I wanted to get into kanye for some time (only know the singles from my teen years), which works/albums do you guys recommend to start with?
IMO Kanye's older works are a good starting point. Start with The College Dropout or Late Registration. It's got more of an alternative hip-hop sound than his later works. If you've listened to those, you should listen to My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. It's arguably got the best production values and some really interesting samples, and is my favourite from him. My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy was fantastic in general.
This feels more like a Jay-Z song to me. Kanye's verses aren't nearly as strong as Jay-Z's.kanye west wrote:

Heard the first two you mentioned today, both great works. Really enjoyed Late Registration mostly, a ton of catchy tunes and good rhymes. I'll check the other records soon after I'm done digesting these two.hipster3000 wrote:
