Who are you?
Just a casual osu! player. I've also made a map or two...or 30. 
But your name is black
Well, I modded for a while too and became a BAT. Starting the mapping technique naming/rating deserves a mention too I guess.
How did you first discover osu!?
Admittedly, I first installed it solely to obtain an mp3 (Magical Trick Society's version of Examination ~ Allegro). Then I decided to try the actual game. The rest is history.
Your favorite maps starting out?
First ones that come to mind are Super Mario Bros. Medley and Katamari on the Rocks. Then Scatman when I got better.
What influenced you to start mapping yourself?
Like many others, I wanted to be able to play some of my favorite songs in osu! Later I made it a point to map more well-known songs as opposed to the influx of japanese music already present (with some exceptions).
Your early maps are ok, but...
Yeah, maps in the early years didn't have the polish or quality of today due to the lower standards back then. I may remake a few select ones, but we'll see.
Who are some of your favorite mappers?
James, Rolled, Mifune24, awp, Luigihann, Kharl, Larto, and buraimaster1234. There are too many to list, but that's who comes to mind first.
What do you feel is your biggest contribution to mapping?
Aside from the songs themselves, I'd like to think I popularized the short repeating slider (starting with TTFaF). People may not like them as much, but imo they're fun if used right.
Favorite map you've made? Least favorite map you've made?
Favorite is always tough to choose, but some that I feel stick out: Beat It, Final Battle (Banjo-Kazooie), One Winged Angel, Yasashisa no Shouzou, and Kumikyoku.
Least favorite by far: Agent Yoru wo Iku.

What do you think of the progression of osu! over the years?
It's been a roller coaster with its ups and down, but peppy and the other devs have really taken the game to whole new levels.
If you could change one thing about osu!, what would it be?
More maps of popular songs! If only timing them wasn't so difficult.
