of us faced in worldwide that found us in the rivals list and said "ooh, that mii looks neat, I'll race this person again".

At least I think you can join community via rivals.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Just covering all my bases. ~

This is why I wish the scores wouldn't keep dropping each month... but then again some people would play whenever others aren't and so on.

I guess there's always the win/lose ratio screen, but until then... NINTENDO, MAKE A BETTER LEADERBOARD SYSTEM!

I was being polite. In reality I'm actually tied with Soap for 3rd, but placing me like that would make me look arrogant. ;P Nah, I'm really that bad. :(

Also, I started playing on WW again. Is it just me, or do most of the people who pick Metal Mario with that overused combo not know what they are doing? It's like they just pick the combo they see used all the time in TT and copy it because they think this is Mario Kart Wii, completely forgetting that this game has different mechanics.

EDIT: Actually, I might be 4th, since I've never really seen Soap use a light character yet he still manages to have a pretty even W/L ratio with me.

Thing is, we've actually been getting 8 player kartparties recently, so there might be a chance you'll either have to wait till someone else leaves or join a separate group :(

Assuming the latter happens, we could probably still play with two groups:
  1. One Group would have to be full
  2. 9th or so person attempting to join would automatically make a 2nd group
  3. A few/Some people from the first group could tag the person in the 2nd group

What I removed (read this first!)
So, this is probably gonna sound extremely silly, but I thought about a way to make things a bit more interesting for our next kartparty:

For testing purposes (and to see if I'll keep this up), you'll have to try and hit me with certain items/a certain amount of items as part of challenges I'll be setting (they'll be announced before each race or so; Community races only unless we somehow get a Worldwide party with only us osu! people). For example, if I say "Try and hit me with 5 green shells within one race before it ends" (you MUST be somewhere within my touchscreen/range for it to count) and you manage to do so, you get a point. (No, I'm not letting it stack AKA you hitting me with 10 green shells for 2 points, etc. Yes, more than one person can get a point for the same challenge. Also, since I'm sure we all have different internet speeds, I'll be judging things from my screen.) The challenges, of course, will vary. Also, if any challenges involve more than one race (ex.: Try and hit me with a Blue Shell 3 times within 3 races), you'd get a point for each successful attempt. Whoever has the most points from these challenges wins!

Now, like I said before, this is just something silly I came up with, and you don't HAVE to do this. I just wanted to try something that'll probably make things a bit more competitive (and possibly more fun) even though you don't really win anything out of this. That being said, if this manages to catch on, I WILL be posting a leaderboard after each kartparty session. To keep things fair (especially for those who either couldn't join in right away or decide to leave early), a person can only have a certain max amount of points per session (which will probably vary depending on the amount of people playing/who agree to do this).

So what do you guys think?

To be honest, I didn't think things through and will most likely scrap the above idea, and here's why:
  1. This will definitely requite a lot of concentration on my end, so I honestly don't know if I'll be able to track each hit properly.
  2. I suck at creativity, so the challenges will probably be generic (though if I try to add anything complex, it'll probably ruin what place you'll end up in).
  3. Since mm usually "does Time Trials" during most of the races, the challenges wouldn't be fair on his end.
  4. The above idea (first spoilerbox) was something I typed out of boredom.
Of course, if you guys have any ideas on how to keep things interesting, I'll try to continue this.

Yes, yes it is. 9 PM Central, but I'm pretty sure you have the time right on your side.

EDIT: 'cuz if it was 7 AM for you then you'd have a much easier time getting on. ;P

Sundays are sometimes bad for me, usually because that's when my family and I eat out (not that it's tradition or anything, but it seems like we hardly ever go anywhere till Sunday).

Are you trying to do it on reaction? You basically need to "feel out" when the bob-omb is going to explode for the correct timing. Even then it's only worth the risk if you're on like SNES RR or something where there isn't much else you can do other than stopping completely.

Though, I was referring to our specific W:L ratio we have with each other. ;P

EDIT: Also, I have a crapton of high-VR players on my list now. If anyone wants in on my stalker matches, just tell me and I'll start posting in #videogames when I do them.

It varies. Sometimes it can be as long as 3+ hours, sometimes as short as 1-2 hours. As far as any additional rules go, please add kartparty to your highlights so you'll know when we're starting or when you can join in (if there ends up being connection issues or if we're starting up a new set).

More on the Skype thing: though it's completely optional, we'd love it if you could join us on there so we can rage at each other in real time :P

Oh yeah... The osu! Mario Kart 7 community code is over at the Nintendo 3DS Club thread, if you haven't grabbed it already. It'd also help to grab some of the friend codes there since we usually go on Worldwide if there's 4 players or less.

Uhh... Yeah... I think that's pretty much it. Everything else is usually discussed in-game. Hope to see ya there!

I dunno what you mean by adding 'kartparty' because I've never done this before. I'll have to look around the multiplayer stuff before tomorrow I guess.

My computer's in my room on the top floor of the house and the router's in the basement. Chances are, if I want a good internet connection, I'll need to be in the basement but that's another thing I'll have to test out. How do you join rooms in Skype, never done that before either.

One person (usually me or mm) starts a call and adds others on their friend list to it. If you want, you can go ahead and add me on there. (Skype name: soaprman)

I am amazed at myself at how long it took me to do all that...
I've 'favourited' the osu! community in Mario Kart 7 and added the kartparty to the osu! in game highlighter (thank you bomber).
Hopefully I'll be ready to go tomorrow.
