Metadata Note:

From the source, the title is 旬のシーフードを活かしたカレー風味パエリア ~808シェフのTwerkとTrap仕立て~ ~808

osu gave an error when uploading the map saying the title is too long, so I deleted the ~808 off of the end. If there is a way around this error then I will fix it but for now I'd rather have the song title be slightly inaccurate instead.

This source also lists the track name as just 旬のシーフードを活かしたカレー風味パエリア ~808シェフのTwerkとTrap仕立て~ so I think this is completely fine.

Disqualified so #2633975 #2634004 and #2633923 can be fixed.

Especially the romanised title issue, it's best fixed ASAP as changing it means people can't update for changes made in-game if they have the old incorrect version.

permalink

title changed to match the ranked taiko set, all tags added and additionally "~Shitate" and "Instrumental" added to tags. changed the on-site language to "Instrumental"

permalink
Marked as resolved by Silverboxer

shouldn't the title be seafood / paella / chef like https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/937726#taiko/1958813 ?

permalink

how's it going shefu

permalink

master shefu

permalink

Are loanwords usually translated without translating the rest of the song title?

permalink

loanwords are written in their respective language

permalink

aw noodles

permalink

So the corrected title should be "Shun no Seafood o Ikashita Curry Fuumi Paella ~808 Chef no Twerk to Trap Shitate~" right? I know the taiko set has the last word as Jitate but I think Shitate is used way more often for this word.

permalink

u have to be consistent w/ what's ranked unless it's wrong and 937726#1050100 i guess this explains it in some way?

they put the other way in tags

permalink

my daily metadata int

permalink

this word is read as したて (shitate) and not じたて (jitate), even tasuke agreed it should be shi on the other post. if you want a little bit more confirmation, this is the most popular japanese to english dictionary and it has it listed as したて (shitate):

i initially posted a jisho link here but the unicode got fucked up, so just paste 仕立て on jisho.org and you will see that it is written here as したて (shitate)

permalink

Agreed with Matrix, if you type "jitate" on a Japanese keyboard, you don't get a single result for 仕立て, you get 自縦.
If you however type "shitate", you get 仕立て, just like how it's supposed to be.

I have no idea how the Taiko Set passed with such a blatant metadata error, but stuff happens.

permalink

there are actually some instances where it can be read as jitate in compound words such as にわか仕立て「にわかじたて」, though i'm rather confident that's not how it is read in this instance.

permalink

There are many instances where one kanji can turn into another when being merged with other kanji, like 叢雲 (Murakumo).
叢 on it's own is read like Kusamura, but with 雲 added, it turns into Murakumo.

にわか仕立て is incorrect by the way, the kanji being there is very important, hiragana does not make it apply. It still returns as "niwaka shitate", but if it uses 俄仕立て/俄か仕立て, then that's where the "niwaka jitate" reading applies.

permalink

Anyways, the correct romanized title should be:

「Shun no Shiifuudo wo Ikashita Karee Fuumi Paeria ~ 808 Shefu no Twerk to Trap Shitate ~」

Or the version with the English-ified loanwords

「Shun no Seafood wo Ikashita Curry Fuumi Paella ~ 808 Chef no Twerk to Trap Shitate ~」

permalink

にわか仕立て isn't incorrect and it's absolutely read like that, you can check weblio if you don't believe me. https://i.imgur.com/VHIkAr9.png

permalink

No objections about that then, that was a mistake on my part. Thought it was an important factor, but it really doesn't matter when the hiragana clearly refers to the kanji that turns "shitate" into "jitate" in the end.

permalink

Loan words are required to be written like the original language on osu as per the RC, so it must be Seafood / Curry / Paella / Chef for those words.

So
Shun no Seafood o Ikashita Curry Fuumi Paella ~808 Chef no Twerk to Trap Shitate~
yes

permalink

bruh how do you int romanization that badly

permalink

thank you mordred

permalink

I am being given the error that the title is too long. I currently have "Shun no Seafood o Ikashita Curry Fuumi Paella ~808 Chef no Twerk to Trap Shitate~" as the song title. Shall I just remove the last tilde in favor of keeping Shitate as the correct spelling?

permalink

It shouldn't be too long as to my knowledge it's 81 and the limit is 81? Could you post the error message.

and dropping it should work, but make sure Shitate~ is in tags

permalink

For anyone else that might read through this, the error message was this: https://i.imgur.com/JtLmCId.png

Even though the song title is 81 characters long, it still gave this error. But somehow it still submitted the map? Because on the website it shows the title without the tilde, but I did a clean download of the map and in-game the title had the tilde. I think this might be a bug so rather than deal with that, I am going to remove the tilde after all to avoid errors / more nonsense.

Final song title will be "Shun no Seafood o Ikashita Curry Fuumi Paella ~808 Chef no Twerk to Trap Shitate"

i think Jitate was the correct way of reading in japanese. i read Jitate when i first saw the title. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rendaku
this is called 連濁(Rendaku), read this for details.

permalink
Reopened by BaAR_Vendel

okay I'm gonna stop changing the song title until more people weigh in on what
BaAR_Vendel brought up, but also this would kinda simplify everything now that we are full circle and the optimal song title would be the same as the ranked taiko set

permalink

i agree with BaAR_Vendel. i dont have a definite source, but ive never called it shitate when using the word "仕立て" at the end of a dish name (it may actually exist, i just dont know), so for example, 和風仕立て (wafuu jitate), 吉野仕立て (yoshino jitate), and this song title also has a dish in mind, so i think it should be jitate.

permalink

what a big discussion here

permalink

Thank you, I changed it to Jitate~
This also fixes the character limit issue with this shorter title so everything should be fine now.

Disqualified 7 hours ago by Noffy with new problem #2634132 (Disqualified so #2633975 https://o...).

permalink

The tags are missing additional info that I think would be good adding in, so I'd add these whenever possible.

「Masaya Oya 大箭将也 Bang Reverse Revenge of Riot BLUE TURTLE fluX Xroise menaXe inXonnu SKETCH UP! Rec. Recordings GECD-019 M3 Spring 2016 M3春2016 M3-37」

"Masaya Oya 大箭将也 Bang Reverse Revenge of Riot BLUE TURTLE fluX Xroise menaXe inXonnu" are related to Camellia's other aliases, and the rest is related to the album's label, CD cat, and the event where it has been released.

permalink

ok now this map actually will have the longest tags ever, god damn

permalink

I added all of these as they are written here. God help us if there is something wrong in here

Another point that I want to bring up is the song being labeled as "English" under "Language".
The song in no way has any supporting English Vocals to justify this, so why is it using English, when it should be Instrumental instead?

Virtually every doujin music producer uses Voice SFX in their songs that are very often than not in English.
That does not count the songs as automatically being English, USAO's songs being a very good example of this. (see USAO's Dynamite: https://osu.ppy.sh/beatmapsets/431697#osu/990396)

The English Voice SFX in this song were never meant to be the main or one of the main parts of the song, they are meant to be there as an addition to the song to add more depth and flavor to the composition.

Should add the romanised title to tags

permalink

Also "j-core"

permalink

world's longest tags incoming

permalink

actually wait, what is the reason to add the romanized title to the tags? if it's because the title is truncated, the only part missing is a "~808" at the end, which already appears in the shortened version of the track title.

permalink

Just helps with searachability, some people (aka me) just type "seafood" in the search bar whenever I look for this song but this set doesn't show up

permalink

added "Curry Flavored Paella made with Seasonal Seafood ~808 Chef's Twerk and Trap Tailoring ~ ~808" as the english translated title to the tags

all of da 1/7 are 1/8?

permalink

i will go through all diffs and listen closely again. It really sounds like some of them are 1/7 but when mapped actively we chose to use 1/6. I'll make a full list of where it happens so people can decide if i'm stupid or not

permalink

Hpocks Mild Sauce & Insane:
00:46:450 (3) - 1/7 repeat
00:55:177 (3) - 1/7 repeat
01:03:905 (3) - 1/7 repeat
01:12:632 (3) - 1/7 repeat

Spicy Extra:
00:46:450 (2,3,4) - 1/8 triple
00:55:177 (1,2,3) - 1/8 triple
01:03:905 (3) - 1/6 repeat
01:12:632 (3) - 1/6 repeat

Ancel & Paella:
all 1/6 triples for the same 4 time codes

I personally think 1/7 matches the sound the closest but I certainly wouldn't want to map active 1/7 notes in any of the difficulties. I also am leaning more towards 1/6 than 1/8 if we have to choose one. But I'll wait for your opinion or someone else's before changing them

permalink

They're definietely 1/7 but yeah I feel simplifying these snaps on the top diffs to 1/6 or 1/8 still sounds alright for the sake of playability

I'd keep the 1/7 on the low diffs wherever they're passive though

copy paste from modding verifier :D

Missing genre/language in tags.
Missing genre tag ("rock", "pop", "electronic", etc), ignore if none fit.

"soft-hitfinish2.wav" may be obnoxious without custom samples. Used most frequently leading up to 03:55:832 (2) - in [Hpocks' Mild Sauce].

permalink

fixed tags, I listed without custom samples and it sounds fine to me (and it's the same in other diffs anyway)
