Mario Kart 7 weekly kartparties (Sat, 9 PM CST)

well usally we play at 1 a.m. when we do kartparties
sometimes 10p.m. too (GMT -1)

so you guys who live at the GMT - 6 zone
we are 7h ahead of each other

So basically it's (obviously) either the NA players play late at night and you guys play in the morning/afternoon, or we NA players play during the afternoon and you guys play at night... Which works better for you?

EDIT: So I just finished a Worldwide race... MIRRORED. *did not know this was possible* Hao2trigger? (Is this also possible for Community?)

I think the whole mirror thing is based on the relative VR of the contestants. For instance, if the majority of people have like, 2000 VR or something, it might bump it up to a higher level, like 150cc, or mirrored or something.

I'm not sure of the exact logistics, but that's how it worked in Mario Kart Wii.

I've never really played MKWii over Wi-Fi all that much, so I didn't know. Thanks :)

So... I guess we could have a kartparty around 3 PM CST (GMT -6) or later... I dunno...

Yeah, mirror happens in high VR rooms... I think it alternates between mirror and non mirror.

I should actually be available tomorrow evening past around 6-6:30pm my time... in GMT that'd be 11-11:30pm. Make of that what you like. If I'm around when shit's going down, I'll share the jolly good times.

This has happened to me too :? When I first saw it it only happened rarely, but now it seems like it happens every other race. o.o

I'm trying to climb up to 9999 VR and it's happened more and more, so perhaps it does happen depending on VR :?

Recently tried the Grand Prix of the Miis I got via StreetPass and discovered that beating the cup earns you a kart part if the Mii you're racing against is using a part you don't have. I'm not sure if this applies to the gold parts as well though.

Yeah, I read about that. I doubt it'd apply to the Gold parts, or else I'd probably see just about everyone on Worldwide with less than 10k VR have them.

yes ^^ i always try to get 100% in all games i love (osu! isn't possible ...yet)

If you hit the ground a little bit early at the end of the glider part, you get put on the landing area.
If you land it too late, it's worthless. If you land it too early, you get put back. At best, you only save like half a second.

If you do it right it will save a couple of seconds, but nevertheless it's a fraction of what the bigger glitch does...

I did it on accident once by landing on the tip of the lower platform and somehow not opening the glider. o.o

Also, I don't even have any stars, because I beat one of the cups without even getting one and was too lazy to go back and get it. I'd rather try and complete my quest for 9999 VR :P

K so... I'm still stumped on when to have kartparties during the daytime for the North American people so the rest of you guys can join us, so either you guys tag us or we tag you :?

Other than that, it'll be the usual times--9 PM CST (GMT -6) or later during weekends.

:( Life is unfair sometimes.
But maybe we european should start kartparties ourself. Isn't that good either (would love to play with you all).
It also seems that there aren't so many active europeans in this thread :-/

Well, maybe i will take the challenge to play at 4 A.M with you again Blazevoir :3. But i discovered that i am a little bit aggresive when i am tired xD I also hate the fact that i can't really chat with you while playing, always have to go to my pc when we finished the cup which is a little bit tedious

Funny I was at home at the right time. (Very rare occurrence. Normally I would be at work on a Monday around noon.)
But I didn't check my internet.

Edit: And yes, I'm serious about that "day's notice" thing. I'd have been there with additional warning.

I can't figure out if we use the circle pad or gyro controls to ascend or descend... They both look the same (not that I can tell since I can't see behind me >_>).

Also, landings after ramping off something high/gliding sucks the most.

Gyro-only is the real way.
The rainbow road tube is disorienting with first-person view.

TOO disorienting... The game makes you think the tube's holding still while you're in first person... till you suddenly "fall off".

Yay I fixed my settings now I can go online in Mario Kart!!! :D Though i'm a bit worried about the suggested setting Nintendo sent me.... That seems to me a lot of ports needed to be open....Is that kinda bad? o-o

Opening outgoing ports is usually safe. The only time it becomes a concern is if you're already infected, but even then, the virus could use a common port like 80 to do its bidding.

All scores reset to 0 at the beginning of each month. The Leaderboard only shows scores from last month.

January had scores of around 1k -> February came -> scores were still maintained -> middle of February came -> scores dropped to around 400

I'm totally lost now...

EDIT: Actually... Didn't we start kartpartying around December? There's no way we could've reached around 1k if the scores were to reset, and we didn't even kartparty every day.

Most of the cups I played I got a triple star rank on my first try. Even on 150cc and Mirror at times.

I don't think Krazy Karting is as effective at going slow as it was in MKDS. Else I'd do that.
(Krazy Karting is intentionally picking a bad vehicle for lulz.)
