Vanya method Generic = hitsounding only base song structure shit (kick, snare, whistle for melody, etc) Complex = hitsounding everything (applied to songs with multiple layers such as rides, hihats, special claps and stuff)
normal-hitnormal = weak kick (generic) or snare (complex) <- this snare is stronger than a soft-hitclap
normal additions are a "special" version of their soft counterpart normal-hitclap is used on special snares/"clap" sounds etc
drum-hitnormal = base kick/strong kick drum-hitclap = high pitched tom drum-hitfinish = low pitched tom drum-hitwhistle = drum hitwhistles are almost all the time used the same as soft-hitwhistles, never for rides because it will fuck up the other sounds played at the same time (eg if a hihat is at the same time as a snare)
drumrolls: order of pitch: normal-hitnormal > soft-hitclap > drum-hitclap > drum-hitfinish > drum-hitnormal (only used if needed, since sometimes the pitch goes really low) . [snares] [toms] [lowest sound (indecipherable/close enough to a kick)] Gill's Method Hitsounding Guide:
Hitnormals: Drums/kicks/toms HitClaps: Snares(not many exceptions (soft)) Hitwhistles: vocals(soft), ride/hihat(drum),guitar (normal) Hit Finish: normal (start of chorus), soft(mid chorus finishes)
soft & normal hitclap are interchangeable hitwhistles are complex Hit finish soft & normal interchangeable drum hit finish for toms always use default drum hit normal and hitclap
