Here is my mod for the M4M.
[Insane]
- You have a calm map so HP=8 seems a little bit too high for the kind of map you made. I think HP6~7 would fit better.
Rhythm- 00:04:109 (1) - The slider is following the voice, right? So it should end at 00:05:674.
- 00:06:457 - If you followed my previous suggestion i also think that these first drum notes whould be followed so... maybe something like this?
But if you want to only follow the piano here you have to remove 00:06:979 (1) then because the piano starts at 00:07:109. (Like you did in the Hard) - 01:05:935 (1) - Since you follow the voice and the music and that there is the voice at 01:06:326 maybe shorten this slider by 1/4 beat then add a note at 01:06:457 where it's tail was.
- 01:12:718 - We can ear the drum here and on all the 1/4 until 01:13:240 (1) so maybe add a 1/4-beat long slider with 2 repeats here?
- 02:00:718 (1) - I think you should avoid the 1/8 in your map. They doesn't fit very well with the spirit of your map imo. But yeah, for each 1/8 you use i will detail why they doesn't fit. For this one it's easy, it's a consistency issue. You follow vocals in priority in your map but here the 1/8 follow the piano and ignore the vocals. Look at all the similar patterns: 00:24:718 (1,2), 00:28:892 (1,2), 00:33:066 (1,2), 00:41:413 (1,2) etc... So for consistency don't use 1/8 here.
- 02:15:653 (4,5) - Slow down the song and listen. There is no 1/8 here. This is actually a 1/16 at 02:15:750 and that would be ridiculous to make play this. Especially since you ignored all the 1/16 between 02:14:674 and 02:14:805.
- 02:21:979 (4,5,6,7,8) - Maybe change the rhythm like this:
It would emphasize the repetitivity of 02:22:240, 02:22:370 and 02:22:500 with 02:22:631, 02:22:761 and 02:22:892. - 02:24:000 (4,5) - Same issue than 02:15:653 (4,5) and you also have the issue with 02:25:826 (3,4).
- 02:44:935 (1,2,3) - Ok... This one is legit. But maybe put a slider 1/8 with a reverse here. You don't have a difficult map so having to play a 1/8 feels out of place. It's too difficult compared to the rest of the map.
Placement/Aesthetic- 00:09:848 (3,4) - Why so close? Look at your other 1/4 gap nearby (00:07:892 (3,4), 00:08:674 (6,7), 00:10:761 (6,7) etc...) you always avoid the overlap so why having it here?
- 00:18:457 (3) - Maybe CTRL+G? It gives a nice rotative flow to 00:17:935 (1,2,3) and also it gives a better flow from 00:18:457 (3) to 00:18:848 (4).
- 00:39:848 (4,5) - Since 00:39:848 (4), 00:40:240 (5) and 00:40:500 (6) are all on powerful notes i don't think a stack is really necessary here. same for 01:50:283 (3,4).
- 00:50:153 (3,4) - Here too you have a 1/4 gap with a spacing shorter than the spacing you usually use. Also the overlap doesn't really looks good. If you want to overlap maybe avoid the slider head and overlap the slider body instead. Maybe somethin like this:
- 01:16:761 (3,5) - Bad blanket. Move the 2nd sldier point one grid down.
- 01:39:848 (1,2,3,4,5,6) - Flow here is not very good. Try changing the direction of 01:40:240 (3,4) like this
- 02:06:457 (1,2) - It looks even worse than 00:50:153 (3,4). Same remark. I also think you can change the slider into a note + a 1/4 beat long slider in order to play the piano note at 02:06:979.
- 02:09:849 (4,5,6,7) - Spacing goes x1.5/x1.5/x1.5/x1.2. Why is the spacing way shorter at the end? You could have made a nice square.
- 02:19:109 (1,2,3,4,5) - This is really hard to read and confusing to play. This is only AR8 so try not to use this kind of pattern. Especially since most of your map is really easy to read so having this pattern breaks that.
- 02:34:109 (4,5) - Why not stack? I don't think it deserves an anti-jump here. Same for 02:55:500 (4,5,6) and 03:15:326 (1,2,3).
- 02:56:283 (8) - Move it to x=296 y=316? It looks better imo.
- 03:20:544 (6) - Maybe turn the slider in the opposite direction? It doesn't affect the flow of 03:20:153 (4,5,6) that much but improve the flow of
- 03:20:544 (6,7) way more imo.
NC- 01:30:457 (1) - This NC is really not necessary. Look at your simillar patterns like 02:11:022 (8,1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10) or 03:11:936 (4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11). You don't use any NC like this one in these.
I didn't really appreciate some of the anti-jump and the 1/8 were awful to play but overall this diff is quite nice and fun to play. I will remove the 1/8 myself (because i guess you won't do it seeing your answer to the previous mod) but i will totally keep playing this map. You totally deserve a ~star~ for that.
[Hard]
Rhythm- 00:04:109 (1) - Same as in the insane
- 00:24:196 - Add a note? This is a strong beat. Same for 01:39:326.
- 00:43:370 (2) - Shorten the slider by 1/4 beat then add a note at 00:43:631 where the slider previously ended in order to play the note at 00:43:500.
- 00:55:500 (5) - I understand that you could be reluctant using 1/3 but if you play the vocal at 00:55:848 then by consistency you can't ignore the vocal at 00:55:674. So either turn 00:55:500 (5) into a 1/3 beat long slider with a reverse or turn it into a 1 beat long slider. But don't ignore a 1/3 and play the other.
- 02:00:848 - Add a note? For consistency with 01:39:848 (1,2), 01:44:021 (1,2), 01:48:196 (1,2) etc...
Placement/Aesthetic- 00:15:326 (5,6,7,1,2) - having three 1/4 then a jump then two 1/4 is maybe a little too difficult for a hard diff.
- 00:51:066 (6,1) - This jump is way too big for a hard. If it was a jump between powerful notes (like most of your jumps are) i would have accepted but here it's just a random big jump which brings nothing to the map and doesn't fit so you'd better remove it.
- 00:52:240 (4,5) - I think you could make a way better blanket here. Blankets in your insane were good.
- 01:16:370 (1,2,3) - Any reason why there is a jump here? 01:17:022 (4,5) is fine since 01:17:283 (5) starts on a strong beat but nothing really justify a jump here. Especially a jump after a doublet which is even harder to play.
- 01:19:370 (4,5,6,1) - These two jumps are also a little bit too much for a hard.
- 02:11:413 (1,2,3,4,5) - This pattern is also a too complicated for a hard diff. Maybe by changing the rhythm like this you could make it more hard-like:
- 02:18:457 (3,1) - Flow is not that good since the slider ends in the bad direction. So, maybe remove a reverse then add a note like this:
- 02:19:500 (3,1) - Another jump which is too much imo. 02:23:413 (1,2,3,1) is really the limit. No need to have larger jump than that.
- 02:53:413 (1,2,3,1,2,3) - The fact that you use the same spacing for the 3/4 gap and 1/2 gap is REALLY hard to read with AR7. Even worse when playing HD. Not a pattern i would use in a hard.
- 03:02:674 (1,2) - You never used this kind of anti-jump before so why starting using them now? They litterally appears out of nowhere. Besides, except confusing hard players they don't really have a purpose so i would suggest to change all of them into proper stack.
meh.... After such a nice Insane i was expecting something better for the hard. It doesn't have the nice aesthetic of your insane and is a pain to read sometimes so i think you should work on it a little bit more. It would made the whole mapset looks cooler. Because remember that people usually rate a map
only on how they like the song usually after they played one diff so it's better if the whole mapset has nice diffs.
Also i had a better accuracy playing the insane than the hard if it doesn't tell the whole story.
[Normal]
Rhythm- 02:00:848 - Add a note for consistency with 01:56:022 (1,2) and 01:39:848 (1,2) and 01:44:022 (1,2).
- 02:53:805 (1,2,1,2,3) - All the changes between the 3/4 and 1/2 (and sometimes 5/4) gaps in your map are really confusing for normal-players and highly unrecommended. It's called polarity. If you don't know what i'm talking about i suggest to take a look at this video by Charles445: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53PkFLrK8Ws But if i talk about this part especially that's because it's the worse part in the map with the polarity issue and it can easily be fixed like this:
Placement/Aesthetic- 01:10:109 (1,2) - Why using a spacing of x1.5 instead of x1.3 here?
- 01:17:283 (4) - Very bad blanket. Move the 2nd slider point 2 grid right and the 3rd slider point 1 grid right.
- 02:11:674 (3,4) - Very confusing for beginner players. I highly recommand not using this kind of pattern.
- 03:27:848 (1,2,3,4,5,1,2,3,4,1,2) - Pattern way too complicated for a normal.
All these 3/4 gap (and the 5/4 gaps too) that's not really normal-like. these kind of things are really confusing to play for beginners, especially with the low AR of the normal. Your map have huge polarity issues and overall plays more like an easy Hard rather than a normal diff. Otherwise, it looks good. I retrieve the nice aesthetic of the insane that i missed in the hard.
[Easy]
Placement/Aesthetic- 03:01:109 (2,3) - Bad blanket. Move it's 2nd slider point 2 grid up then it's 3rd slider point to x=336 y=100.
- 02:57:457 (2) - Ove the 2nd slider point 4 grid right for a better blanket.
Same polarity issue than the normal. Otherwise diff is good
Well, awesome insane diff. As you probably guessed i still think other diff needs work but seeing the insane i'm sure you have all the potential to do a nice mapset
. The song has a weird rhythm so i can understand it can be complicated for easy/normal diff. I wish you good luck and i hope it will get ranked one day.
P.S. I also looked at electric angel and now i have a new favourite vocaloid song so thank you for that too. <3
