Very recently I just manually Installed XQuartz 2.7.11 and also downloaded the Alpha release of osu! as well, but when it came to actually trying to run the game it didn't work. I only tried doing this because the Stable release stopped working for me for some apparent reason, because everytime I left clicked it, it wouldn't open up, also everytime I right-clicked the application, then clicked 'open' myself, it wouldn't open too. I redownloaded it once before this, and it ran for a little bit, then once I signed in, it restarted to update the game (Stable Release) and it never worked again. This problem has been going on for me since January 14th, and before that, it worked fine.
EDIT: I've always use the Stable Release every since I started.
