00:08:887 (1) - would end the Spinner at 00:10:122 - and start at 00:10:299 -

00:15:152 (3) - You should make this note red for consistency, (in order to be the same as 00:12:240 (4,5,6) - ) It will also fit the rhythm better

00:15:769 (1) - you can move this note to 00:15:593 in order to have a clean lil pause here. Having this blue note which is not representing really anything is making the next note (00:15:946 (2) - ) less impactant while it's on a white tick

permalink

It is representing a sound though. I tried with your suggestion but I prefer how it is rn

00:23:799 (4) - You can make this note red for consitency, this is a lot of k in a row :)

permalink

Done, good cause now I dont have the same pattern twice in a row

00:26:887 (1,2) - weird having these notes be 1/6th when the exact same sound is a single 1/4 less than a second before at 00:26:534, i'd just delete 00:26:946 (2) -

permalink

I think both the 1/6 doublets were fine tbh, but maybe it's better without them and you're right. Done

00:26:887 (1) - You should make this note red in order to differentiate it with 00:27:240 (2,3) - . This is not really the same sound and this is kinda confusing to take those different sounds in the same bag

permalink

I'm trying to follow the pitch here so a blue fits better imo. I changed 00:27:593 (3) - though so we really feel the descending sound

changed 00:27:593 (3) - to a red *

permalink

00:29:446 (3,4,5,6,7) - This pattern starting and ending on blue-ticks feels very out of place

Option 1: Delete 00:29:799 (7) -
Option 2: make the pattern go further until 00:30:064 (1) -

permalink

Good idea

00:31:828 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - you can make this pattern ddkddkk to fit the pitch variation better

permalink

The pitch is only ascending imo, but your suggestion feels better anyway

00:32:946 bit off having the 1/6th note in the oni but not in top diff

permalink

I think both the 1/6 doublets were fine tbh, but maybe it's better without them and you're right. Done

00:33:946 (2) - you can make this note red to have a more enojoyable pattern. Also, it precisely corresponds a little more to the pitch variation. The sound is closer to 00:33:769 (1) - than to 00:34:122 (3) -

00:46:299 (6,7,8,9) - you can make this kddk for consistency, 4 d in a row might be a lil too much idk

permalink

00:51:946 (4,5,6,7) - same here etc etc

permalink

I dont think 4 reds in a row is a problem, and I prefer to keep it like it is because I have the same sound at 00:47:711 (8,9,10,11) -

permalink

Nvm I didnt read your next suggestion, done

permalink

00:47:711 (8,9,10,11) - and then you can make this dkkd in order to keep that structure through your patterning. ddkk and kkdd patterns are good but they are not really impactant since the penultimate note is the same color as the last one.

permalink

done too

You can make this note 00:49:564 (12) - blue to fit the pitch variation more accuratly. You will also end up with a stronger rhythm kiai :)

permalink
permalink

I may be wrong here, but septuplets are already pretty hard for an Oni ? So changing colors too much during this pattern may be too much ?

permalink

that's fine !

permalink

Ok, that's how I wanted this pattern to look at first but I thought it was maybe too hard, done

I understand your idea of pitch-mapping, but i would suggest to make 00:49:828 (15) - blue to change the pattern up at least a bit, and since the pitch is going up there it should still be fine for your concept

permalink

01:01:122 (15) - Same idea here

permalink

I first put a lot of d here because it is an Oni so I thought it must be easy, but a k at the end feels great too imo, done

00:56:887 (2) - You need to make this note blue to :

  1. Represent te pitch
  2. Mark a break here, ending on a strong sound
  3. For consistency, a lot of red in a row
permalink

01:19:475 (5) - same here

permalink

I dont like with a k because it's the same sound as 00:57:240 (3) - So I will keep it a d

permalink
Marked as resolved by Madeline

01:23:269 (2) - You need to move this note to 01:23:622 to fit the music properly

permalink

good suggestion, done

permalink

01:30:681 (2) - this is kinda dense for a oni imo, atleast for a non kiai section. You can delete this note for a better rhtyhm sense and a lighter section

permalink

Yeah I already nerfed this part some time ago, but tbf those are mostly triplets and they are pretty easy I would say. Your suggestion is nice though, done

permalink
Marked as resolved by Madeline

01:39:064 (1,1) - I think that those sounds kinda need to be mapped, a kddk 1/2 quadruplet should make it, it will make the transition between the previous section and this one smoother

permalink

Not sure what you're speaking of here

permalink

Oh ok nvm, great suggestion

permalink
Marked as resolved by Madeline

I put a d k k D instead, to keep the finisher

permalink

02:05:446 (4,2) - You should make those two notes blue for consistency
