I'm planning an upgrade to AKG Q701 (http://eu.akg.com/akg-product-detail-eu/q701blk.html).
My headphones (AKG K518 DJ) are starting to fall apart after 1 year of use.

What's so special about that? I don't know... Maybe different audio driver on Android phone? LOL. (Yeah they DO indeed have their own libaudio with software audio processing to make it *sound* like it's better)
I use my speakers mostly, but other than that I use Beats headphones or the earbuds from my cellphone. They both work well

The price of my headphones weren't worth it either.
Oh, and I use AKG earbuds at times.
^ As you can tell from the size of the ear buds, it's really difficult to fit them in your ears xD.

The sound is good enough to send my Electra back to its box. I never trust the sound quality from any gaming headsets/headphones ever since then.

Skullcandy and Dr.Dre headphones actually look pretty cool, it's too bad they're complete ripoffs.
beats aren't that bad but far overpriced, skullcandies are both horrible and cost twenty times more then they are worth
Beats is good if you prefer headphones with excessive bass and not minding about its overall sound quality and price tag imho
