I think it'd be nice if you post the number of hours until the end of each period starting from the time of that post. That would make timezones less confusing.

That way, we don't need to do any calculations; as long as we have the right time zone set in our settings, we'll know exactly when each period ends.

Eh, I didn't ditch it, I just got tired of checking it every day, then ended up forgetting about it.

If there're a couple more participant signups (which, at this rate, I assume will take some time into May), we will (finally) get started.

So how long is 1 segement of a day? if its like 5 hrs i think some ppl may miss a segment and even get a phantom vote. (Im not kidding.)

All forms of communication are considered fair play (although Werewolf Game discussion is usually kept mostly in the thread). You may say whatever you want during any Day phase, anywhere you want.

This includes
1) Here in this thread
2) IM clients such as AIM or MSN
3) IRC, be it the original client or Osu's in-game chat
4) E-mail
5) Private messages

Just make sure of two things:
1) You don't talk here during Night phases. (Yes, you can still PM each other and stuff at Night if you want.)
2) You cast your lynch vote HERE. That's one of the two absolutes (the other is that you can't show anyone your Role ID); lynch votes MUST be public so they can be referenced at any time, so even if it would otherwise be convenient, I will NOT accept lynch votes made in chat, e-mail, or PM; the only way your vote will count is when it is cast here in this thread.

You may, of course, discuss with each other who you're planning to vote for (that's not against the rules, and can add to the fun), and if you want, strike deals or make agreements/pacts/whatever where part of the deal is that one or both of you will vote for someone particular.

As long as your final vote decision is here in this thread for all to see, I'll be happy.

Also, some notes on Aux Roles and the whole "you can't show people your Role ID" thing...no, you can't show them your Role ID, but that's it; you can still claim to hold any role you want, and you can even provide information (be it true or false) about what your claim you know because of your role. (This assures Aux Role humans can still try to help, but it's the decision of the other players on whether or not to believe what they're being told.)

And a note to the Wolves (you know who you are); I'd suggest picking a spokesperson who will be responsible for PMing me the name of the person to be killed so you don't all end up sending me a PM every night. Also: you don't have to converse in PM; you can use any form of communication you want, as IM clients make it easy to hold conversations between multiple people at a time, which can allow the discussion to go faster and allow you to arrive at a conclusion faster. Just make sure the Humans don't know where you're talking at.

Remember that I am the Host; if you have any questions, feel free to ask anywhere, anytime (although if it concerns your particular role, it would be best to PM me). If you're an Aux Role and have lost a PM containing information you needed, let me know and I'll re-send it. Role-specific info will always be distributed via forum PM; I will never send reminders using IRC PMs (although if you PM me in-game asking for a reminder, I'll send it, then tell you in-game that I sent it).

Werewolf Game #1: The Werewolf Game

Dawn

It begins.
The game's participants are flown to a distant town via private jet; the town has all necessary amenities, including a fully-stocked store with no clerk so the participants have access to all the food they will need.

The participants have all been informed that they will each have their own small house to live in, complete with water and sewer service, all paid for; they have each been given directions to their house from where the plane lands.

They have also been given, as a group, an instructional DVD, which they have been told to go view as a group at the center of town in the town square, which apparently has a large pavilion with a plasma TV.

The group of fourteen walks to the pavilion, and the DVD is put in the player.

On the screen is Ace Of Hearts, whom they recognize as their Host. Ace speaks to the participants as follows:

"Hello my contestants.

You fourteen were selected for this violent experimental game, which, by the way, will be televised outside this region for others to watch.

As you already know, you each have a house to live in, complete with all things necessary for daily life. In fact, we've even provided each of your houses with a computer with internet service, as well as a flat-screen plasma TV with cable, as well as a PlayStation 3, XBox 360, and Wii, with a large stock of games at the game rental store, all of which have been paid for by the company.

The reason why all of these amenities has been provided for you is because of the nature of the game you are about to participate in, and the reason why all fourteen of you signed a waiver, which only made vague statements that your lives could be at risk.

And they are.

While you were sleeping in your hotel rooms last night, five of you were injected with a DNA-altering substance; one which turns you into a violent wolf every night.

That's right: five of you...are werewolves.

As a live audience watches your daily lives here in this isolated town, the purpose and entertainment of this game is to see whether the wolves will kill off all the ordinary humans, or whether the ordinary among you will be able to pick out the werewolves and systematically kill them before it is too late.

To do this, each one of you still living must cast a lynch vote every day. At sundown, he or she who has the most votes against them will be publicly executed in a lynching: they will be hanged at the gallows located in the back of the town. Any who refuse, are too scared, or forget to vote by sundown for any reason shall receive a phantom vote which counts against them the next day.

If the humans win, all participants still alive at the conclusion of this game will, as a reward, be taking home their new computer, plasma TV, game consoles, their choice of games from the rental store, and one million dollars each.

If the wolves win...well, that's just too bad. I guess we'll then just have to bomb the place afterward for the ratings.

You are free to do anything you like in this town; there are no rules or laws here, fitting for a scenario where most of you will not be living much longer anyway.

A couple tips to get the ball rolling on lynch voting, as first-day voting is often rather awkward. Most of these tips can now also be found in the Status post.

1) You can use any justification you like for your vote (even ridiculous/little/stupid stuff), including no reason at all, or just selecting someone randomly.

2) You can change your vote if you like (although you'll probably confuse me and make the other players suspicious).

3) As it can be used as a tactic, you have the right to refuse to vote with the understanding that you will get a Phantom Vote that will count against you the next day. (Abstaining from voting is often part of an agreement with other players, not wanting to draw suspicion, preventing yourself from angering other players, or can also result from a lack of knowing who to vote for.)

4) As it can be used as a tactic, if you're bold and think you've got good reasons, you can cast your lynch vote against yourself if you want; this is a bold move, but in so doing, you assure you won't get a Phantom Vote the next day by voting against yourself now.

Pasonia looked around lazily, playing Dynasty Warriors 6. Most of the people in this game are people he don't actually know; it's tiring, boring and outright sick to have to die in a televised environment while people watch their mind games from afar.

"Hanging by the gallows?" He snorted when the DVD played. "Don't you guys think it's all a bit too ridiculous? GALLOWS? I'd have expected a firing squad if we can have all the advanced amenities!" He then notices a security camera hanging by the back of the room, to which he promptly shows his middle finger and says, "Hey, nutheads! Give us a firing squad or *I* will hang you by the damn noose."

"Eenie Meenie Miney Mo... Who's the spider on the wall..." Pasonia yawned, dozing off in the bed in utter boredom; without Internet he feels extremely restless. "I should leave a will saying that if I die, I'll want to be buried while sleeping on top of this bed. How'd they make big, fluffy beds like this, really..."

Then he remembered about the voting. Looking around from the second floor window, no one is venturing outside for the moment.

"I can't think of anyone, anything at this moment. So I'll leave it to the spider on the wall..."

Ace looks around, and after reassuring himself that the surroundings are clear, continued, in a rather annoyed manner:

Oh, but strangely enough, they will let me send anything automated, such as a Suicide Booth."
He pauses for the moment, then shrugs at the prospect.
"If enough people want some other manner of death, we can send it. Until then..."

With that, the television screen went into static.

Well anyway, I've heard words about five werewolves being around the fourteen contestants. I really don't know how to respond to that, but ever since knowing that fact, I've actually been looking forward to getting -killed before night comes. Larto sat at a Wii and played Super Mario Land, which he just downloaded. At the moment, he didn't care about the votes. He gave his vote and that was it. Even though he gained suspicious looks from others, freaking out because of that wouldn't make his situation better. If this really was his last day on this planet, he should enjoy it. And that was what he did. Kind of. He became really pissed when died in Super Mario Land for the third time in a row at the same spot.

Sir Minelli spent about 5 hours trying to beat "Pirates of the Caribbean, At World's End" for PS3, but no matter what he kept getting killed by a pirate boss.

YellowYoshi1 looked around at his little house that had been provided to him for the game show and smiled. It was a pretty nice place.

He looked around at the games and fancy TV and smiled, "So much better than home."

He walked outside and looked around at the island they were staying in. It was an interesting place to be sure, with some interesting people, but he was excited about the game.

Pasonia watched the proceedings lazily from the comfort of his own house, which is one block north of the main hall. Pasonia suddenly wished for a pair of binoculars, and then promptly got one.

"Wha--- okay, fine. I was just merely thinking about it."

Pasonia whipped out the binocs, and watched. Sadly, the only girl he saw (LadySuburu) wasn't the particularly showy type, and was more of a geek than Pasonia himself was. After watching the back of LadySuburu for hours on end without any hope of a better piece of scenery, Pasonia moved his vision towards the votes tally bulletin. It was kind of surreal - Pasonia realised that, given a tomorrow, he'll likely have to bear the guilt of pushing someone towards death.

Pasonia does not act on mere impulse, but the thought of the situation he was in suddenly reminded him of Battle Royale. Only, this time, it's votes, and a TV show.

At this point of time, Pasonia decided to write a piece of document by hand, realising that if he were to put this document in digital form, espionage is likely. Noticing the camera in his room, Pasonia ran off to the fridge and squeezed a few lemons, then wrote the paper using its juice.

"I'd suspect something like this can help me out in a pinch," murmured Pasonia.

Notice: Pasonia has created an item, [b]Pasonia's Written Text in Lemon. This piece of text will only be unveiled in two circumstances:

1. When Pasonia decides to hand the paper to someone he trusts, in which case he announces the paper to be "given away" before revealing the contents to the other user via forum PM. When doing so, AoH will be notified of the note's contents.
2. When Pasonia dies, either by a lynch or by a Wolf kill. If by a wolf kill, a random one out of the remaining wolves will obtain the paper, and will have only a 40% chance to understand that it is written in lemon juice, and hence heat over the paper to reveal the text. If by a lynch, only AoH would eventually know of its contents.

Whichever case happens first will destroy the Text.

I must say, it's been a long time since I last saw a Werewolf Game with such dedicated participants who take the game as seriously as you guys do.

This is going to be a very interesting game!!

YellowYoshi1 decided to explore the place he would be living at for awhile, so he ventured away from his house to explore the small "village" they had been dropped off at.

He wandered around until he came into the pavilion they had all viewed the opening of the game at. He couldn't help but wonder how things would go through this game, so he decided to go take a look at the voting board to see how things were going.

"Hmm, the game just started and it's already looking like a pretty intense game..."

As he viewed the board he noticed in particular that two people stood out rather suspiciously. "Vytalibus and Larto... hmm..." He noticed that they had both originally voted for each other. They had both changed their votes to JInxyem.

"Seems pretty fishy that they would both change their votes to the same person..."

YellowYoshi1 casts his vote for Larto.

As Echo sat in the middle of the village square, strumming his guitar, a strange thought struck him. He numbered off the roles of the players in the brief he read during the plane ride to this island.

"Five werewolves... nine auxiliary roles..."

Echo stopped strumming.

"What?" he stammered. "We don't have any normal civilians in this game?"
