What Is NUOT Summer Invitational 2022?

NUOT Summer Invitational is the 13th tournament (or iteration) of NUOT - National University osu! Tournaments. This iteration is more of an open tournament, where players who are eligible can invite non-university students to play in the tournament.

What is the format of the tournament?

This tournament will be 2 versus 2, up to teams of 3 (2v2to3).
If your team has 2 members, then you will have to make sure you have an average rank of 10k+.
If your team has 3 members, then the 2 best players on your team must have an average rank of 15k+

Is this tournament open to everyone?

Yes and no. Check the entry conditions below to see how you can take part!

What does "Average Rank of 10k+" mean?

It means that the two highest ranked members on your team must have an average rank of above 10k. For example, if you are 2k, and your friend is 10k, then your average rank is 6k, and you will not be able to compete as a team. But, if you are 2k, and your friend is 20k, then your average rank is 11k, and you will.

As A UK University Student

If you are currently studying at a university in the United Kingdom, then great news! You are able to play in the tournament and you get to invite up to two others!
You can build a team of up to three members, including yourself. This team can consist of three university students, or only yourself as a student if you like.
There is no limit to who you can invite to the tournament. They can be from any part of the world, and can be any rank. Just make sure they fit into the average rank range that is defined above (in introduction). Please also note that the default schedules will be in BST (British Summertime), and we will not be doing variable match times for different locations.

As A UK University Alumni

If you have recently graduated from a UK University, and you can show proof of attendance, and you graduated in the past 3 years (Summer of 2019), then you have all the same privileges as currently studying university students above. Students who are are currently in temporary suspension of studies are also eligible as alumni

As A non-UK University Student

If you are not currently studying at a UK University, do not fear, you still have a chance to take part. Players who eligible (above) can invite up to two people to take part in the tournament and be on their team. You can Join The Discord and post in looking for teammate if you do not know anyone who falls in the category. Please note that there is a low chance of you being picked up, since there are a lot fewer people who study at university than who do not.

As A Staff Member

There is no requirements to staff for the tournament, everyone is welcome to help out. If you are playing in the tournament, you will be restricted to only being able to referee, stream and commentate; as allowing players to see the mappools prior to the rounds would be unfair. If you want to help out, Join The Discord or DM me Kommsu#4701.

1. Creating an account

Registration for this tournament is covered by The NUEL. When registering on the website, make sure if you are a university student to use your university email and select your university. If you are not a university student, you can use any email, and you should select no university.

2. Creating your team

To create a team on the website, click on your profile at the top-right, and select Teams on the drop-down. Once you get to the teams page, press the Create a team button. Once you get to the team creation page, make sure you select Open Team on the right, and select osu! as the game underneath. You can upload a team logo and set your team name on this page as well, but please make sure you don't use any name that is explicit.

3. Inviting / Joining a team

To invite people to a team, go back to the teams page, and select your team. From here you'll see a button that says Invite players to your team. Click it and a link will appear, make sure to send this link to all of your teammates, and don't let it get out to others!

4. Signing your team up to the tournament

Many years ago I was a very good swimmer. I would often visit the local pool to swim in the local pool. I made many friends in the local pool and swam in it too. After many days, weeks and minutes of swimming I qualified for my first regional swimming tournament for regional swimming. I was very excited! I could not wait to compete at swimming, regionally!

A few weeks later (2 to be exact, a bunch to not be) it was the big day for regional swimming. I went to the regional swimming pool and started to swim inside of it. A while later the heats for the competition started. As I was a 38 year old man, and the regional swimming competition was for under 13s, I dominated the heats and won almost every time! (I will never forgive you James Smith you cheating gremlin)

Then came the semi finals, I was so nervous on the little podium thing for swimming that you jump off when you dive into the water when doing swimming races you know that thing that i'm talking about, that I almost fell off! The race started with a bang, as Brian's mum had shot James Smith in the kneecap with her pocket pistol (take that James you 4'11" fool) With my fastest and oldest competition out of the way (he turned 14 last week and didn't even invite me to his birthday party) I easily achieved victory.

As I had gotten first place in the semi finals, I automatically made it into the finals for the tournament. I had to wait around for a while, so I decided to kill the time by sitting in the kiddie pool and aggressively splashing all of the children.

Eventually finals came around, I was even more nervous this time. I'd never competed in the finals of a regional swimming tournament in my region, swimming, before! We all stood ready on those things I was talking about earlier but still can't remember the name of. The finals started with a bang. Brian's mum had shot me in the kneecap! That inconsiderate savage, that was my favourite kneecap! I fell into the pool but could not swim to the surface as I was in too much pain. My vision clouded with red as the blood seeped from the wound, and my lungs started to burn from lack of air. Then, a miracle! A straw entered into the pool and with an almighty SLURP a hero had drunk all of the water! I looked up to see who had saved me, and it was none other than Komm! I asked how he had drunk 15,360 gallons of pool water so quickly and he replied "I was thirsty". He also gave me £2.6 trillion "because he felt like it". Thank you Komm!

The algorithm is just a very misunderstood tool I don't feel like giving a basic statistics lesson right now so just ignore it This is so fucking frustrating
It is not an absolute method to pooling and it never has been. It is a set of guidelines on numerical statistics to the map of what would make an acceptable pool. The data was collected from 6 digit tournaments all the way to open rank tournaments so it actually is a pretty accurate representation of tournaments. Stop tunnel visioning on q0 and 4 because thats not how it should be viewed. If you have questions about it you can ask me but I am getting pretty tired of answering them
hly Today at 12:39 yeah wtf is q0 q1 q2 q3 q4
quartiles qo is the absolute minimum of the stat that I recorded and q5 is the highest those are to show what the outermost limit is for each variable but if it deviates too significantly from the average then it is likely you should operate within ql and/or q3 the big ones I see in this are nm2 sr, nm2 length hr2 length, dt4 length, nml bpm, dt4 sr but why listen to the guy who was apparently removed from the pooling team, I am only an hd2 expert and spent days making a formula to help pooling beginners that has received nothing but hate
