#osu opens up whenever you start the game, regardless of whether you closed it during your last session. It should behave just like any other normal channel, and only reopen upon startup if it was opened last time. There are hundreds of thousands of players who play other gamemodes, and if you don't play osu! standard or don't want to deal with the cancer of #osu, you just end up closing the chat every time you start the game. It shouldn't behave as a special channel. Maybe just having it default to opening the first time you run osu! so new players know where to talk, and then behave like any other channel would be a good solution. A problem with this might be that since Peppy only announces things like bancho resets in #osu, players won't be able to see them if its not open, but fixing that is an entirely different problem.
TL;DR: Me and other players hate it how #osu always opens when the game starts even though we don't care about or use that chat.

It takes one second to close, big woop. (or just ignore it completely) ;)

Make #osu as a setting for auto join on startup

#osu is still the main channel of the game regardless of its content so it stays like that.
