Even though only I read the manga, I pretty much know what to expect anyway. So I don't feel any downside to that.
And besides, I know how the anime looks like. That's why I chose the manga.

Nah, it's a bit similar in some way. The difference is the amount of fanservice and how the protagonist reacts at the end. If you still hate Elfen Lied up 'till now, then don't bother watch it again.
