Bloodbath diff

  1. I'm not good with offset myself, but +12ms sounds much better. Make sure to re-snap all notes and re-snap timing points once you change it!
  2. 00:00:104 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) - The beginning sounds off, but I have no idea how to fix it. Might want to look into a fix (Maybe even skip this part completely?)
  3. 00:08:900 (12) - Why not change this to a slider and continue the stream pattern from before it?
  4. 00:39:086 - Add circle
  5. 00:52:974 (8) - This slider sounds better if you switch it with the circle at 00:52:604 (7) -
  6. 00:56:863 (1) - There are no sliders from here until the next timing point and it doesn't look nor play very well. Try replacing some of the circles with sliders?
  7. 01:49:641 (1) - Try using sliders to fill these gaps.
  8. 01:51:493 (8,9,10) - Unnecessary triple. Change it or remove 01:51:586 (9) -
  9. 01:51:863 (11) - This doesn't need to be here.

First, the background should be different, not a geometry dash pic XD

At the beginning, I think you should put soft audio, until you hear the beats and sounds, then make it louder. The notes that are one tick away from each other should be spread out more to create jumps, instead of having notes in a line. For the sliders, speperate them from each other, and not keep them close from time to time. At 02:32:234, Makee the notes 5, 6, 1, 2, 3, and 4 either a combo together, or 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2.

Bloodbath
Streams, streams everywhere, which is fine, I think that only the sliders in the beginning should be mirrored, and them soft audio to.

I'm not very good at English so I hope you'll understand me
I'll mod the Insane level for you
Anyway, let's begin

-Hitsounds-
First of all, don't set your hitsounds to 100% all the time, it's hard for players to concentrate on the music if hitsounds are in the way, try to set your hitsounds to around 40%
I highly recommend setting your hitsounds to soft instead of normal, normal sounds are very irritating and I personally think soft sounds fits the song better
Your special hitsounds have room for improvement, use the one that I highlighted with blue and try to replicate the song's instrument as much as possible

-Design-
Your map doesn't have any storyboard so go to song setup/design and turn off the widescreen support
Your First and Third Combo color kinda blend in with the background, this makes players hard to see their combos especially some that uses certain skins, I recommend changing it
Your 2nd and 4th combos are a bit bright in my opinion, I personally think making it darker would fits the song's tone better but make sure it doesn't go lower than 30 luminousity

Insane
00:00:104 (1) - From here to 00:05:567 are quite slow, chage this section's slider velocity
00:00:104 (1,3) - these 2 sliders are quite long, make it special
00:47:974 (4,5,6) - You shouldn't make cross screen jumps like this in insane according to the guidelines either move it to the correct spot it or stack it

00:54:456 (3,4) - Same ^

02:17:049 (13,14) - Your combos shouldn't past 12 combos

Bloodbath: Combo Colours: May want to make the darker red, a little bit lighter, because at some points the approach circles blend into the background and it makes the players experience harder and a tad less enjoyable.

I'll start out being a bit more general, When players play stream sections such as 00:14:456 (1) - this one, Players no matter how good will need breaks at some point, no one will be able to stream for these 20-30 second seconds of just 1/4 spam nonstop without messing up at some point. And a 5.41 star sound should be SS able if it should get to ranked.

So, What you could do to give players this break is pretty easily actually. You should reduce the reverse sliders to have a 1/4 break between them and the next notes. Right now, each reverse slider in the section starting 00:14:456 (1) - and ending 00:38:530 (9) - Has TWO reverse arrows and does not leave a break, what you could do to insert mini breaks for players is to remove one reverse arrow, so where the slider ends is where it starts. It doesn't break the map flow and it still plays well.

If you look at other ranked maps they ALL do the same, no ranked map has consistent streaming with no breaks for over 10 seconds typically, and yours should be no different. Your streams need to have breaks, all of them.

ANYWAY moving on,

02:04:456 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - I don't like how the shape of all of these are different, but the sound they're all mapped to is identical. If the sounds are identical, the sliders should be identical. They still have be rotated and such but the shape should stay consistent.
02:13:345 (1,4,7,8,9,10) - ^
02:34:086 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - ^

02:14:826 (7,8) - Flow here is wonky too
02:17:789 (8,9) - ^


03:05:937 (1,2,3,4,5,6,1,2,3,4,5,6) - So for these jumps, it looks like you just kinda, placed circles without thinking about it. Thats not what jumps are in my opinion. I think jumps need to have like a... Rhythm to them? if that makes sense. There has to be thought behind the placement of the circles and I don't really see any here. It kinda looks like you're doing triangle patterns. But the triangles aren't exact. You can use the create polygon or the copy paste tools to make perfect triangles if that's what you're going for. But these kinda look randomly placed.

It kinda looks like you're doing triangle patterns. But the triangles aren't exact. You can use the create polygon or the copy paste tools to make perfect triangles if that's what you're going for. But these kinda look randomly placed. I know :c Fixed these jumps for now. Still trying different patterns for these jumps.

(also use some variations in violume levels for hitsounding which the map does not have rn)

Combo color 1 and combo color 4 look too similar imo, so change one of the two

source has to contain which game the song is from, idk know if it's from geometry dash but I'm pretty sure the sitename isn't the right source
Edit: I have read your reply on this for the mod above me but still don't agree, also the map you pointed out was from 2013 and since then metadata has gotten alot more strict

Turn off widescreen support in advanced settings as there is no storyboard

1920x1080 bg's are totally okay btw, you don't need to crop it. You can even go as high as 1920x1200 which Monstrata's Hikari Are did so it's okay now
It's just that people using modding assistant point this out all the time as it hasn't been updated for that tool yet

00:07:326 (11,1) - Your stream exit has the exact same visual spcing as the stream entry at 00:06:493 (3,4) - which makes it so that it looks like a 1/2 gap while being a 1/4 gap
00:07:419 (1) - 1,3x ds should suffice to still get teh emphasis you want

00:08:808 (11,12) - ^

00:08:900 (12,1) - flipping nc's on these 2 would also be better to be consistent with 00:07:419 (1,12,1) - where you also put the NC on the downbeat

00:09:271 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11,12,13) - there is nothing in the music that indicated that there should be a change between this part and the previous part but you mapped it totally different by putting the emphasis on a different part of the music

I'll just explain some basic concepts here as that would be imo alot more handy than just modding the map point by point which is what I have done up till now

The biggest problem I have with this map is that the there doesn't seem to be any form of structure/ aesthetics,
I have pointed it out a couple of times on the mod but using clear geometrical shapes in slow parts or avoiding overlaps really help the map's aesthetics along. Of course there are other ways to make a map look strucured but this is just an obvious example.
01:10:382 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,1) - I'll use this as another example of aesthetics, the first part is straight and the second part is curved which is somewhat weird as there is no change in music or anything, the shape therefor looks random as it is not always equally curved

A second problem is the rhythm,
You try and stick way too much to the safe 1/4 streams which can fit but if you map a song this way then it can get really boring and samey when 50% of the map is like this. Not only that, sometimes 1/4 rhythm is not even the optimal choice stuff like 01:13:623 (4,5,6) - where there is stuff on the 1/8 ticks just get lost this way.
Also, your rhythm also impacts the intesity of the song (which is obvious), so spots like 01:11:123 (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) - where the song actually gets more intense and your object density lowers aren't really that great

Lastly, it's not beacause the song is quiet that the map only can conotain circles on strong beats, it's alot better to also use sliders here so you don't have to feel on edge every slow part beacause there are a ton of circles with low spacing

I am going to stop here beacause I'm bad at explaining things, which you may have already noticed and you will already have some work with what I typed so far

00:08:900 (1) - this circle should be spaced just as far away from the sliders prior just as much as 00:07:049 (4) and 00:07:419 (1).

00:20:289 (5) - this stream might look more visually appealing if you didn't make it as sharp as you did.
