So I successfully hacked my TWEWY rom to replace all english voices/music with Japanese ones. No crashes yet, not that I forsee it crashing at any time, but I am an error magnet We'll see.
Nah, not quite as good. Most of the characters have deeper voices. Beat's BWAAAAAAAAAAAAAH is not as exaggerated, and yet just as annoying.

Heh, didn't know you could actually put your own songs into the game. You've inspired me to convert all the songs in the OST into .adx files.
Full length, high-quality songs FTW. :3
Edit: Did a test version with Transformation replaced. It loops perfectly (Removed the silence at the beginning and the very last part of the song), and the sound quality blows the default tracks out of the water.
Well, 1 song finished, only 35 songs left (I'm going to replace Twister and Lullaby for You as well). <_<

The game uses the .adx format for music. You'll need a file called adxencd.exe (http://files.filefront.com/ADX+Converte ... einfo.html) to convert .wav files to .adx, and then replace the songs in the unpacked ROM (Unpack it with dsbuff, and then repack it again). To make the song loop, use Audacity to find out how many samples it has (Google it, I'm too lazy to explain it). The entire process takes about 5 minutes per song because of the almost necessary audio editing.Detective Tuesday wrote:

Edit: I'm finally done with that project. Some of the loops could be improved, but other than that, there's nothing more to add. The ROM's final size: 290 MB.

Replace A with the first sample in the loop, and B with the last sample in the loop. The easiest way to find these is to first make your song loopable in Audacity, clicking on View -> Set Selection Format -> samples (snap to samples), and finally pressing Ctrl + A. You'll find 2 numbers at the bottom of the window. The first number (Should be 0) is A, and the second one is B.

So I finished a run through the game on level 3 (the final boss gave me a HELL of a hard time on Normal Level 3 but I won on like the 7th try) and now is time for speed-ish run. Back to English vocals, and in all seriousness, I find the English battle vocals much better. The only time the English vocals fell short of the Japanese (in my opinion) is Neku cutscenes.
I'm in the process of compiling a file-name-to-song-name list, but does anyone happen to have a complete one handy? I haven't even TOUCHED that shit that's like Bz-z-03.adx - just the n##.adx files.

Hmm...
I made an FLAC copy of the first soundtrack ages ago for personal use. Should I scan the lyric book and upload a massive torrent with both soundtracks in FLAC, all sound effects, all VA for both languages (Including cutscenes), the European/American ROMs, a special, tweaked ROM I made with full-length songs, some random icons and background images and some other crap as some sort of massive TWEWY compilation, or keep all of those files to myself? :/

I recall reading similar things about a sequel back in 2010 (though it is already mentioned in that article), and I'm definitely looking forward to a sequel. If there is a sequel, it'll most likely be released for the 3DS, though hopefully it'll reach Europe then. I can't really imagine it on other consoles. Though... I'd still wonder about the plot of a sequel, as nothing really comes to my mind when thinking about it.
