why do you have to resort to trashtalking to express your opinion/concern, when you can be much more civil and discuss healthily with each other?

because even talking in a civil way doesn't seem to solve the issue as i have read the entire beatmap discussion. a player came over in the thread and expressed a good opinion and he was dismissed by some of the people in the discussion.

secondly, very bold of you to say "absolutely nobody cares about full song representation"; as it's both untrue to what you wanna slander to, and untrue to a good portion of the mapping community overall. if the map doesn't match the song, is it going to be a rhythm game?

yes, it is bold of me to assume that, and i am aware that it may not be true for the mapping community. the people who are going to eventually play these maps do not care about full song representation. yes, different concepts exist, i know there are ranking criteria, but you also have to take into account whether players will enjoy that full song representation or not. i've also seen maps that do not match the song, those are called dump maps. those map contain graces and ghost notes.

finally, knowing that mania has a much bigger attention to graveyarded maps than any other mode, it would probably be less of an issue if this map is not ranked. the concept being good, and the concept being fitting for ranked, are two entirely different matters.

yes, that attention is real, because some of these graveyarded maps are more interesting to play and in some aspects, they have a good concept. the concept being good should also make the map fitting for ranked, because if you're expecting a good concept and a concept for ranking, it will take a long while before those 2 criteria are achieved. have you seen how much difficult maps take 6 months, a year, or even 2 years to rank? this in itself is blasphemy to me.

i've also checked and played the maps you sent. i fully agree for the first map, but for the second map it is barely noticeable or not at all for the people ultimately choosing to play the map.

old-style mapping can be executed better than just displaying it through jumptrills.

yes, that's true, however that better display might make the map susceptible to farming since the patterns will be mashable and therefore easier to hit. the oldschool style is unique in itself and coinciding with the graveyarded popularity part of this reply, it attracts players from all walks of life to play the maps made in that era. it is a unique style and the feeling of it is hard to replicate.
