Well technically, there's nothing stopping people from chatting outside the thread after death in regular mafia games either, but people still don't. I think if it's made a rule then people will respect it.

Talking after death gives a HUGE advantage to informative roles as they don't have to worry about being NK'd before revealing their results.
I know for a fact that people have broken my talking outside of games / after death rule in my mafia games.

I'll make a post if I decide to disallow talking after death. Right now it's not really easy to enforce and since people broke that rule in a game where breaking it means being modkilled or banned from future games, I don't feel like even trying in this one.

For the people who didn't bother to read through the entire OP, this is the same as Mafia but with the following modifications:
-no restrictions on discussion (you may PM, chat in IRC, etc.)
-roles are not revealed upon death (only the coroner is given this information)
-lynches only occur at the end of the day (so no hammer after >50% votes)

btw isn't Insomniac a bit op? I can't see the bad part of the role , i mean you can call you never sleep and you get the name of all the wolves , and u don't even have to take a gambit to see if you hit one (I've been reading some of the Mafia games out here so i have a bit of information on how the games are , still never seen or played games anywhare else lol).

double posting to say that I haven't really done much other than a very basic setup of the actual IRC daemon, and (hopefully) set it so that more than 3 mibbit connections are allowed. If I disconnect I believe the op goes to the person who has been in the server longest. Please don't abuse this or I will just can the whole fucking thing. Thank you.

confused about what? 2 people have pm'd me a roleclaim

the concept is this:

1. mass claiming wins games

2. people don't mass claim because of possible negative side effects

3. mass claiming to 1 person, assuming that person is town, eliminates all negative side effects

4. the person claimed to can also act as a proxy, and so is a perfect fit for a civilian (to entice a night kill)

I don't really want to trust Two just yet. Wolves would benefit a whole lot from knowing who the roles are much more than a pro-town player.
The wolves will probably roleclaim as a vanilla townie/civilian in order to hide behind the few players that have to claim as that role or actually have that role. If everyone does roleclaim to you, wont' that raise suspicion to the wolves and get you NK'd? The Angel may or may not protect you depending on if they believe you're pro-town or not. Pro-town players will most likely give you correct roleclaims, so we don't need to worry about that.

Too much WIFOM!

If you were the vigilante, this would make this easier.

I've never seen that PM the role thing , is that even doable? .. i find it hard to trust people if i'm not 100% sure they're town anyways , and D1 it's not helping much cause it's being really quiet .. the day seems long enough to get some conclusions tho , but it'll be better to seize it


I can't gather much infornation just yet about players .. i'll try to do my best when i can give my opinion .. but now there aren't lots of pots to get it.

The only way you can believe I'm a wolf is if you believe either chris is human or we both are wolves. You only hint at being vigilante if you are a vigilante or you're a wolf. Hence, chris is a wolf.

We are just assuming that Chris was hinting to be a Vig while there is still a possibility he could have different roles. I don't think it's right to think "This, thus that" at this point. So, I'm not sending my role to you until Chris confirms (and even that, I would feel comfortable to just send it to Chris)

There's no and/or option? I guess it makes sense with how Chris reacted. (Semi-meta) I've always thought Chris would play similar to how you do and expected him to be less direct about his role. There's the possibility of him being a wolf, but I'm not sure yet. bmin pretty much has the same reasoning as I do.
