Watched a few trailers today.
Spoiler for big list:
SPOILER
DmC's trailer looks interesting enough and while I'm not really a big fan of Dante's redesign, he still is the wise-cracking badass he usually is and I'm happy for that.
ACIII definitely seems impressive and I find the sea battles to be intriging enough to make me want to play it.
ZombiU's trailer kind of reminds me of UMVC3's opening if it were reskinned as Dead Island and I am looking forward to it.
KH3D feels a bit closer to the console games than re:coded but I don't think I'm going to like it as much as Birth By Sleep compared to the other spinoffs (JUST RELEASE KHIII ALREADY!).
Theatrhythm FF seems like an interesting game. Sure, the visuals may seem a bit too cutesy for its own good but as long as the gameplay is fun it shouldn't matter too much.
Watch Dogs certainly is something. But since there is no actual gameplay just yet, I would keep an eye on it for now.
RE6 makes me think that the series is starting to focusing more on the action than the survival horror aspect of the franchise but the game will be fun nonetheless.
MGR: Revengence seems much better to be focused on action rather than stealth since it was meant to be fast-paced. I'm glad Platnium Games picked up on its development.
DS3 looks interesting enough despite the fact I've never played the first 2 games. The idea of Co-Op sounds like something that could work well here.
That's really all I have to say with some of the trailers I've seen so far. Might post again when more trailers come out.

10 more minutes to Nintendo's press conference~

Just wanted to tell you that I hate E3
-Athena-
Ubisoft wins
Assassin's Creed III wins

I'm lazy to come up with a wall of text review for all the conferences.

RIP Video Games.

Rubbish show in general. The only good stuff was at Ubi's, they won by a long shot.

We all want EBA 2 but we have to face it ... it will never happen :(
Let's start a KICKSTARTER :D

I was a bit dissapointed from nintendos conference. I expected a bit more about the Wii U itself ~ And they also haven't shown enough 3DS stuff and i have to wait for another conference which i probaly will miss DX
Mercurial
Assassin's Creed 3 Now.

Cmon bring out gaben already

God damn the environments and shadows in FFXIV 2.0 look a lot better than I expected, compared to what I saw in the road map some months ago >.<

Shame they weren't going to release much at this year's E3, apparently they're saving all the content for later in a giant ball...

EBA2 will be only if osu! and moeru got the secuel, not before. And in asia it could be.

Pkmn for 3ds, nope. Wait 4 more years since b/w2 will be on ds (the last one).

I didn't watch a single shit.:yaoming:

I really wish Nintendough would release a Developer kit for 3DS, but at the same time, they're probably hesitant in case some bright spark figures out how to sign and run unauthorised code on the 3DS in 3DS mode. It would be awesome, though.

Well, this year's E3 was rather underwhelming but it was worth it for Pikmin 3.

SPOILER
NSMB2 looks good but I think it's going to be too easy to earn lives.
I haven't played Arkham City but the Wii U version makes some nice additions.
Soul Sacrifice also looks great and I look forward to seeing how magic will be implemented in the game.
I can understand why Nathan Drake is in PSASBR but Big Daddy from BioShock? I thought they were only using PlayStation-exclusive franchises.
Nintendoland looks interesting but the F-Zero minigame makes me want a new F-Zero game even more. Actually started playing F-Zero GX again because it's been so long.
A bit of an odd decision to include an actual NASCAR racer in S&SASRT but still interesting nonetheless.
That's it for E3 this year. Kind of disappointing, really. Ubisoft pretty much took the show and was pratically overshadowing about everything else.

Piracy isn't a big problem on Apple's platforms.

Apple's platform also sells games for £5 at maximum.
Azure_Kite
Well, yeah. The difference is, that the core of Apple's current Operating Systems are based on IP that doesn't belong to them, so they can't really do anything about restricting it any more. Mac OS has shipped with developer kits for as far as I can remember.

If Nintendo were in the business of making computers, then I'd agree with you, but Nintendo are focused on creating game consoles, and don't want any Joe Blog figuring out how to make games or applications they won't get any money from, I guess.

Nintendo's e-Shop seems to be selling games at roughly the same price. ?_?

This is what's wrong with Nintendo. They try to run the show all by themselves, but there's no way they can keep pace with the multitude of developers on the other platforms. Nintendo becomes the Mario platform, which, as good as Mario and Zelda are, isn't as enticing as the broader collection of titles on their competition. They need to compete, and that means finding more developers.

The lively Wii and DS hacking communities represent an untapped resource of coders, most of whom don't like piracy and just want to develop.

Played it through, easily one of the best games of 2011. Wii U version looks promising, might re-buy it if I'll get Wii U.
Azure_Kite
I don't disagree with you; Nintendo's plummeting sales speak for themselves. The iDevices are marketed as devices that are able to do just about anything, but realistically it is the third parties enabling them to do so.

The way I see it, Nintendo likes to market themselves as a specialised company, and it's starting to prove their downfall. I don't believe Nintendo would consider opening up their consoles to everybody. I know a lot of hackers and developer communities just hack their devices to run homebrew, but, being a console with specialised games, it would inevitably end up with the system being unlockable and pirated games to be executed, unless they made restrictions on the way Developer games are run or something.

Nintendo, like any software company, are fearful of piracy, and I'd say that the DS was a good wake-up call to them how easy it was to circumvent the AP on the system. Currently 3DS games have been ROM-dumped, but nothing can run them, and they wouldn't want to release anything that could jeopardise that.

For the record, I know homebrewers != pirates, but where there is a means or a possibility to get things for free, people will attempt to do so.
Tetsu_old
I lol'ed @ Nintendo's conference. Probably the most boring thing I have ever seen.
mm201
Opening the system up to piracy is collateral damage caused by the drastic measures hackers need to go to in order to develop for it. If anything, providing a legitimate developer program would reduce piracy by removing demand for its research.

Apple's approval process would prevent pirate copies from becoming widely distributed.
Azure_Kite
I recall being told at work that Mac OS X actually runs periodic checks to make sure that licensed software is actually licensed to you, and prevents unauthorised software from being run if it fails those checks. Not sure if scare tactics or not, though.
SereneMidnight
Is it safe to say that I think most of the E3 conferences blew this year...? :/ Not even Ubi could save it in my opinion.

@dat.gif: I actually thought Nintendo and Ubisoft would've at least had a short battle before Nintendo fell off, but whatever.

Still doesn't change the fact that I WANT A WII U DX

I posted on another forum that I think a big reason E3 lost its luster this year is because it had very little in terms of really big announcements. Stuff like Assassin's Creed 3, PlayStation All-Stars and even Pikmin 3 were confirmed a while before the show, and stuff like Rayman Legends and Beyond got leaked before their official reveals. Companies seem a lot more content to spread their big announcements throughout the year more now, and it makes me wonder how much longer E3 will actually be around.
mm201
I'm sure it's more fun to actually be there and play the games.
Hika
E3 sucked, at least it's safe to say it did.
Nintendo was so horrible, would've been better if there was like a shit load more of Pokémon BW v2. /fanrage

Edit: There was actually barely any Pokémon involved, excluding the Dream Radar, no one actually gives a crap about that though. I still demanded to see some Pokémon.
NaomiMinette
No kidding... If they don't make a Pokémon 3DS game similar to the main ones we have already, I'm gonna rage -_-

At this point the purpose of E3 is more to show off to shareholders than to the gaming public.
