When doing some video testing today, I noticed that the colors in my video while in osu! were very dull, so I did a side by side comparison of the videos.

osu!:

The video inside osu! uses is more dull color-wise in comparison to the original video file. I want the video's colors in osu! to be the same or at least more accurate than they currently are in osu!

I think osu! darkens video so that it's less obstructive to gameplay

Even then, the dynamic range seems a bit smaller than it actually is.

It doesn't change colour. You are looking at the dimmed image. If anything, you have filters running on your video playback in the external player.
