Anyone got any tips for me? Whenever I do streams (I use my left index and middle finger on G and H keys), my index finger tends to either just lock up, or not lift with the key. I think I can last with streams longer with my index and ring finger, but it just feels strange (maybe I'm not used to it I guess)

Keep trying and make it work with the index, try to use middle finger for triples/slower streams if possible. (Unless you can't use that too.)
I personality use middle finger to do all my non-streams/slow streams.
However, I kinda felt that way with the fingers when I first started playing taiko. Perhaps not really on the lift part, just feeling werid.

I can do slower streams without any real problem, just faster streams seem to be the problem :/, as for non-streams, I sometimes switch back and forth from my index and middle finger depending on how fast the beats are coming I guess.

Is there any advantage or disadvantage to people who always alternate compared to people who have 1 main finger ? The only friend I know who plays with 1 main finger can stream a hell of alot faster than me who's always alternated no matter how slow the song is.

But how long will it take for you to get used to do 180 bpm and up streams with one finger?

In the end it just comes down to how strong your fingers are, the weaker they are; the slower you stream. At least for me since I used to have next to no muscle in my fingers and the max. stream speed I could do was 140bpm until I started practicing streams a hell of a lot more and nowadays I can do 200bpm for a little while. That's still really slow compared to almost every other player :(

also it took me 8 months just by playing osu several hours a day.

try this instead --> http://osu.ppy.sh/s/31493

Try to press the keyboard fast and soft, soft is the main problem, if you press it very hard,your fingers will feel tired rapidly and lead to stream speed decrease. Soft can make the press frequency of your fingers keep constant and fast. :arrow:

I practice stream with this beatmap: http://osu.ppy.sh/b/86044

I usually just practice streaming by pressing keyboard buttons as fast as possible until I can't anymore right before I go to bed :p, it might actually be helping, streaming does seem to get a tiny bit easier each day...

best way to improving the stream skill is by playing the streamy map as often as you can, better if the stream itself are moving^^(in my case)
try to pass this map http://osu.ppy.sh/s/2583 at the hardest diff, i'm pretty sure it can give you more capability to do nice stream sooner or later

But I don't wanna decrease my streaming speed to yours Hika x]

On topic: If you have your wrist resting on the desk try lifting it up and keeping it off the keyboard and desk. This helped raise my streaming speed up to around 240 from around 210 or so. Also, a mechanical keyboard can help but it isn't 100% required unless you're looking at doing something like Chipscape or Mad Machine. Overall just keep practicing and don't get frustrated. I started in March and it took me until June to really start doing anything awesome (Which some people think is a short time.)

Just keep trying new things really.

try tons of stream maps, 300bpm for the lol, never give up, and take a break when you notice there's something fatal going on with your joints
