I think this pattern is fine because 3 brings a flowbreak to the table that is much sharper than the rest of the jumps which compensates for some of the spacing.

I just use increase for difficulty and ending on a strong note. but listen to the individual beats, and they don't suggest that the notes are any louder or softer. Also, musically a scale going up or down doesn't correlate with intensity anyways.

That is really hard to hit with double BPM mapping style, so even if the spacing looks not that big, it plays totally different. Therefore, I think current pattern gives sufficient emphasis.

    but the spread is fine. A regular spread would be like : N > > H > > I > > X , this set goes more like N > > > H > > > I > > > I > X. The gaps between each diff is just larger than normal. As you can see, the gap from Hard to Insane is a bit large too, despite the star rating being small. Hard introduces basic doublet rhythm and light 1/4's. Insane uses full 1/4 patterning but in a very introductory manner, and very rarely uses polarity shifts. The SV increases a lot to introduce basic alternator mechanics, though you could at this point play the map regularly, and aren't really forced to specifically alternate due to polarity shifts. The gap from Insane to Expert is also similarly larger than normal since apple introduces 1/4 circle-jump patterns and sharp angles. The major difference between Insane and Expert is that on Expert, you are forced to alternate due to the complex rhythm choice. And this ultimately prepares the player for the highest diff. Insane and Expert are a lot harder than their star ratings imo. The spread should look more like 2.00 > 3.4 > 4.8 > 6.0 > 6.7 or something, if you considered the actual difficulty of Insane/Expert.

I disagree still. I think the flow is fine there. The way it's set up, 03:19:725 (6,1) - creates a strong leftward and clockwise flow anyways so going into 3, with knowledge of 4's position, it creates a counterclockwise flow. We are assuming players will drift after hitting the head since this is alternator style.

Visualization of the flow. It's only rough, but accounts for expected direction of drift, as well as length of drift before the player switches from playing out the slider (particularly in slider 3) to going towards the circle. Blue color also represents the places where the player is expected to speed up, relative to the motion here. Because i'm utilizing 1/4 circle to slider (or just circle to object jumps in general) you also have to take into account the fact that during this phase, players will be forced to move even faster than they normally would if they were playing 1/4 slider to object jumps. This also affects the flow because it affects the degree to which someone is expected to drift, and the time (or lack of) it takes for the player to switch momentum from drifting after clicking the slider head, to moving in another direction. So for example 1>2 I can expect the player to take longer to adjust, playing this pattern, and I can expect the player to play out slider 1 fully and move towards circle 2 at a normal rate. I can expect the player to make a conscious effort to increase their movement from 2>3 so the flow here is sharper. I can also expect players to move rightward and drift slightly because while the movement from 2>3 is nearly vertical, the speed of the transition from 1>2>3 means the player has momentum moving rightward that was naturally built from playing 1>2 (the more the player played out slider 1, the more their momentum would be going into circle 2, and the more force they would be exerting going rightward). Of course, if you played slider 1 as a kickslider and just stayed at the head, this drift won't affect you, but this pattern is mapped under the expectation that people will play it out, and as a result, the quick downward movement from 2>3 leaves less time than normal for a player to fix their momentum. It's why 3>4 makes sense in my head because the player will be able to continue their rightward motion but will shift their momentum this time from moving downward to moving upward. 3>4 is a slider > object jump so I an expecting players to have more time to jump to 4 so on the visual, I've given more leeway for players to move around the area to the right of slider 3.

I think that covers it more or less. Alternator style flow analysis is actually quite rich and there's a lot of room for different interpretations, definitely. I've laid out my assumptions and expectations from the player, so maybe these expectations might not be entirely true for you. I'm confident in saying my expectation will hold true for most players though.

It's still undermapped but now theres no clicking rhythm involved when you hear the 1/6. I think the rhythm simplification here is fine now.

It's different from earlier and makes the second part feel more intense which fits the song better.

I think players can appreciate this instead of the boring rhythm again and again.
