First mania map, goal is to improve mapping skills and maybe push towards approval~!

self modding log
19/02/2017 - Fixed tags
- Added in some small SV changes in the slider parts.
- Fixed some double notes.
- Changed some posistions of notes.
- Applied everything from AiMod.

20/02/2017 - Redone some hold sections all over the map.

24/02/2017 - Changed od from 7.5 > 8.
- Changed difficulty name from "Memory" > "Instinct".

25/02/2017 - First swing at hitsounding.

26/02/2017 - I redone hitsounds now as I got a bit more knowledge from them by Evening, mainly hitsounded the drum and snare sound throughout the song

13/05/2017 - decided to put more notes on the drum sound in the Kiaimode parts to change it up ever so slightly, done after consideration of Rivals_7's mod and feedback from 2 testplayers

03/02/2018 - well lets do a bit of work on this again, slightly changed up some notes and added some LN's for more diversity

Mistake 1
00:11:808 - 00:34:665 -- Ok so pretty much the mistake here was NOT the LN but the order how you placed it...Furthermore you placed 2 LN in each column witch is ok i guess solid mapping...however i decided to show you what you could done better with LN also within those timing you can hear 2nd layout as well witch means either you avoided that or you didn't hear that part ?!

Optional FIX: A) How should look like without 2nd layout: https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/7372495 this is a mix of trill LN and Stairs LN in 1/4 pattern...to explain when sound starts form dot A you don't necessary need to hold that LN until that same sound ends on dot B in single column...What did i done here as the sound goes you switch finger (trill) however notice that there are not breaks for example i started from time 00:11:808|1 LN and the 2nd one follows that same sound 00:11:897|2 as long as note is placed on sound (Does not matter how many (in this case)) its ok you can use whatever technique you like its ok i personally perfer this part a bit aggro style 1/4 this LN edit is not too hard its around 3.6* in my opinion.If you chose this case plz continue doing the same until 00:34:665 just map here 00:28:951 a wall https://osu.ppy.sh/ss/7372682 and on red continue with LN, oh and on end 00:34:665|1,2,4 add tripple

I did had the idea to add in the jacks, but I felt it would be more fitting to have these as current sections as a rest, I didn't want to push the difficulty too too much for now. But I will still consider your options and also will test around more with that and then either give a final update to this, for now they are left as they were and no changes have been made, but if I do end up redoing these I will use option B OR a complete diffrent remap. thanks for the input on these parts tho!

Rather interesting song choice and me being rather late

00:36:094 (36094|1,36094|0) - Not sure too sure what is this chord for? seems like you do use chords for the psytrance kicks later on but this doesn't really seem to match any other special instrumentals

00:46:094 (46094|3) - Rather than doing 1/1 finish and claps, try this:
This is a general comment for all hitsounds


When you select a note, you can change its sampleset on the top left corner of the editor, there are 3 total default sample sets in osu!, drum, normal, and soft.
As for auto, it relies on the timing point sampleset you are currently working with:

A semi-decent chart of what sounds samples produce

normal-hitnormal: You can most likely hear this since it's the base hitsounding for your map right now
normal-hitclap: A louder and sharper clap than soft-hitclap
normal-hitfinish: A cymbal with a light bass kick
normal-hitwhistle: A whistle

soft-hitnormal: Soft cymbal
soft-hitclap: Softer than normal-hitclap
soft-hitfinish: A cymbal
soft-hitwhistle: A jingle

drum-hitnormal: Probably a plastic bag hit by something
drum-hitclap: Low tom
drum-hitwhistle: uh idk
drum-hitfinish: A lower tom????

00:46:451 (46451|2) - this is snare, you can try to use a normal/softhit-clap for this
00:46:987 (46987|1) - this is a bass kick, you can try to use drum-hitclap/finish
00:47:165 (47165|1) - same for the snare

Usually people use important samples since osu doesn't have much samples to work with, either way, I think it fits the song better if you tried to match the music instrumentals with the hitsounds

00:46:094 (46094|3) - I'm personally not too sure what these LNs are for, they look kinda inconsistent if you're mapping it to the synths in the song as you missed quite a bit of synth pitch changes (eg. 00:48:237 (48237|3) - 00:51:094 (51094|0) - 01:02:522 (62522|1) - and so on...)
I found it rather odd that you mapped one of it but not the others i mentioned above (00:59:665 (59665|1) - )

Applied everything and remapped the guitar solo mentioned in ur mod, Would love you ( more then I already am if you could review that part again ( I remapped it from 05:08:951 (308951|0) - to 05:26:094 (326094|2) -

For the Kiai section I removed all the triple notes this is to fix the inconsistancy and also make it a bit easier on the player, the triples only shown up in the kiai mode sections which some of my testplayers even found disoriantating the first time they played it, since it was mentioned in here aswell I decided to fully remove them and keep it at Double notes, I hope these sections will now be easier to read and understand

I will be doing some more research and will also mess around more with the hitsounds before redoing them but I do thank you alot of giving me a brief explanation on them! :idea:

Make it a triple note for cymbal and only double note for bass, kick, clap at first I did a time stamp for where to put and where not to, but osu! decided to logged me out before I can post...

What I meant by is that you need to put three notes heaviness for cymbal (example: 01:20:379 here have cymbal but you only put two)
and for bass sound just do two notes (example: 02:47:522 here you put three, but I think two is enough)
Do this for the entire map
