There's speculation it's for a Halloween episode. One of the directors accidentally said there was a "scary" episode planned already. And this image was also leaked yesterday (on /co/).
There are also rumors it could be someone impersonating Luna. Or not Luna. I don't get why people care that much, I'm looking forward to just watching the show. Spoilers suck.

We didn't get enough time in the summer to talk about it but as school started up we planned to watch it together. During some of the classes we hit it off, apparently we had a lot in common. It was wonderful until I talked about her to a friend in which I expressed clear interest in her and he then proceeded to ask her out when he knew very well I wanted to do the same thing. Hopefully we'll be able to meet up later this school year to watch that MLP marathon we've been planning for months.

I haven't mentioned it to anybody, but my older sister (who doesn't actually live with me) would probably be first if I cared. She's internet savvy enough, and knowledge of that sort of thing wouldn't change any of her opinions because she's not a whore. My brothers (twin and elder) just called me a ponyfag when I told them I had started watching MLP, and refused to listen to what I have to say (and they're obviously never downloading nor even watching it). My little brother would just laugh, but not watch it either (it's in english anyway he wouldn't even understand it), and my parents would be genuinely worried and ask me if I am gay or transexual or something for watching girls' cartoons. *young* girls' cartoons on top of that. They wouldn't even try to listen to what I have to say either. regarding the show and would most probably try to prevent me from watching it.

Sounds like SOMEPONY isn't assertive/manly/bearded enough, to me. Judging people isn't my strong suit, but looking people straight in the face and saying "Yes, I watch My Little Pony" unflinchingly is something that a man just has to do sometimes.
