Because this is probably your first (maybe second?) map, I'll just give you advice instead of pointing out everything that's wrong in your map.
  • 1. Avoid using really high difficulty settings on slow songs. 8 should be the max for HP drain rate and overall difficulty for this type of song in and Insane difficulty. For hard maybe use 6 or 7.

    2. Try have an even/consistent spread for your new combos. And don't let the combo counter go up to high. Sometimes your combo counter goes up to 18!! Too high. You can put in a new combo at the beginning of every stanza or whenever the section of the vocals seems to be different from previous combo.

    3. For Insane difficulty, try to follow the instruments or vocals as accurately as possible. For example, this slider 01:33:293 (15). Yes it's very beautiful but it's not as fun as hitting more notes that could have followed with the vocals. Here is an example where the repeat portion of the slider doesn't follow anything 00:39:844 (1).

    4. It is easier to map a song that has more activity it. Dear You is very slow paced so it's not easy for new mappers.

Hello raxar! I think there's something wrong with your map because I can't redownload it ._. I deleted your map because when I updated to the latest version, the BG disappeared. And now when I try to dl your map, I can't for some reason ._. I have already started modding your map and about to continue until this happens... Pls. fix whatever this is so I can continue modding. :3

oops difficulty setting are too high for a normal diff like this, I suggest to set the HP drain and the overall difficulty to 3.

Beatmap design/suggestion
00:22:603 (1) - this spinner didn't feel in the right place, actually I may suggest to make it begins at 00:21:913 and ends at 00:23:293. it follow the music.
00:38:810 (3) - spacing like this is quite weird to play, I suggest to use the distance snap, you can see 3 is too near to 2, try to move it further.
01:10:189 (1) - too near with 4, actually I can see you want to put this note in the middle of notes before, but this may make new players confuse due to the spacing change, so I would suggest to put this note further.
01:17:086 (5) - yeah again spacing problem, seems this is a little further then I expected, move it nearer, make sure it is the same spacing with others.
01:30:189 (2,3,4) - I don't really like triple hits in a normal diff, because it is really hard for new players to play.
01:39:155 (3) - yeah again spacing things. From now I am not gonna to mention things like this, please use sometime to check all the spacing yourself. if you have any trouble, see the upper right corner of the screen, and watch that prev: next: number, it tells you the spacing. For example: I saw you are using 0.8spacing all over this diff, so if you see 0.9 0.7 or something else, then check it. unless you do it on purpose.
02:00:189 (1) - this spinner didn't feel in the right place too, seems it didn't follow anything. And seems you are using it to shorten the breaktime, I think it is not good, I suggest to map some of the breaktime, it will makes the player feel better to play.

00:50:879 (1) - from here, no hitsounds since here? I suggest to add some, just like the things you did before here.
01:01:568 (1) - eh you got a whistle on the slider body, seems werid for me, on purpose or something?
02:56:741 (1) - the finish on the spinner feel very sudden, and the time the spinner ends is werid too. try to listen to the music and find out a better place to stop this spinner.


basiclly, same things are with hard diff and insane diff. of course you can use more freely spacing in those diffs but like this:

00:36:741 (8) - this note should be in the center, it will helps the pattern looks more clean and neat.

about insane diff, actually I think it is a slow song, hard diff is enough, insane seems a little overmap. and seems you didn't use more rhythm in insane, just using smaller circle with higher difficulty settings and higher sv, I didn't feel it good to play.

Sorry I didn't mod the hard and insane diff in details, because seems they are not ready for detail mods yet. Just want to make sure you got the right rhythm,spacing and other stuffs first. Then we can mod this in details.

alright these are just suggestions~ feel a little hungry now so I am leaving yay~ good luck with your map! pretty good patterns and hitsounds for a new mapper, I hope you can work hard and finally rank it~

Shorten down your combos ;~; Probably work to make them like, 8-9 instead of 14-15
The pattern mapping is ok, just sometimes it makes some weird jumps o-o.

I don't know if you did the hitsounds like this or if you applied someone's (horrible) mod to mess them up this bad. They are just that: a complete mess. No structure, no support of the beat or anything, mostly random claps and finishes :cry:
This song has a REALLY easy beat: heavily pronounced downbeat and less pronounced 3rd beat in every bar (and even less the corresponding 1/2 beats before those - better ignore those): http://puu.sh/cwud
If you use hitsounds make sure you support the actual beat or the dominant parts of the song. And be sure your hitsounds don't make up their own beat that goes in a different direction from the actual beat (which they do in this case).


[Normal]
Try to map what is most dominant and therefore easy to follow in the song at any time. This is your easiest diff and it should be very intuitive to play for rhythm game beginners. I wont point out every part that feels off but if you just try to map "what you hear" you should be fine. Using 50% speed or even lower is a great help if you can't find good beatpatterns for some parts of your map.

01:29:499 (1,2,3,4,5) - overmapping in a normal diff? why? Seems you tried to follow the piano here as it is the most dominant but if you play the song at 50% (or even 25%) you will hear and see your sliders are not really mapping the piano but they actually map nothing.

Those circles just mark a possible beatpattern, where to use sliders that span between them or keeping/deleting actual circles is up to you. Anyway you shouldn't use 1/4 notes (even if it is repeat sliders) in your easiest diff.

Again the Piano and the vocals are the most dominant parts of the song. The rhythm and baseline are almost constant throughout the song. Try to map what you hear. Some parts are done this way and that's why they play OK:

00:14:327 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - good but you could let the slider end on the white tick (where 00:15:706 (1) is)
02:57:775 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1,2,3,4) - except the 02:58:293 (2) that maps absolutely nothing but in terms of flow and following the song this is how it should be done.
03:03:293 (1,2,3,4,5) - nice

You don't have to map each and every sound you can hear. Pick dominant things (the higher your difficulty the more elements you may map) and find a combination of sliders and circles that 1) support the baseline/beat and 2) flow with the dominant things you hear (in this case vocals, piano,...)
Avoid overmapping as much as possible and if you want to overmap you should have a very good reason ("to make it harder" is not a very good reason).

There is still a lot of work to do. But it is not as bad as it may look. Just take some time to listen and get the flow of this song. There are many (ranked) maps for the many versions of this song, maybe play some of them for inspiration ;) (INSPIRATION...not copy/paste!)
