RESULTS

Hi-yo! Time for our second tournament of Winter Tour.
IGZWT#2 Will be a 2 day tournament for 80k->200k played ON 12.12. and 12.13.
Map difficulty is fairly varied between 3,1*->4*.
Will count towards Winter Tour points -> Here
(Possibly) Looking for refs.

Rules
And here comes the wall of text...

-Tournament will be played over 1 weekend of Groupstage and Single / Double Elimination Knockout Stage for top players (schedule will be found on challonge/google docs)
- Mappool will consist of 7 Nomod, 4 HardRock, 4 Hidden, 4 Doubletime and 1 Tie-breaker map
- Match times:
*12.12. Saturday Groupstage 14:00GMT->
*13.12. Sunday Knockstage 12:00GMT->
- Referee will create the room, unless if theyre still busy with the earlier match
- Room Name: IGZWT[Player A – Player B]
- Room should be locked with a password
- No extra players are allowed in the room, apart tournament referee/admin
- Respect your opponent
- Both players may choose 1 (One) Warm-up map each, MAP DOESNT HAVE TO BE PART OF THE MAPPOOL
- Players are responsible for showing up on the scheduled time
- Groupstage matches will be played as Bo5(First to 3 wins) and Knockout stage will be played as Bo5 with WB Final/LB Final/Grand Final as Bo7(First to 4 wins)
- Players must provide the Tournament Moderator with Multiplayer Link + bans (only applies if there is no referee watching the game)
- The player with higher !roll will start the ban/pick Phase
- Players are allowed to ban 2 (Two) maps
- Each player is allowed to pick a maximum of 2 (Two) maps from each pool
- In case of tie (2-2,3-3) a Tie-Breaker map will be played (Pre-Determined)
- Each map is played with their respective mods, NoMod = no mods, HR = Hardrock etc...
- If player Disconnects during a song and the result doesn't show up in MPlink will the map be reqistered as loss. (MPLink has the final say)
- No rematches, unless if it's a double fail.
- After disconnecting player has 10mins to reconnect, if he fails to do so, will the match be marked as 0-3 loss
- Tie-Breaker will be played with light FreeMod rules (Mods allowed, but not forced)
- Failed score does NOT count
- Tournament is open for players of 80k-200k rank, however if player goes below 80k is he/she still allowed to take part aslong as his/her rank doesnt go below 75k during registration.
- Fail participation (Reqistrating but not showing up) will result in being banned for the rest of Winter Tour
- Arriving late results in following penalties
+5min Loss of warmup map
+10min Loss of both warmup maps
+15min DQ
- Having fun is MANDATORY!!! (Oh not again...)
- In case if players conclude Groupstage with tie points:

It's a lot "wider" when it comes to difficulty/style. Music might be a bit repetitive, but that's secondary when looking for good tourney maps.

E: oh and more weight on concistency since the maps are longer.

by the way, I was the guy, who said before that I could play at 15:00. I can play a bit earlier, will work, sry for the work

so the match will start at 14:00 greenwich time zone?

The tournament is structured of multiple 1v1s.

Groupstage on Saturday. most likely 3 1v1s against other players in your group.

KnockoutStage on Sunday. Double-elimination Bracket with top players from each group.

The first matches of the day start at 14:00 Greenwich time, last time we had D group (last group to start their matches) starting at 18:00 GMT iirc. So the time schedule for Saturday is fairly flexible.

Sunday matches will start earlier and can really be flexed by only 30mins or so since it would delay all other games too. Saturday would be doable. I know that the time schedule sucks balls for NA players, but there is nothing i can do about it realistically.

Few things on the "get excited" and other factors i've noticed about players and how it impacts their play.
1. Rank doesn't matter in tournament play. Well ofc higher ranked player is excpected to win, but that isn't 100% true all the time.
2. Cokiness. "I don't need to practise since I play only 5* maps", seen it happen, no point in excplaining further why the guy went 0-2 in groupstage.
3. Confidence is good... aslong as you don't go overboard with it and turn it into cokiness.
4. Mappool randomness, I've seen lots and lots of good players fail because "mappool had too easy maps" or "I dont play AR7 ever", thats what the tournament is for, finding the best OVERALL player. Not the fastest one, not the best streamer.
5. Preparing opponent vise. This is a bit harder task to do in a 2 day tournament when you get to know your opponents 1day-15mins before the match, but i had a player in one of my earlier tournaments who could EASILY upset his group by quickly scouting through their plays and banning what was their best/picking what was their worst.
6. N E V E R G I V E U P. Dropping combo doesn't mean you can't win, always play to the end, maybe he fails or something.

Sometimes it's better banning maps to support your strengths rather than hinder your opponents weakness. :P
