I don't understand why it would be necessary to move the mouse sensitivity cursor in osu when you could do that in Windows... Can someone explain to me?

I'm 7/11 in Windows and 1.0x in osu.

changing osu sensitivity wont alter your desktop sensitivity, you may prefer it lower when browsing the net or using other games but higher in osu

changing either one is bad imo, better to change dpi of the mouse
Decay
6/11 = 1:1 movement

6/11 1800dpi 1.0x
Logi
2400 DPI, 6/11 Windows , 1.0x Osu

My DPI setting has been slowly raising since I've started playing. I always feel like I need more speed as soon as I get used to my current setting.

Noob question: How do you change the dpi of your mouse?

its hardware based, so you'll need to use mouse drivers that came with the mouse. cheaper/older mice cant have their dpi changed

ah aite. thanks for the info

I use Logitech G9 .. .1600DPI @ 1280x800 resolution with a 1 ingame sensitivity setting. All that precise stuff turned off as well, it just makes the mouse feel sluggish and overall unresponsive.

5/11 in the windows,

Oh man, I was getting worried that I was the only one who played with windows speed at max. or at least past 7

Windows: 11/11
Osu: It varies.. right now its 1.4 sometimes it goes up to like 2.0
Precision mode. Off. I don't know what it does exactly so.. Meh.

No clue what the DPI is.
Probably crappy.
Tshemmp
windows: 1
osu: 1
dpi: 1600

I used to play with 3200 dpi earlier, but lol this was too high and I switched to 1600 dpi.

Btw: dpi = dots per inch
The higher your mouse dpi is, the more dots will your courser move when you move your mouse (i.e. if you have a dpi-setting of 1000 dpi, your coursor will move 1000 dots far, when you move your mouse 1 inch).
Rewcal
Oh god. Mouse sensativity.

I completely changed it like 5 minutes ago because I'd screwed it up through thinking Windows speed doesn't affect osu! speed. Whoops.

But right now:

Windows = 11/11 Enhanced precision enabled
Osu! = x2.0 Enhanced precision disabled

DPI? No idea, I don't have the option to change it however and this mouse it pretty old, so I'm assuming lowwwww.
pocki_old
3500 dpi

2.7 ingame.

let me call this a lie :D

i don't understand how some people can play with <1000 dpi @ 1, though. it's very hard to reach the corners in short time (very strong arms??? :)))) i play 3200dpi @ 1, 6/11. mouse only!! (i'm still pressing the buttons too hard, so bad at very fast maps)
mathexpert
1600 dpi, at 0.8 ingame. :) (yeah its kinda slow but i like it)
Become Tomato
2400 dpi, x1.
Wumbo
800 dpi
x0.5 in osu

So I guess I play on 400 dpi
Zook
1200 dpi on my logitech mx518
1.0x sensitivity in osu.

Dpi: 1200

osu!: 1.0 (Precision disabled)
SetPoint installed (Using 1000Mhz USB Mouse driver mod though, so SetPoint doesn't even matter :p)
Anzo
0.6x (at 640x480, yeah I suck at 800x600 or higher)
Mouse precision off

Any particular reason why? Like, what does Precision mode exactly do? It sounds like something that should be on :P

(if there's a post that describes it in detail, sry, I didn't see it though :/)

Also, is there a way to make osu!'s mouse acceleration match exactly that of Windows? Or does this happen already when osu! is at 1.0 sensitivity?
Swatty
Mouse DPI : idk :D maybe 1200 >_>
Windows : 8/11
osu! : 1,2x
Resolution : 1024x768

Not that fast.. I've got used to it very quickly ;)
CVCHIEZI
When i was a mouse player, i used:
1200 dpi
5/11 Windows speed
1.2x osu! speed.

Changed mouse some days ago...

3/11 windows

It slows the cursor on rapid movement kinda. Something like that.

I'm using 5/10 windows (it's like 6/11 but the driver has 10 notches instead) and 800dpi with 1.0 in game.
With that precision thingy enabled, really high spaced jumps are a problem to hit. So I am not using it.
Ekaru
For those of you saying to not use osu!'s mouse precision mode:

You're just losing accuracy by not having it on. osu!'s mouse precision mode is just a bug fix. It corrects a rounding error that osu! makes by default that causes you to lose accuracy.

In fact, because it's just a bug fix, the toggle is being removed altogether and it's being forced to "on" by default next update (Check the changelog for yourself, and don't worry, you can force it off by inserting a line in the config file, though there's not much reason to for most people).

That Windows' crap, though? Yeah, turn that shit off.
