Problem Details:
it first says your game client is being updated when i open it but then, it says Hi! an error occured! please check your internet connection. IDK what is wrong my internet connection is alright :( :( :( >:( >:(

Video or screenshot showing the problem:

osu! version: 20161101.2 (latest)

Try disconnecting your internet and open osu!.exe, when the updater appears, just close it and open osu!.exe again.
The client should start after that

I suggest in trying to use a VPN such as [lucky:1337]Psiphon[/lucky:1337]
Just download it and open then try updating osu! again.

Or, you could try using the old installer here.

(You can also prevent updater from opening by opening a replay (not sure if this information is actually correct.))

Download the osu!.exe file from here
After that, replace it with your old one and try again.

It isn't a page, but it is a download. Right click it and choose "Save link as..."

Please try making sure your firewall or antivirus isn't blocking osu! from connecting.
