Please check Console.app for relevant error messages after trying to run it.
There appears to be a problem with your X11 installation. Try installing XQuartz instead: http://xquartz.macosforge.org/trac/wiki/ReleasesLeyko wrote:

I get the same thing. I thought it was something I did so I downloaded it again but it just did the same thing. The other one just won't work for me it gives me the text thingy and never opens or gives it an icon.xdwolfe wrote:

well i downloaded beatmaps and followed as you have showed here.
The first three songs i downloaded works but the next downloads wont load in osu
osu doesnt read the new songs and so i still only have 3 songs
how do i fix this bug? i already tried exiting osu lots of times and restarting my laptop

it does say it has imported beatmaps but they do not show up in song selection, why is that?
I tried pressing f5 countless times, refreshing and reopening osu! and everything said in the opening post but it still doesn't work.
I was looking so forward to play it too

I really need help! I downloaded osu! on my Macbook and when I open it, osu!wine opens up, and then X11 opens. osu!wine then closes and in X11, a window opens up and it checks for updates. From there I click start osu! and a little screen with the osu! logo opens up and then it goes away. Then a larger white window opens up with a smaller one. The smaller one asks if I want to log in or play offline. I click to play offline and the larger window remains blank, but I can hear music playing. Can someone tell me what's wrong?

Try uninstalling and then install it again

I did that many times, but I would get the same result. Maybe it's because my Macbook is around six years old, although it does have the latest software.
whats that?xemnas9110 wrote:

Do you have X11 up when you start it up.

This is never going to happen unfortunately. No one seems to be working on it.

How long ago was that? 6+ months? Plus there's too many bugs.
I also don't like how it's dependent on X11, but whatever.
and i download the latest x11 for my version. its installation is a success and i put it on and it opens, then i try opening osu! but no difference, the logo pops up and i wait like 7 minutes, not working. haha sorry...Ephemeral wrote:

Make sure they are in the song folder and go to one of the game modes and then click F5 it should work then

i'm not 100% sure why it's doing that but try reinstalling osu or X11 or both and make sure you don't have OSX Mountain Lion

try refreshing with F6 (Fn + F6) or try uninstalling and reinstalling osu.
Thanks! It works now!
hmmm....not exactly sure what to do but my only guess is keep refreshing it till it will sometimes that happens and if it still doesn't try deleting the maps you're trying to import then redownload them and see if that'll work if it doesn't i'm out of ideasBlackAllis wrote:
The beatmaps I imported first work now but it won't add any more
though it said it did import it they do not show up on the list.
The new beatmaps are in the song folder, i hit f5, also tried fn f6 and refreshed it
What folder on your computer do you have it in? Try moving it to Desktop or Applications.ganzz777 wrote:

You do not need boot camp. This version of osu! runs through Wine and X11.needmofun wrote:
