So I made my first beatmap last night, and after some sleep, went back to do some further editing, and now Osu! is telling me the audio file can't be read. >:( I haven't moved anything from my directories since I began, and I don't want to have to redo the whole thing from scratch. Is there anyway for me to restore my .osu file and get it working again?

Note: the mp3 file uses some non-english characters, does this have anything to do with my problem?

Make a full submit of your beatmap :)

If you have any other problem, just write it.

Well you could make a new map with the same mp3 and drag the OSU. datas from the old one in the new ones folder.
That would be a Plan B.

@ iMercurial Unsubmitted map :o

Before you do anything else, it would be wise to make a backup of the .osu so you don't lose your progress.

Try changing or reencoding the mp3, or replacing it with another mp3.

As, Gens said: Make a backup of the .osu before you change things ;) (Just incase)

It could be.
Try the following and see how you go:
From the editor, go to file>open .osu in notepad

Under:
osu file format v9

[General]
AudioFilename: Song name.mp3
If this name is different to the name of the mp3, its the non-english characters causing the problem.

If you needed to fix it, in the folder rename the .mp3 to all english characters, then in the .osu you have up, change it to what you changed the mp3 to.
