[!] shouldn't there be spaces between the star in the romanised title according to this? https://bns.are-la.me/6uo9AAL.png

here's what unicode title looks like for reference: 大盛り一丁!ガルパ☆ピコ (Cut Ver.)

permalink

if this gets dqd i can substitute stefan on this (unless someone else wants to)

permalink

I can

Extending the name of the title might cause the problem like #2509925 to be expanded to the other difficulties as well.

At first, I intended to use this metadata technical rules

  • Metadata that exceeds the field's limits (81 characters) must be shortened. Start by dropping additional markers and if this still is not sufficient, indicate that the title has been shortened using ... in a sensible place.

...to let the mapset can be updated without problem.

However, on the latest update with title change as suggested, no problem is found yet. So let's stick with your suggestion for now.

I hope that editor don't fucked me again.

I believe a little bit of volume arrangement can be made.
00:06:343 ~ 00:18:122 - has the most number of sounds playing so it is 100%,
but afterwards I find that keeping at 100% outshines the voice in the music a little bit too much, perhaps 90% or 95% should work

permalink

I will change my volume in my difficulty to 90% constantly.
For guest difficulty, it will be according to the owner's decision.

permalink

I don't use 100% volume.

permalink

So how about Zeth and Blackener?

permalink

I've provided my own volume (not constant 100%)

permalink

just saw this holy fuck LOL
requested tyis to change it to constant 90% volume (same as tyis's diff)

permalink

Zeth asked me to change the volume to constant 90%

oddly specific but the file name for Blacken's INNER ONI should be renamed, it is missing the dot at (Cut Ver.). According to MV it may causes problems if you want to update the difficulty.

permalink

long filename moment

permalink

Blame character limit on file's name.

Gigabrian solution: Diffname Blacken's INNER ONI -> Blacken's URA ONI

permalink

Also BEGINNER -> SHOSHINSHA because new meta diff name

permalink

[OD Setting]

Perhaps raise OD for Muzukashii and Oni by 0.5? Since the song is rather intense and the density is high, I think it would fit better.

permalink

Kinda prefer to allow some leniency for the newbie taiko player here.

[Metadata] Use this space to discuss further about metadata.

There is argument on what to use for romanised title whether using..

  1. Ohmori Icchou! Garupa*Pico
    or
  2. Ohmori Icchou! GARUPA*PICO

Currently official source (#1569234) doesn't suggest romanised title as the song has not been officially released yet. Though some common sense can be made based on title of the anime and the ending theme of first season.

Reference:

I genuinely think that "pico" should be capitalized as it is consistently used on all sources that I have looked until now. I am not so sure about the "garupa" part though.

We can wait for the song release for more accurate metadata but there is chance that the album picture may not include romanised title as first season song does.

I want to know others' opinion on this matter to further make sure which one is more correct to be used as romanised title.

permalink

I'm also aware of this concern but the question this, "Can we assume the metadata from its consistency when there are no primary sources suggested it?" which Ranking Criteria didn't support this kind of assumption (or didn't mention it).

We actually need more discussion regarding this.

permalink

Given that the mini anime BanG Dream! ガルパ☆ピコ~大盛り~ on YouTube is BanG Dream! Girls Band Party!☆PICO~OHMORI~. It does show how ガルパ☆ピコ is Girls Band Party☆PICO in English. Also from the release of the song from BanG Dream! ガルパ☆ピコ,「ピコっと!パピっと!!ガルパ☆ピコ!!!」, on their English site it is 'Pico! Papi! Girls Band Party☆PICO!!!'
https://en.bang-dream.com/music/212/
https://bang-dream.com/discographies/396
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tsmf4dkigbw

Rather than GARUPAPICO, I'd say Girls Band PartyPICO

permalink

^ I second this, it definitely makes more sense to follow the pattern of the official English romanisation that was used for the first season especially since the words in question are exactly the same

permalink

According to metadata allowance, using english translation should be optional in this case as both of them are official sources and since we romanised the "Ohmori Icchou!" as Japanese romanisation, using "Girls Band Party*PICO" which is english translation would look weird and inconsistent (and there is no sources backing this as the song has not been officially released yet).

Also, considering we used japanese romanisation for the theme from first season, I think it would be better to be consistent with the usage and "GARUPA*PICO" is clearly stated on the album picture which can be used here by common sense as the songs come from same anime.

permalink

Quoting the rule on Ranking Criteria:
"Official Sources must be used as references for metadata unless none are available. In that case use what is most common and recognizable."

Since primary source (official website for this song / album picture in-game) did not suggest romanised title, but the secondary source does (album picture from SS1 song which the font usage is consistent to this song / anime scene that suggested capitalized of the word "GARUPA*PICO" (https://cdn.discordapp.com/attachments/691517240956158073/710830122571399228/unknown.png))

I'm willing to head in this direction and changing the romanised title from "Ohmori Icchou! GarupaPico" to "Ohmori Icchou! GARUPAPICO"

I will resolve this post once I update the map.

BEEP BEEP IT'S OFFICIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
https://bang-dream.com/discographies/1854

The title will be changed to
OHMORI ICCHO! GARUPA*PICO

As the album picture suggested capitalization of the word "Ohmori Icchou" and it omitted "u" for some reason.

GARUPA*PICO will remain capitalization as per the discussion above.

I will change the metadata once I'm available!

permalink
Reopened by Tyistiana

Also Tyistiana, please add "op opening" to the tags as well because HOW

permalink

All capitalized letters haha.

Even using "ohmori" is not the result of hepburn romanisation method, so guess it makes sense for the latter as well.

permalink

It should be "ed ending" instead. Do you even consider my tags recommendation somehow? I am sad.

permalink

@ Roger
I already include "ed ending" in the tags.

But in the MV, it actually mentioned that it is "オープニングテーマ" (Read: opening theme). So, I think that adding both should be alright for this case then.

Still, how did the official consider this as the opening theme song when it plays at the end lol

permalink

Same as the first season, it was literally ending. I guess we can remove both altogether?

Consider the song as "theme song" only maybe for the best.

Needless to say, waiting for official release was the right idea. It prevented wrong metadata for ranked content.

permalink

I think that having both "opening" and "ending" in the tags is not misleading somehow.

I mean, it's "ending" for the audience who believe that ending is the song that plays at the end of the series.
And, "opening" for the audience who strictly followed official information.

That way, whoever that search for this map with any kind of belief in mind will be able to search the map

permalink

Affirmative. Also, add "Icchou" to tags instead as the alternative way of romanisation method.

permalink

Roger!

Reminder for dumb Tyistiana:

Title: OHMORI ICCHO! GARUPA*PICO
Tags addition: op opening icchou

permalink

I have been suspecting romanised title to be full caps as well. Glad the released CD confirmed my thinking

Roger vs. Tyistiana: Anime Metadata War (Episode 4)

..has come to an end. See you next week!

I didn't realise there was more discussion after I posted. On the point of mixing english translation and romanisation, that is not the case. ガルパ is a contraction of a loan word, the same way リモコン is remote control or テレビ being television. Using Girls Band Party is perfectly fine alongside romanizing the other parts, as seen when they did so for that other song in the earlier season.

Album covers and images don't really mean much when it can easily be stylistic, just like how you see on this cover as an example https://sarazanmai-bddvd.com/img/cd_img02.jpg

As to the reference of the song in the first season, an official source has come out with it stating what it would be, there is no longer a need to be forced into using a general romanization when the capitalization itself isn't really showcased by anything other than images

permalink
Reopened by neonat

I'm not so sure about the first point. I know that it is loan word, though since first season song does state it on the album cover I think we can use it in normal manner as it is official by itself. Now that I think about it again, changing it to the english translation doesn't look that weird so I guess it is optional on this case.

Album covers and image do mean to some extends, it can easily be done by stylistic but that's not always the case. The album cover for this song does use both small and capital characters so I think it is not done as style but intention from source itself, so the example you use doesn't really relevant with this case I guess.

I still think album covers and such still matters to some extends, at least for this song.

permalink

First, thank you for your input again! owo

It could be true that using "Girls Band Party" should be fine as some of the secondary sources suggested this romanisation as well. But, I still think that current title is fine as well.

  1. To keep the title consistent to the ranking section
  1. Some of the secondary sources suggested this romanisation

TL;DR - I think that it's optional but I prefer to keep it consistent to ranking section

(Created separated post to prevent confusion from different topic and too long post)

May I suggest adding (TV Size) marker back like before?

According to Ranking Criteria stating

If a song contains matching sections to the TV size "in the same order", and is "roughly the same" length as the official cut song, the mapset's edit will also count as a TV Size,

Currently your edit is matching the same order (with some additional parts) and pretty much close to original TV Size version yet pretty far from the full version (considering 37 seconds and 1.48 minute). Hence this song is considered TV-sized as well.

Adding (TV Size) marker will also prevent misinterpretation that this map contains full version which current version is not even close to the full version in length.

permalink

The existence of additional parts is already enough to judge that this is different version, and 7 seconds is not roughly same.

Instead adding (TV Size) marker will just bring confusion as player will expect exact same/really similar thing as the original song.

permalink

Fair enough

permalink
Marked as resolved by Blackener

Wait, I was still editing my post why you resolve lol.

Additional comment:
Also, according to TV Size definition on ranking criteria, it is not valid as this version is not used on the show. Though "cut version" can be optionally added to tags field to reduce confusion a bit.
