[General]
Kiai placement seems weird, please reconsider it

[Ren-chon]
change diffname to "Ren-choni"? xD
01:25:460 (271) - remove finisher, 01:25:610 - add k k to follow the drums properly
01:32:660 (302) - ^

[Nofool]
00:00:710 - there's a lot going on here in the start... feels kinda undermapped especially when compared to later sections of the music like 00:12:710 -
00:12:710 - not a fan of the lower SV here... nothing really to warrant a lower SV and the part is dense enough as it is already. All the SV is doing here is making things awkward to read for no particular reason imo.

00:49:985 (1) - start this at 00:50:060 - looks awkward otherwise
00:59:585 (1) - ^
01:09:185 (1) - ^
01:34:985 (1) - ^

[Muzukashii]
01:22:310 - as far as i see this is mapped the same as the inner oni, pls nerf a little bit

[Futsuu]
00:35:510 (112) - end this at 00:36:410 - , 00:36:710 - add d, 00:37:010 (113) - delete. A slider here doesn't count as a break and the pattern is too long otherwise
01:22:310 - this part is a bit too consistently dense for my liking

[Kantan]
00:00:110 - to 00:10:010 - no 4/1 breaks, at least make something here please
00:40:610 (68) - delete, 5plet at this bpm is a bit over the top
00:49:910 (1) - you're treating this spinner as if it were a break, but it isn't in lower diffs. delete and add a note at 00:49:910 -
00:59:660 (1) - delete, same reason
01:09:110 (1) - same as 00:49:910 (1) -
01:10:310 - this pattern is too long, make a break somewhere pls
01:31:760 (37) - delete, this kind of 5plet might be too difficult

00:49:985 (1) - start this at 00:50:060 - looks awkward otherwise well not to me, i start it there because it should start on the previous beat but id rather finish the 1/4. having it starting on the current beat kinda hide it as if it started like it shouldve, the 1/2 feels more weird to me
00:59:585 (1) - ^
01:09:185 (1) - ^
01:34:985 (1) - ^ basically the same for all, i prefer tham starting that way tbh. will change if more pple seem to dislike it tho
thanks for modding
update : http://puu.sh/tnFJr/685e316ed7.osu

also i don't think kiai time should be changed, the previous one was fine to me :?

[Kantan]
00:23:510 (39,40) - change kat ? the vocal has different pitch

[Futsuu]
00:48:410 - delete, vocal stop here
01:10:610 - | 01:13:010 - delete ? there has mix xxx and xx xx that make it hard

[Muzukashii]
00:24:560 - maybe move 00:24:710 - pitch more strong here
00:35:360 - move 00:35:060 - or add note here 00:35:060 - vocal sound still continuous
00:36:710 - maybe place note here, match with vocal too
00:47:360 - change kat ?
01:15:710 - delete ?

well maybe just that, not much other diff fine for me

This kind of thing just doesn't look good. 1/4 spinners only work with ninja SV changes, otherwise they just look completely ugly when playing. (some skins make the spinner look a bit smaller when it's scrolling in, but with the default skin it just looks ugly). Ninja SV here though would be too confusing to read for the normal oni so the only option left is to move the spinner to the 1/2 tick.
Nofool
i only see your personnal opinion on the matter here and i totaly disagree. This does not look ugly at all to me. I believe you got some misconception about how we should use spinners especially when i read the part about ninja SVs. Moving it to the following tick would make it start even later than the sound i am following actually started. Which is in my opinion way worse.

This is just as big as a big note in that skin, saying that this is ugly makes no sense. Now ugly because it starts on an odd tick? Then pair pattern sequences are ugly too? I dont see any logic reasonning supporting the kind of change you are suggesting me here..

edit : note that i could easily argue about the following post but i left the choice to charlotte because this isn't my mapset. I still highly disagree about most of it :/
Chromoxx
1. If i'm not mistaken you are using the spinner to emphasize the sound from the note before as drawm out, which is a very common and acceptable concept when using spinners, it's nothing new. This concept is just usually used starting 1/2 after the note since that is also enough to emphasize it's drawn out nature.

2. Therefore you are already starting the spinner later than the actual sound you want to follow. Starting it one tick later would not be the biggest sacrifice considering you will make the map look a lot cleaner visually that way.

3. Very few players actually going to start clicking the spinner on the blue tick. Most players have a specific "ritual" they use to hit spinners (ie. something along the lines of kdkdkdk or dkdkdkd starting with their dominant hand or alternating kd between both hands starting with their dominant hand) Since this mostly starts with the dominant hand they will usually wait one tick until starting to play for their dominant hand to catch up (otherwise it would have to hit 2 1/4 notes in a row) which is perfectly easily doable because of how spinners work. Therefore keeping it on the red tick would also feel a lot more natural to play and also be less confusing to read.

4. starting the spinner on the red tick at places like 00:50:060 - would not only make things look nicer and feel more natural to play but would add emphasis on stronger sounds such as the drums which start here.

5. In essence what you are losing by using the spinners this way is:
- visual appearance
- natural playability
- emphasis on other stronger sounds

What you are gaining from it is:
- 1 more tick on the spinner

Conclusion: Is that one tick on the spinner really worth all this? Starting it on the red tick would emphasize the drawn out nature of the sound just as well without being a detriment to the map in the ways i just explained.

It may be acceptable in terms of ranking criteria, but it is detrimenting the map in many ways for very little gain.
It's not something i'm willing to discuss about any further either.

6 (extra): you stated it isn't ugly because it's the same size as a big note. Big notes at the end of streams are used sparingly and not at every possible occasion for a reason, which is because they are somewhat awkward to read. Especially when they are on a tick that isn't a strong sound or something where you'd expect a big note to be in the first place. Having a big note on a blue tick after 1/4 if there isn't actually a specific strong sound to justify it at that exact spot would also be considered unacceptable.

So late reponse, huh?

I played your map in lot times, in special Ren-choni. I find some errors, but I see these was fixed, so I don't know what to mod lol.
But, I'll mark only some things in kantan:
[Kantan]
  1. 00:30:110 (51) - Change to don, because all diff's is don here
  2. 00:30:410 - You can add kat for sequence with 00:29:210 (49,50) - . So it's set as k d d k. But you have remove this 00:30:710 (52) - for so that there is not as k d k d (1/1).
Another alternative is move 00:31:010 (53) - this in 00:30:410 - and convert to kat, instead of adding kat. Also emphasizes the tone of the instrumental 00:30:710 (52,54,55) -
  3. 01:09:110 - Maybe add don?

Another thing that baffles me is the diff from Nofool.
The last note 01:47:510 (2) - is very fast. Can he lower it a bit? If not, no matter. I think it's the map style, so has no problem.

I'm really sorry for not modding this before. No kds, please

Hi, here is the M4M as requested.

  • [General]
  1. It would be better to use "太鼓の達人" as source since the music is Rotter Tarmination.
  2. Tags: Taiko no Tatsujin Rotter Tarmination のんのんびより Non Non Biyori Nofool
  3. You may disable widescreen support in Kantan and Muzukashii to keep it the same across the set.
  4. 01:22:310 - time signature should be 3/4 here.
  5. 01:36:710 - metronome returns to 4/4
  6. 01:46:535 (1) - you should start this spinner at 01:46:310 - and move the 1.5x timing point accordingly since the voice becomes more intense starting from here except Nofool's Oni.

  1. 00:49:910 (83) - maybe k here for the high-pitched voice ?
  2. 01:34:910 (1) - you may end this spinner at 01:36:410 - instead of 01:36:560 - as the shout stops around there.
  • [Futsuu]
  1. 01:28:910 (55) - consider removing finish for better emphasis of 01:29:060 (56,57) - ?
  • [Muzukashii]
  1. 00:31:160 (144,146) - these notes could be deleted for a 2/1 break. Currently the pattern chain is rather long from 00:10:610 to 00:59:510 -
  • [Nofool's Oni]
  1. 00:38:660 (161,162,163) - removing finish seems better as the vocal structure is identical to 00:33:860 -
  2. 01:36:710 (4) - consider adding finish here to mark the start of the kiai and give a greater impact for it ?
  3. 01:47:510 - Having a ninja note here is not a bad idea, but 4.0x would be too fast in my opinion. Maybe try something like 2.4x instead for instance as the double of previous finishes ?
  • [Ren-choni]
  1. 01:01:610 (82,83,84) - consider changing these notes to d k d to follow the vocal ?
  2. 01:12:335 (178) - k would accompany the background pitch in a way better.
You may call me back after that~ :D

  1. It would be better to use "太鼓の達人" as source since the music is Rotter Tarmination. Fixed
  2. Tags: Taiko no Tatsujin Rotter Tarmination のんのんびより Non Non Biyori Nofool ^
  3. You may disable widescreen support in Kantan and Muzukashii to keep it the same across the set. ^
  4. 01:22:310 - time signature should be 3/4 here. ^
  5. 01:36:710 - metronome returns to 4/4 ^
