Americans are just inherently crazy, regardless if anime is involved or not. I still recall that kid who murdered some guy imitating Manhunt (again, the land of the free) and said that he felt bashing the head of the victim would earn him a higher score...
Now, there're crazy people anywhere, and they'll use anything at hand as excuse for their behavior. Not to mention there's always people who use these kind of tragedies to bash on what they dislike, case in point, anime.

You reminded me something, the case of the guy who wanted to legally marry Asahina Mikuru. Apparently the fact Mikuru was/is/will be 2D didn't discourage him one bit, he was looking for people to sign his petition... I wonder how did that end...Aoriki wrote:
