osu!ABsorb Tournament

Planned Starting Date: March 30th, 2019

Still looking for Staff, need Referees and Commentators.

Introduction

This tournament is sort of a branching off of a dumb idea someone had in the osu! tournament hub discord, something about stealing maps. Well, lets run with that idea.

What is this Tournament?

osu!Absorb is a 2v2 Scorev2 tournament where teams pick their own pool of 6 maps (2 Nomod, 2 Doubletime, 2 Forcedmod - HD/HR/FL/EZ) and compete against other teams in Head to Head matches. There will be a total of 16 teams that can enter the tournament, if more teams sign up only the top 16 teams based off average rank of the top two players (Teams can have either 2 players or 3) will continue on into the tournament.

Each team that signs up will be asked for 6 maps to make their pool. These maps must be within the star range set for this tournament (4.00* - 6.50*). There will also be a limit on Drain time (Min 0:50 Drain, Max 5:00 Drain). Be careful though, once your team and map pool are submitted, you cannot change them (barring replacing maps that break the rules for SR/Drain)

Match Procedure

The Ref of your match will invite you to the game starting 10 minutes before the match is scheduled. If one team does not join the map within 10 minutes of the scheduled start time, the opponent team gets one point. After 15 minutes, the absent team forfiets the match and is out of the tournament.
If both teams agree, Warmup maps can be played, but there is a maximum drain time of 3 minutes on any warmup map.

After warmups (or immediately if players do not want to play them) Each team will roll. High roll chooses who picks first.

Teams proceed to pick from eachother's pools (meaning you don't get to pick the maps from the pool your team made) until one team reaches the required number of match wins for each round. (Round of 16: Best of 5, Quarterfinals: Best of 7, Semifinals: Best of 9, Finals: Best of 13.)
If a Tiebreaker map is to be played, there will be 3 possible maps to pick from. There are three maps to break the tie, and each team gets to ban one of them. The team who picks the first map of the match bans their Tiebreaker first.

Once the match is finished, the winning team must take one map from each of the three mod pools (Nomod, Doubletime, Forced mod) and add it to their own for the next match. If two teams that face eachother have the same maps in their pool, that map cannot be absorbed by the winning team and they will have to take the other map from each mod pool. If both teams have the same two maps in their nomod pool, The winning team will take one of the Forcedmod picks to add to their nomod, and the other fm for their fm pool, and Vice versa. If two teams facing eachother share the same DT picks, the winning team will be given one of the DT maps not taken from another random team that lost their round.

After that the results will be posted in the discord channel.
