Honestly I am 100% sure old site user's will keep complaining about new site for as long as they will use the forums.

Old site will eventually become a legend passed down by the ancient to the newer generation, whom where never able to use it and who will themselves pass down the legend despite not fully understanding the greateness of the old site.

Over time, the true meaning of the old forums will be lost and all that will remain will be these tales about an old supperior site, lost in time but always remaining as part of history.

not if the members of the olden days keep telling the tales of the old forums
then the legend will never die

How long do you guys think this sub will last before it dies? It’s scary to think my children might look at my legacy in a decade.

I think you're safe.
Look at it like this, you'll have prepared the grounds for their necroposts.

And then I think; would it actually be mature of me to introduce them to this forum? Didn’t turn out well with me. But, instead of being able to say “I didn’t have the internet when I was your age” i would have to answer more complicated. “I played osu!” “Oh, what was your username dad?” Uh the fuck oh.

Unless osu is a wildly popular game in 20 years, no one would ask for your username. Especially anyone who wasn't around during its first 10–15 years of its release. Your kids would be too busy playing Fortnite 5 to care about some old, semi-obscure rhythm game that dad used to play.

Tbh I can't imagine Osu as a mainstream and popular game.
Having a small and dedicated community is one of it's charms.

Absolutely. I tend to always like less well know stuff better, even more so if the community that surrounds it is passionate about it.
