In the previous owc, great dispute ensued the semi-final match between Korea and Taiwan because it was unclear as to which result was the final result, the scores from the multiplayer screen or the scores from the MP history page. This comes down to whether we count scores by failed players or not. Personally I think we should also count failed scores, but this is up to the staff and should be decided/announced in public before the tournament starts.fartownik wrote:

If failed scores will be counted too, make it 0.5x.KRZY wrote:

So when a player is nervous and makes a huge fuck up we will have to think it's because of lag/hardware malfunction?Luna wrote:
I think failed scores should count. Really, if you fail because of lag/hardware malfunction or something similar, why should your score be ignored?
And if you fail a map you should usually pass, your score will already likely be lower than your opponent's.
So if he's fullcombo and fucks up right in the last notes he will have more score than someone who didn't make a good combo but didn't lose? Multiplayer ranks non-failed players and failed players in different categories and I think that's how this should be. In this case either don't count that player score or count it as 0,5x.Luna wrote:
No, if he is nervous and makes a huge fuck-up his score will already be pretty bad. Why remove that?
Yeah, except Cookiezi in the last OWC, despite failing from a hardware malfunction, had more score than I believe the top two players on the other team combined about half-way through the final map. I still think Korea should have won that match.Metro wrote:

Me too because rules were unclear but we have time now to make clear rules.Kyou-kun wrote:

Also JesusYamato in Ukraine is bullshit. Playing in a different country makes him a mercenary and this is supposed to be a World Cup.
I'm not talking about players of different countries playing for a certain country. This is about a player who played for France last year now playing for Ukraine. Makes me wonder about what country will he play in next year and wether this is a world cup or just another tournament.gorlum wrote:

Mmkay.
Bro, you have enough active players for your country. Unfortunately not every country capable of creating own team, but everyone wants to play. Don't you think that your opinion is a little bit selfish?Metro wrote:

This is not about my opinion. It's about what's right and wrong for a world cup and a player switching COUNTRIES is wrong.gorlum wrote:

I'll just keep on searching in other countries, i guess.
STOP LOOKING FOR PEOPLE FROM OTHER COUNTRIES. The ONLY place you need to look at is this: http://osu.ppy.sh/p/playerranking?c=UAKRZY wrote:
I'm with Metro here. San Marino does not team up with Malta to play in the Euro. Andryi Shevchenko did not play for Russia because he wanted to play in the World Cup; neither did Goran Pandev or Ryan Giggs. Helll, Ukraine even qualified for the World Cup in 2006, you should know that cuz it's your own country.
I think we should be very strict about not allowing the formation of multinational teams. Every country can find four players. EVERY COUNTRY CAN.
Final decision, of course, is up to the staff.

» Important rule changes between 1st and 2nd edition:
1. 3 maps won by one of the teams gives them a match win. Not 2 maps like it was in the 1st edition.
2. The final maps will be choosen more carefully this time.
3. The teams will be divided into 8 groups of 4 teams each. 2 teams with the largest amount of points passes into the next stage.
4. The additional back-up players are not necessary, but we still prefer if you have at least 1 if there's a possibility.
5. Timezone needed in the post of team sign-up.
If you have any questions/suggestions, feel free to ask in this thread or pm me or Lunah directly.

Anyway, the players should represent their own country. What would be the point of japanese players playing for norway for example. if we then won, it wouldn't really be a win for Norway, right?

Edit: Also about counting failed scores - they won't be counted. Might be a little unfair for players with shitty hardware, but counting them would cause unwanted rumble. The MP history doesn't show if the player failed or not, still there's not place in the room for an additional judge to keep it all just. This also breaks 0,5x score counting plan too. This is an official decision and please don't mention this topic anymore. This is self-contradictory. You would need additional judges in the game room to see which players failed and which ones did not, but there's no room. You don't need additional judges if you count failed scores because they show up on the webpage all the same.
You're right. Again. We will invent something. We have 2 options of making screenshots by 1 of the captains or use the stream to see which player failed (2nd option would be kinda complicated). Gonna re-think it soon.Lybydose wrote:

1st round of the groupstage lasts from 21st November to 28th November. The matches will be played on the weekend mostly, but the date can be also set individually according to a team/teams.Lybydose wrote:
