Online rankings history
Early versions of osu! were a mostly isolated experience, with no online leaderboards for anything until 6 October 2007, when support for public online rankings was added for osu!. Since then, all game modes have received their own online rankings.
Numerous players have held rank #1 in each game mode under different ranking systems. The current system used by all game modes for online rankings is ppv2.

As of 13 April 2023, on the osu!mania performance rankings the rank #1 player is dressurf.
