Swift, are you absolutely sure that you're just a run-of-the-mill cop, and received the result "Adam is guilty" last night? I'm still seriously doubting that there are two sane cops, it seems like that'd be too overpowered- if that's what you think your role is, I'd be betting that one of you or Mashley has some kind of modifier on you, like Insane or Paranoid (obviously not naive).

At which point, it'd just be best to judge who is scummier between Wojjan and adam. I'm leaning towards adam- Wojjan clearly seemed to think the result on him was a mistake while adam essentially dodged the question.

Vote: adam for now, subject to change based on clarifications in Swift's role.

I'm sitting put on Wojjan at the moment.

Swift could be a role cop of sorts, if his result was mainly the flavor of "regretting joining the mafia" That would make some sense but still would be odd.

He stated his PM indicates "The note was found from Adam's file" and "The piece shows Adam is mafia". I don't think his PM would ever lie unless somehow someone manipulated Adam's file.

He could still be lying or some sort of "ex-mafia" role (he got no indication of how old this note was), or a framer could still frame him in that manner.

Actually he's probably not some "ex-mafia" role else he would have mentioned it probably.

Actually, what were your picks for the game? The character's personality and it's history may help us getting any possible infos of your sanity (just like Pheonix who we really doubt he would be insane/paranoid/naive).

He did specifically say L.A Noire so I assume that it's because that's the only game that fits his role.
I have yet to play L.A Noire, but from my brother's descriptions of the missions: you play as a guy who is about justice and getting his man and stuff, but even if you know who the culprit is, in a few of the missions you have to tell the police chief what he wants to hear and arrest who he has personal bias against to get a good grade for the mission instead of arresting the actual culprit.
So it could go either way from what I've heard.

Well, assuming that my sanity is in fact random, I'd have roughly a 50-50 chance of getting a proper verdict on someone. But even then, that's pushing it quite a bit.

@Lybydose- who is a lyncher? I don't recall bmin accusing anyone of that.

whoops, I meant adam's description of the game character, not bmin

As in, the guy has to arrest a specific person that the chief has bias against rather than the actual guilty person. Would make sense for a lyncher role.

I leafed through a few overviews (half assedly) and couldn't see those situations. (Off topic but this game's story is actually quite interesting)

Overall he just seems to be a run-of-the-mill detective.

I'm willing to test my statement. If I really have a sanity that gives off random results, how would I know D2? It's impossible.


So, with that said:


Currently, there are a total of four different sanity that I could be:

Sane, insane, paranoid, random

If I'm truly random, then I should come up with a result that will mess up the pattern shown in the later statements.

If I'm sane, everything I search will come out correct (excluding millers and traitors..and other misleading roles).

If I'm insane, everything I search will come out backwards.

If I'm paranoid, everything I search will come out guilty.




Like I said, the only way I can tell if I have a random sanity is if I get an unusual pattern, such as the following example:

Player 3 was found mafia. Lynch result: Mafia. Sanity: Sane, paranoid, random.
Player 8 was found innocent. Lynch result: Mafia. Sanity: Insane, naive, random.

With that second result, there is NO WAY I could have gone from the first set of results to the second set of results without having a random sanity!



With that said, I'm still keeping my vote.





Yes, I'm sure everyone's gonna hate me for this. BUT I WANT TO PROVE MY SANITY!

Basically, I'm using a similar method to the Mini Dethy Mafia. Doing this will be a test of whether or not my sanity is in fact random.

Well, if you want things to be a little less random, then we should analyze our lynch candidates more carefully.
Like you know, "Wojjan is 30% more scummier acting than adam in page 13!" or something.
Totally-insane random cops are rarely used in games except in Dethy, because essentially they are useless and just confusing. Dethy being a game of cops, a random cop would be an interesting twist.

Also, guys, you're relying too much on meta. People can act differently under different conditions.

I personally find the start of today highly suspicious. adam voted Wojjan and then Mashley popped up with a cop result on Wojjan. (This doesn't make Mashley mafia, I think it's more likely that they framed Wojjan and were just waiting for an opportunity)

I'll just vote adam2046 and if he's town we can lynch Wojjan tomorrow >.<//

As Dr. Hitter was coming back from the town, he saw the group of characters fight over who to lynch.
There were two claimants of an investigative role. Both had a "guilty" on a different person.
The players were divided. Both wanted to lynch either of the guilty.

In the end, they had settled for adam2046. As he was about to be hanged though, he looked at the people voting for him.
He glanced once, then twice. A look of disappointment entered his face as he went for the noose.

adam2046 has been lynched. His alignment will be revealed the next day.

ALL ACTIONS MUST BE SENT IN 48 HOURS TIME.

It was 3AM already, but Dr. Hitter was still wide awake doing the final calibrations on his machine.
"Oh crap. I'm still missing some parts for this machine. Need to buy some tomorrow again."

But alas, Dr. Hitter had already taken caffeine pills and could not sleep. He decided to wander around the rooms of the characters.
He entered adam2046's room. Inside, he found a lone suitcase. After forcing the lock open, he discovered a notebook detailing adam2046's escapades with the Mafia, and his plan to leave the organization.

Apparently, adam2046 was a member of the Mafia, but was planning to transfer sides. The lynch yesterday was useless.
adam2046 - Mafia - Regretful Mafia - Conditional Saulus - Lynched Day 2

Dr. Hitter, still bored (and full of caffeine), decided to go outside. He immediately noticed that the weather was foggy. He remembered that the weather forecast did say that it would be foggy for the rest of the nights of the week.

Dr. Hitter continued to walk across the outsides of the building.
He noticed that a body was hanging on top of the antenna of the facility.

Upon approaching it, he discovered that it was Swiftwolf Yellowtail.
What was more odd was that he couldn't tell how he died or what was his alignment.

Another thing - I doubt adam knew who else was in the mafia. If he did, the role would have been completely broken upon his switch to the town.

Finishing the hammer on adam to stop any further discussion. This is especially suspicious because Swiftwolf was considering a plan to determine his sanity, but had not yet unvoted himself. A hammer on adam prevents Swiftwolf from unvoting and having the bandwagon potentially swap to someone else (like Wojjan).

Anyways, I find the act of defending (versus scumhunting) to be much more suspicious, especially as you obviously weren't masons or something.

Apart from being completely undecided now as to whether Wojjan is mafia or not. I am waiting for Mashley to post his 'result' to see where to go from there.

Now we don't know if Swiftwolf Yellowtail is sane, nor if he's a cop at all.

Not sure if adam's lynch is as useless as the flavor said. The switching sides, I mean, he didn't even dash a roleclaim that he's a regretful mafia and that we could still work it out. It wouldn't also make much win-condition sense. So he doesn't win with scum? Or he wins with scum but can win with town?

Then again Swift did find a note saying that adam was "regretting joining the mafia" or some such. I think it's safe to assume that he was sane and a detective of sorts (makes sense for his game choice)

On the topic of knowing the other mafia, that'd be crazy for him to know who they were and be town at the same time. Somehow I doubt he knew... but that doesn't explain why he attempted the kill the other night.

The both was a typo I believe we've been over this

also imo second motivator is a scumclaim waiting to happen. There is just no way you can have two motivators and a balanced setup: one of them in Touhou PYP was already so overpowered it led to like five confirmed towns.

If he flips scum, then Lybydose is probably mafia as well- based on what I said earlier about defending adam and the fact that Mashley tried to clear him.

If Mashley turns out to be insane, how could that possibly make me mafia? That would make me TOWN.

I don't understand what Wojjan's accusing me of, but my reasoning is that Mashley is likely scum, and any way he flips we're netting two mafia. (And nobody seems to agree with me about Lybydose.)

That doesn't make any sense, his condition to swap to town obviously has nothing to do with being lynched, considering he was still mafia when he died. Why would "preventing him from being lynched" stop him from converting to town?

Furthermore, remember what I said at the start of the day? There is no possible way adam had access to scum chat. If he did, the game setup would be completely broken, and I highly doubt NoHItter would completely break the setup like that.

Lynching adam was clearly a bad move for the town, as it led to a "future town" dying and gave us no insight as to what the hell was going on between Wojjan and Mashley. As in, had we lynched Wojjan, we could have gained information. You're basically trying to lynch me here for being reluctant to go with a plan that was not in the town's best interests. Who's the scummy one here, is it me, or is it you?

If Mashley does end up being scum, how exactly does that give us two scum? Who's the second one, me? You realize that a mafia fake-claiming cop can pick a townie, call him out as innocent, and then lead everyone to believe he's trying to "clear scum partners" when he dies.

My point here is that for some reason you raise the possibility of Mashley being scum (and through your logic Lyby being scum by extension (not sure how that works yet)) or Mashley being a cop, and Me+Rantai being guilty and thus scum. You completely ignore the fact that Mash has two guilties in a row, and i's starting to seem pretty probable that he's an insane cop, based solely on his results.

If that would be the case, Mash would essentially have a guilty on the person you suspect the most. Why do you assume, if Mash flips town, that Lyby has to be town and me and Rantai mafs?

Sounds like some halfhearted, preemptive distancing there.

That's some pretty horrible speculation. Obviously he's going to switch over to town if he remains unlynched (and you know, still living), otherwise the role would have no point.

At this point I'm leaning towards a mashley lynch as well, since I doubt both the existance of a second motivator and the two guilties seem unlikely.

@Wojjan- I'm open to believing that Mashley could be an insane cop- his sanity should be revealed upon death. I'm not sure what you're trying to get out of me- to vote for Lybydose based on that supposition?

@Lybydose- Are you saying: "We could have had adam convert to our side, thus lynching him was wrong and I was right to defend him?"

If you knew his role beforehand then it's obvious you're scum. That's information no townie had access to. Swift may have received some hints regarding it but no one had pieced it together to understand he was a saulus. Even if you had, there would be no way of knowing that the trigger for his conversion was not his death.

I have no idea what the conditions were for him to become town, but I think you assumed it was to be killed/lynched- that's the way it generally works, at least according to MafiaWiki. Acting under this belief, you would have wanted to prevent him from turning by preventing his lynch; it's just a lucky accident for you, then, that this particular death wasn't the trigger for his conversion.

I'm saying that defending adam would have been consistent with the interests of scum. I'll concede it's possible you were just misguided but that argument would fail to deter me from suspecting you.

No, I was reluctant to lynch adam because:

1. I didn't fully believe Swiftwolf's role was a completely sane cop
2. Even under the situation that Swiftwolf was a sane cop, the "note" he found led me to believe that there was more to his role than "har har I'm mafia"
3. People were voting for adam over Wojjan because adam's defense "sucked", even though it's the exact same thing he does every game that he's town. Meanwhile, Wojjan's defense (which actually DID suck) was just "oh yeah there could have been these other roles".

Whatever.

vote: Mashley so he can turn up town and clear me, because otherwise no one will believe anything until Mashley is dead apparently.

Also this makes zero sense. If I was mafia and didn't know his role (in other words, he'd be town in my eyes), then how could I possibly know to protect him to keep a mafia member alive?

I'll say this again: there is ZERO chance adam knew who else was in the mafia, therefore, he didn't have access to scum chat. You can't conclude anything based on who he protects or who protects him. This isn't me claiming mafia and saying this because "I know it's true", this is me stating that in the interests of game balance, you CANNOT give a town player (or "converted to town later" player) the scum list.

On the other hand, now with three data sets, urr, It's still not clear if Mashley's insane or sane, or scum. This makes me largely doubtful that Swift and Mashley coexist as cops and that Mashley got motivated after DxS's death. Quite lurky too. Amd there's also the two guilty results problem.
