Problem Details: So I went to start up Osu and it downloaded the fallback version and switched to that. Switched it back to current version and it worked for ~2 minutes before auto-downloading the fallback version and switching to that after. Decided to try the cutting edge version and now it just crashes on startup.

Video or screenshot showing the problem: Its just the crashing message appearing.

osu! version: 20160403.6

EDIT: Ran the repair thing and that crashed pretty much immediately.

Edit 2: Logs

Thats all the logs in my folder.

Edit 3: Also tried to Shift+Click for the config but that crashes as well.

Edit 4: Deleted everything but my maps and re downloaded osu. Back into this cycle of open new version auto-updates to fallback version. Click on bottom of screen to update to current version. It works and I can play maps but get input lag since it starts it in window mode. Switch to fullscreen mode. Osu restarts and goes back to fallback version. Repeat.

Edit 5: Graphic Card that runs Osu is GeForce GTX 980

Make sure all your drivers are up to date, when on the latest build try turning on compatibility mode in the options before trying to fullscreen the game, see if that allows it to play without crashing.

It only crashes when I try experimental mode and I am forced to re-download the game.

If I run it in the stable current build it will run alright but if I shut it down and start it back up it will auto-update to the fallback build for some reason. Pretty much a step by step is.

1.) First run of a fresh install of osu runs fine. Can play songs and what not however it starts in windowed mode.
2.) Close it. Such as when switching to full screen or just exiting game.
3.) Open it back up. Auto-update starts up and updates Osu to the fallback stable build without any input from me.
4.) Click the bar on the bottom of the main screen that asks if I want to update it to current stable build.
5.) Updates fine and I can play the current build no problem.
6.) Repeat steps 2-5 endlessly

Edit: I did check drivers and there up to date. Compatibility mode does nothing of note.

Alright I was a bit wrong with my info. Did a completely new install of Osu and it works just fine and won't download the fallback version when just quiting and restarting. However if I try and switch it to fullscreen mode in any way such as shift-clicking Osu then it decides to download the fallback version and switch to that. This is getting really frustrating since the fallback version doesn't like my GPU.

Welp still doing it. Quite annoying since I was just getting back into this game.
