Thanks, I've got the report and will take a look when I get the chance.

Would you possibly be able to find some testers for the new openGL version? It's not quite complete and will be buggy (warn them), but I need to get an idea of performance across a variety of devices, tell them it is a -lot- more responsive.

Uhh... I will try, but there may not have responsive users.
For them, I think they care for whether they can play well. Most of them do not really like buggy version.

One more thing, the guys downloaded the app and give 1 star because they can't download maps are really blind.
Now even osu!droid becomes lack of DDL as the server provider can't handle the bandwidth.
It seems hard that there will be someone could provide such bandwidth and server now.

I have no idea.
As the map installed will have no way to delete it in the app, they will need a file manager app/use the computer to handle the pre-installed map.
It's hard to select some songs to be in favour of all users, as I think no songs can suit for all users.

But if it will be chose, then try to search for some songs that is included in the original Taiko no Tatsujin.
I think it will be good, if the users tried to played the original Taiko no Tatsujin Japanese version before.
For the mapper, maybe you need to ask few of the mappers that made some songs originally included in the Taiko no Tatsujin.

One more thing, I find that the map handled by T-Aiko! will be quite different from the osu! taiko mode.
Many maps are just interpreted as sliders, even I know the rick and roll is not available in processing of T-Aiko.

I can't use any copyrighted music such as original songs from Taiko no Tatsujin, or from anywhere else, and while I might not be able to please everyone, it's much better to have the possibility of pleasing them (I'll put in an in-game delete option too of course)
Remember, I'm not being a Taiko clone, even my theme/style is very different and has the possibility of not being to some peoples' likings, but that's just life.

And I know, I don't convert sliders into beats yet, but I literally -just- (today) received code courtesy of peppy to let me make maps pretty identical to osu! look forward to it sometime in the future <:

I'm a pretty good mapper /cocky you could ask the community.
My style is old style namco, not the new crappy way they have been making songs, like AC 12+

Well, a few ass-pained days later with no success in optimizing openGL drawing and after a loss of days' worth of work due to (accidentally... kinda...) reverting my SVN changes, I give up! wooo!

I've always been tsundere for canvas drawing really, and I'm sure I can optimize it even further for those with really rubbish phones.
Plus it means we can get new features instead of re-doing what's already done for another few weeks.

On another note, I've got two mappers to work on two songs I've got hold of so far, so next version should calm some people.
Alex, I'm thinking of a message/dialog box with proper instructions how to get songs for the next version, I'll do a writeup for it and I hope you'd translate it for me into whatever you can <:

-Tentative tablet support (things are scaled properly horizontally), so should work on larger devices properly. Could do with someone testing this on a tablet, that guy with the galaxy note might be useful.

-Fading in for notes that first appear onscreen (rather than at the right edge)

Translations for Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese are done.
I just checked the scenes in the app as many as possible to have the translation.
There should be some others not being translated, please let me know if there is any.
For the finished translation, do you want me send it to you now, or just leave it till you want to deal with the translation problem.

Furthermore, I see recently there are few comments that they still don't know how to get the beatmaps.
The instructions for getting beatmaps is much required for the translation. lol
I'll just wait for you to finish your part of instructions.

In-app English map transfer instructions (along with pictures) are done, and Slider> beat conversion is almost complete (just need to finish off sounds for the converted notes)

SE Xperia X8 stops at Android 2.1.
If you would like to play this app, maybe you need to learn about flashing the custom rom.

But I bet using another phone will be a more reliable way. Flashing will void the warranty.

I could likely lower the android os requirement down to 2.1/1.6 with a bit of work, but most devices capped at them versions wont be able to run the game very well, you'd be disappointed.
It'll probably be best not to, to reduce bad reviews from them low end devices, sorry!

There are some users claiming their Motorola Atrix and also Atrix 2 having a problem to the app.
They claims that once they try to open the app then it is just forced close itself.

I have tried to ask them to send crash reports if possible, but till the moment no one said they could or send reports with any specific comments words.

Regarding the atrix 2's auto app closing on start up problem, the user replies that no crash report is available to be sent, then no crash reports are available.

Tell him to uninstall and use the market version then, he must be on some older intermediate version I released as an apk (non-market apps cant send error reports)

Also, I havent really done local scoring yet...

Small glitch : If I quit a map, select another and quickly launch another map, the third map will be played with the BG of the second.

Example : I want to play Shimelissa2218 but I chose Hardcore of the north. I quit HoTN.
Then I want to select S2218 but accidentally select BADGER.
Seeing Shimelissa, I click on it and select the diff [~Heuss'Taiko~]. Instead of having a blond-haired girl, I have badgers in the background.

I don't have osu installed on this laptop so I'm not sure, and I don't think it's a T-Aiko! bug, but does the map have a preview time set? I remember a previous version you made had it set, could you re-set it again if it needs it, thanks <:

And make sure oni and inner oni are harder! I've tested it on my phone and it's great, just need to make sure there's more challenge on the harder difficulties

Oh, in a preview version you had the preview further into the song, I thought it was better that way.
It's fine in T-Aiko!, just confused me that the preview started at the beginning.

Further report regarding the atrix 2 force close problem,
the user replies that he uses the market release, when he press play on the main menu, it direct exits the app without any option to send the crash report.

Got another report from an Motorola Razr user that it also got the same problem with the atrix 2.
It seems that Motorola Atrix, Atrix 2 and also Razr got an unknown problem with T-Aiko!.

Im playing taiko on Eee Pad Transformer with Honeycomb 3.2.
When i play it on Stretch to fill screen mode(or actual tablet mode), everything works pretty good(well main screen is too small compare to screen size and its on the right side instead of center..lol) but when i actually play it, taiko notes show up little bit below the note line so i usually play as zoom to fill mode screen setting(or simply, zooming the phone screen view). if picture is needed, i can post it maybe one or two days later.

however, i dont see much of offset issues when i use it as 70 with native players and everything is smooth,which is great!

i'm not sure if i can be a helper but if you need a tester with 10.1 inch Tablets(with Tegra 2/HoneyComb), just ask since i'm enjoying this game soo much!

Alex, the crash on pressing play for them two devices you described is something I've looked into.
It seems to be happening on motorola devices, I debugged it as best I could with someone on a Droid Bionic.

It's actually motorola firmware fucking up believe it or not. It's not a normal exception, but a SegFault somewhere in a core android library (libska.so) Something like this can't be caused by an app intentionally and is stupidly hard to work around since no error is thrown at which point it occurs, and the app simply dies reporting SIGEGV.
(Android is supposed to catch -all- application errors and allow you to send an error report to the developer)

I'm going to have to just leave it for now as it is just simply so hard to pinpoint without having a motorola device myself and a load of time to play with it, so unfortunaly phones on Motorola firmware may not work for now...
(If anyone doesn't believe me and thinks I'm making excuses, I can provide debug logs showing the fault occuring <:)

The workaround we did find, was installing a non-motorla ROM onto the same device. The guy I was with flashed his phone with ICS4Bionic, and it worked absolutely fine, so tell anyone that flashing their phone with a (>note< google stock, not just stock motorola) ROM is the only workaround (not that anyone would be this bothered about playing T-Aiko!....)

as for momo no hanabira, I sure like fucking that map up don't I? <:

Are you using the latest version that I pushed yesterday? (1.4 or 1.4b) I thought I'd fixed things being out of position on tablets. Make sure it's up to date and if it still looks off, yeah a picture would be nice.

As for testing, that'd be really useful actually. You don't have to do much, but tell me if there are any issues and if I could contact you to ask you to test early versions (in case I make tablet changes) that'd be great too.

Taiko Inner Oni for now finished. I'm sure I will change some patterns since some may not fit this well, but having the first views/opinions is good. I used Taiko this time as own instrument in this game.
Also about the lenght: Still not mapped the whole 4min. Maybe concidering this one more time?

Regarding the motorola devices problem, I tried to refer you message to them.
But in my view, it seems the problem may be from the new launcher, as I knew atrix 2 and razr using the new launcher UI apart from MotoBlur, and atrix 1 got a new firmware update to 2.3.5 not a long time ago.

I got another user telling me that using HTC Sensation ICS and got a crash report with FC problem. But he/she didn't mention about whether writing a specific comment or not.

Another user mentions that if using the new market release with online ranking system.

Im using 1.4b on this screenshots

hit point isnt located at the right position(i just noticed it when i actually tried to play)
and where the yellow line begins(on the gameplay pic) is about where i actually have to hit the notes
(i had to play not by looking at it, but by listening to song)

and anything that i was talking about, is well described on the screen shots.

FPS on the game menu is slow(about 15~25 approx?)
but in actual game play, i don't see any frame issues so it shouldn't be too problematic for actual game play.

i will test this game on my friend's Iconia Tab A100, an 7 inch screened Android tablet w/ Honeycomb 3.2
since mine(Eee Pad Transformer) has resolution of 1280x800 while his Iconia tab has resolution of 1024x600 because i felt like tablet mode for this game was made for 7" tablets not 10.1", which could make sense for the off-position issues of notes.

ps. do you think it would be possible for you to add side-note instructions on how to put songs, inside the app? i saw a lots of people having hard time putting songs which isn't problematic for us-kind, but is to first-timers.

i have a problem of processing the songs.
i have total 402 songs and when t-aiko processed about 190 songs then it has to force close.
i tried a folder with 190 songs only and everything was fine.

@alex It may be the firmware update, yeah, I'm not sure though. It's definitely motorola firmware related though.
Any crashes like the login one you mentioned should be fixed in 1.4b, the one you describe about crashing after login is fixed

@night thanks, that's helpful to see.
I think I can make the song select screen lag less, I'll do that in the future, and I thought I'd fixed the position issues, but I guess not. When I make any changes, I'll make sure to get you to test them.
As for profile editing, sorry, but it's ont he todo list of-course. Along with the site online

I don't have much time for the next week/two but after that I'll likely get back to a lot of updates.

@asowlzz Sorry, I should really limit the amount of songs that can be loaded, but it seems to vary a lot related to phone memory/max heap size. Just load less maps for now, I'll likely do something about it.

The user replies using the latest update, should be 1.4b, the issue resolve, i.e. which is after login press play then force close.
Device: NTT Docomo Sharp SH-01D
Resolution: 1280 x 720

Further replies:
- interface and texture is not in the right place(I think he mean the game elements might get a little bit off from the normal track)
- Upon fast tapping of taiko, the app holds and then crash, the problem should like the previous reports from LG P970 users.

-I have one new crash report on the song select screen, so I'll take a look at that if I get a chance.
-Yeah, large resolutions still aren't fixed.

-I can actually see a load of reports about the P970, but I don't think I can do anything about it, it's also occurring in a system library (although not as awkward to track down):

  at android.media.SoundPool.play(Native Method)

It's the kind of thing that should work on android, but playing a sound seems to be completely hanging the app.

I can probably work around it, but not at the moment (I'll tell you when this feature is done)
I'll make it so that at 0% sound effect volume (in settings) disables them completely, and they won't be played. Anyone with this issue will have to turn them down to 0%, should avoid the issue.
-remember, this isn't done yet, I'll let you know

And yup as well. I've already got simplified an traditional chinese mostly done thanks to alex, and will look into finding others.
The annoying thing is that I'm constantly changing the game, and having to keep chasing people for new translations is a headache...

For the changelog, if you don't have time, just use the English one for all.
You don't need to keep every changelog localized, otherwise, I'll just see the changelog with the same info and don't know which part is added or improved.

I got the same problem as Akai a moment ago on Firework by Katy Perry (Krisom's map I think but it cuts the name off). Hope that helps.

But it seems like it does only with ogg and non-ASCII names (Maybe with MP3 errors too)
