really, really happy with this change. the old spotlights were
a.) only supplied for enough in standard. for ctb there often weren't options since there were only 2-3 mapsets released that month. for taiko and mania there might've been a few more but not enough too have that good of an option.
b.) filling up all the medal space. it's good for people like me who like getting medals to have some frequently new farmable ones, but if this continued for another 2-3 years like 50% of all medals would be spotlight packs. bhooohoo.
c.) interesting to really no one regarding the charts. maybe with a bigger cycle the chart ranking gains at least a slight bit in meaning.
d.) not as kewl as seasonal. a snowflake is kewler than a 11.
The charts are indeed uninteresting at the moment mainly due to the lack of prizes (let's be honest, a supporter is useless). My aim is to significantly boost those, ranking on the user's profile, badge, title, etc. There are several plans, everything depends on the osu!team mainly because unfortunately, I have no way to make them happen.
