No, it's also ANYTIME during race preparation (not sure about Spectating though, though that'd be stupid if you lost VR that way).

EDIT: So I'm seeing other people with Mario Kart 7 now. Anyone up for a kartparty this weekend?

Aww yeah, another 8 person kartparty! Nvm,someone dropped out mid-session...

EDIT2: So I was spectating this one Wiggler who used the whole Gold set... They did pretty badly, lol.

The easter weekend was totally booked for me in case it wasn't obvious. :P
I did find Seth on WW last night. Now if only I could remember who that was.
I'd have stuck around until MT got picked but my thumb was too sore to play any longer. (Interestingly, my right thumb gets more sore from holding A than my left thumb ever did for snaking in MKDS.)

Well, if you mean Maka Wuhu, they said they had no plans to fix it but I don't see why they can't change their plans. It'd take a special kind of incompetence to have the capability to patch games and not patch that particular thing in this one.

@Dieathan: What they said no to was putting out a second version of the cartridge with the fix. The mere fact that they're patching MK7 of all games points to me that they intend to fix the * Wuhu * lakitu glitches.
I'd also like to see the option to watch ghost's replays (like MKW) but like that'll happen.

I meant in general. All the Worldwide races I've been on recently, Daisy Hills is always picked at least once, if not, more than half the time I'm still connected.

I can be there too. We switched to cable today and, unlike my old Megapath connection it actually bloody works. I tried the game out prior to the switch and got DC'd midway through the race. I tried the game out for three races in a row after the switch and it was bloody beautiful. *sniff sniff*

Tonight's kartparty was a blast. We've begun using Skype while we play... it really adds a lot to the experience. For those of you who weren't on Skype with us during tonight's game, consider trying it next time!

That would help a lot actually, I'm almost always on skype when I'm home. So maybe I can sneak in a game if you guys announce a game through there ;P

I play with Yoshi as my Driver, so TOAD CAN DIE IN A FREAKING FIRE.

That aside, do wheels affect how much traction you get on the road? For example, a customary glance at the stats of Slick and Gold Wheels, they look pretty much identical, but with Slick you SLIP SLIP SLIIIIIIIDE on off-road tracks (Kalimari Desert, etc etc) but with Gold the issue is far less noticeable.

That was kinda why I was asking, hahah, I'm not sure if there is a tangible difference in stat-wise identical parts, or if it's just my perception of it.

Aiming for the Golden Steering Wheel now. By playing 80% of 100 recent games with the gyroscope, I wonder if the recent games applies to all game types (Offline Gran Prix, Online Races, Battles, etc) and whether the Golden Steering wheel is temporary. Does it wear off if the percentage of recent games played with Gyro Controls falls below 80?

I can get 3 stars on any 150cc/Mirror cup with little to no effort now, barring ridiculously bad luck.

Am I the only one who has no stars and plans on continuing to have no stars?

Well, I do sometimes get stars, but they're the kind you use to knock people off the track with.

I don't know if using it for different game modes will affect you getting it, but yes, it DOES go away if usage of it is below 80%.

I have two stars and I'm plenty content with that, I could get three if I wanted to but I got so pissed off at the AI I literally haven't played GP since I got my last cup with two or three stars.

I don't want to brag or anything, but I had the feeling that it's quite easy compared to older games to get all stars. Of course you still need a good portion of luck, but after some retries and practice and the right kart you should be able to get them without problems.

And I have access to Internet with my 3DS here now, so I'm up for some matches, just inform me when something is planned :P

No, MKDS was by far the easiest. The CPUs slowed down on lap 3 and you could reliably dodge blue shells on 150cc/mirror.

You could also snake so hard on MKDS that the AI chumps would never be able to keep up anyway.

In all seriousness, use a 5.5 acceleration combination for MK7's single player. That's what I typically do, and even 3 blue shells usually aren't enough to take away my lead on 150cc (online is a different story).

I usually announce them a day before the next kartparty. Though not intentional, they always seem to start at Friday, 9 PM CDT (GMT -6).

I remember you saying that's like 4 AM for you... I guess we could try having one earlier than that next tim--err... wait... do you usually sleep after midnight? 6 P.M. (GMT - 6 ) is (add 7hours because of GMT + 1) is 1 A.M. for us germans. (I hope i did no mistake now)

But when we have summetime on the northern hemisphare that also means that USA has summertime so that is +- 0 at the end....
I am really not sure though but i guess we will see. I stay up to 2 A.M then .... But i still think it is 1:00 A.M.

Sounds fine (here is GMT -5) although it needs a little change to suit the best hour for all. If possible, could it be a little earlier to fit everyone countries?

No need to wait for an Officially Sanctioned Kart Party. Just yell "kartparty" in #videogames and see who shows. I'm on most of the day on weekends. (not in the osu! client, but I keep IRC open)

Note that if you're like me and play far away from your comp then you get to experience the joy of regularly checking your Friends List to see what's going on.

Okay, so I guess 6 PM CDT (GMT -6) is still a bad time... Probably the next (and last) scheduled time I'll try is 3 PM CDT. If that fails, we'll just kartparty whenever.
