Supported Osu Encoding Methods?

So I'm hoping that some mapper here who's used video in their beatmap has an answer for me. Does Osu support 265 encoding? And if not, where can I find some information on encoding methods that are supported?

I've used 264 encoding with success, but the method doesn't compress the video to an acceptable file size, and the quality is overall worse compared to 265.

Since I'm compressing a rather large video (500mb down to 18mb), I was successful with 265. However when I went to import the video I was unable to play it. A video I encoded with 264 (around 26mb) was able to play in the beatmap editor though.

My client crashes when I try to add H.265 video on a beatmap. Since VP8/VP9 isn't supported, H.264 might be your best bet. I'm not a skilled video encoder myself, but I'd consider tweaking the flags (maybe ask the experinced encoders for this). Sorry I can't help you beyond stuff you probably have searched for by yourself.
