  2. 00:06:529 why is there a one tick long kiai time here? remove
  3. 00:12:683 (1,3) - I assume these are mapped to the instrument (synth) but imo they could be 1/2 sliders (plus note) mapped to the lyrics. The first slider has the "na" of "hanabi" on the red tick, and the second slider has the "ro" of "kurokami" on the red tick. I personally think these should be mapped
  4. 00:14:414 why isn't there a triple here? You said earlier that the beats are strong enough to warrant those notes, why is an obvious triple left out?
  5. 00:15:568 put a note here, the sound here is the same you mapped on the earlier combo
  6. 00:27:299 (2,3,4) - this looks boring, I think jumps that go either straight up&down or sideways (x y) make for a very uninspiring mapping. Tbh I have the same complaint on this 00:14:799 (3,4,5,6) - but at least that's a full square - you should try to map them in a more interesting way
  7. 00:18:068 (1) - not a perfect blanket, turn off grid snap when adjusting these sliders. Use the approach circle of the note you're blanketing as a reference point to your blanket, as someone else pointed out earlier

Well I see you were asking for a BN check but I think this mapset needs a bit of more mods since there are some things that could be polished more. owo For example, what about adding more hitsounds in the difficulty? A stanza of claps every 2 and 4 tick could fit well the beatmap. Poke me if you need further assistance with this.

[ General]
  1. Inconsistency in Countdown: In this hint, if you decided to leave the countdown on the Kawaii and Normal difficulties, consider setting for the East too. o: I'd rather go for removing this option since it's pretty awkward to play.
  2. Inconsistency in tags: For rankable purposes, the information you add on tags should be consistent on all difficulties since it makes easier to way to look at your beatmap in the forum list. For this, make sure that the Kawaii difficulty has "Kawaii Cute Cat Neko" over the tag field.
  3. Unused hitsounds: if you're not using any of the following hitsounds on the map, please consider to remove them because it's unrankable to have unused files in the beatmap's folder:

[ Normal] This normal plays better as an advanced since it's currently harder for a Normal due to the spacing and the overall overlaps you decided to map here. Consider renaming it to Advanced if you agree. :3
  1. The approach rate is rather high compared to the standard way to place the AR. According to the wiki, it would be way better if you reduced it until 5 or even lower since this difficulty plays odd with the current approach rate.
  2. Spacing should be consistent through the notes: If you're aiming this to be a normal, please make sure the distance of all note are the same. A pro-tip to fix this is to setup a standard Distance Snap by pressing the key "Y" to not violate this rule. Some of the inconsistencies are listed below this box. Make sure to check them up and fix the spacing among them respectively:

Hence, we should be careful at making such as overlaps or stacks while mapping because it can become very difficult for them to read those objects due to the transition isn't clear and might turn uneven for them. Here I pointed out some examples of what you could do to avoid these awkward flows:
    1. 00:00:376 (1,2,3,4,5) - what you have - what it could be. While it's not a bad flow the oine you have, I think the motion of the beginning is rather weird to play. Instead of making this linear motion, we can try out a different style of note-placement to give players the idea of variation without altering the rhythm.
    2. 00:10:376 (3,4,5,1) - what you have - what it could be. As I already said, not a bad flow but I think we can go for different note-placement to give different transitions to this difficulty.
    3. 00:28:068 (1,2,3,4,1) - Actually I just wanted to highlight how these flow. Really nice design of this pattern!
[ Kawaii] Frankly speaking, I really liked how this difficulty played since most of the flows were intuitive and did flow well according to what the song offers. Nonetheless, in terms of rhythm, we should keep an eye on these following issues:
  1. First and the foremost, we should keep in mind this the highest difficulty of the set so we shouldn't allow notes to be overmapped since there's currently a big gap from the Normal to this difficulty. A spread that really doesn't take account to how the difficulties are supposed to be labeled according to the grade of difficult. Thus, to fix this, I suggest to avoid overusing triplets in the kiai pattern to keep consistency in the way they transit to each pattern. This means to remove 00:21:049 (5) - 00:24:126 (5) - 00:24:510 (8) - 00:29:126 (7) - 00:30:856 (5) - For further assistance, try to put the Playback Rate to 50% to listen to the main spots where a triplet truly deserves to be there.
  2. 00:32:683 (4) - Add new combo here to keep consistency in the way you managed the combo every new stanza over this difficulty.
  3. 00:00:760 (2) - What about doing Ctrl + G here to avoid the weird flow? As it is now, it doesn't make an intuitive motion because the jump seems unfitting to the segment in matter.

These mods might be quite short as I'm not the best modder and also the song is well.. like 30 seconds long. But I will try to provide as much feedback as I can!

[General]
  1. This is only for the Easy difficulty, but occasionally the DS between certain objects changes for no real reason. Consistency is key for lower difficulties! 00:10:376 (4,1) - this is just one example, they're easy to spot out though.
  2. The mapset in its entirety would greatly benefit (in my opinion) changing the flow and making a bunch of fun blankets. The current shapes of sliders are very firm and rigid, so playing around with more curves and shapes might make for a better experience for a new player. This isn't saying that you should remap it all, just maybe think about having some fun with the shapes and changing the flow of things!
  3. I'll provide an example or two of questionable flow in each mod, but take them with a grain of salt. Just an idea of how you could improve further.
[Easy]
  1. 00:14:222 (1) - Maybe shorten this into a 3/4 slider and make it a repeater? That way you'd be covering all the vocals!
  2. Flow examples: 00:10:376 (4,1) -
[Advanced]
  1. Maybe consider restructuring your NCs in the beginning to look something similar to this? I find the NC for one note 00:03:452 (1) - to be sorta strange
  2. 00:00:760 (2,3) - I would personally stack the 3 on top of the 2 here. Reason being I think that it might be easier for a new player to read the two stacked single notes instead of reacting to a circle and then another circle stacked on a slider
  3. 00:03:452 (1,1) - Imo the spacing on these is kinda big and could be nerfed

- Why are the hitsounds set to S:C1 when there are no custom hitsounds in the mapset? Consider either adding some custom hitsound samples, or changing the hitsound sample set back to default! :)

- On all difficulties, there's an inherited point at 00:00:376 - , which is 1x SV, consider removing that inherited point and changing the volume on the timing point to 60% instead, since 1x SV is the default SV for the timing point as well, making the inherited point pretty much unnecessary.

- There's no preview point, consider adding one at 00:18:741 - (blue tick before chorus is common to do) (Applies to all diffs!)

- A very common background size is 1366x768, which I assume you could try to find instead of 1228x767 which you're using atm :3

- The spread is a little weird. The gaps seem surprisingly large considering the "Kawaii" diff almost plays like a light insane, while the gap is also pretty big between the Advanced and Easy. You could, if you want, create a normal difficulty that goes between the Advanced and Easy, so the spread is a little better.

- - When it comes to NC's, for the Easy, NC every 2nd measure (every 2nd big white tick), and don't focus on the patterns, since it throws the newbie players off a lot more than it helps :3 (Example of an NC that's odd, is 00:08:068 (1) - in the Easy, since it's 1 measure after the previous NC, while the NEXT NC is 2 measures later. So yeah, try to do some NC reworks to the EASY diff, poke me if you need some help with this :D

Easy

Overall, I feel that there are some aesthetics that need a few remaps, which are hard to mod away without changing the entire map in the process :3 I'll mention a few of these issues below:
00:15:760 (2,3,1) - Here you'd be able to benefit very well from doing something like a "Copy-pastey" type of pattern, where you copy-paste the first slider (2) and rotate it 120 degrees to form (3), and then copy paste THAT slider, and rotate THAT 120 degrees to form a triangular pattern or something similar. Keep in mind that this is (obviously), not the only thing you can do, there are many options, but try to have aesthetics and pattern in mind when adding notes and sliders :)
00:00:376 (1,2,1,2) - The angles seem very random; While they play fine, they aren't aesthetically pleasing to look at, so consider making a certain blankety type pattern or something completely different; whatever floats yer boat.

^ These subjective ideas are things that could be applied to other patterns as well by self-modding your map. Look at every pattern, and as soon as you find something you don't like, discard the pattern and rework it.
Also, keep in mind that all three diffs could easily benefit from some extra thoughtout patterns as well, so try to apply this mindset to all diffs to the best of your ability :)

I must say though, that the map rhythmically is very straight forward, and doesn't seem to have that many issues, if any; so when the patterning is on point, you have yourself a very nice Easy diff :3
Poke me if you want some ideas for rhythm/aesthetics :)

Advanced

The main problem in this difficulty is the fact that everything (except stacks) needs the same DS (An idea is 1,3x) (apart from a few exceptions which don't really seem to apply to this song, due to it being so short) The reason for this is that it's an Advanced difficulty. You start doing stuff like jumps on a Hard diff. So yeah, fix every DS inconsistency you can find :)

Apart from that, here's some suggestions:
00:04:414 (3,1) - Here there's a rhythmical problem. From 3, the music is prolonged untill 00:04:702 - , so consider a long slider from 00:04:414 - to 00:04:702 - and then a single tap on 00:04:799 - .
00:12:683 (1,2,3,4,5) - Example of a place where the DS is inconsistent (goes from 1,3x to 1,45x)

The rest of my rhythmical ideas are purely subjective, and you'll probably change a few things from fixing the DS, so I won't go too much into that :).

Kawaii

00:03:452 (1,2) - I feel that these should be 1/1 single taps (Aka ONLY the slider starts) due to the music doing small "break" sections.
00:14:222 (1,2,3,4,5) - I find it a little odd that you switch to the vocals so suddenly (And add a break after it), when it seems that you were following the music up untill 00:11:529 (2) -. Consider doing a few adjustments.
00:31:145 (1) - Single tap thing again (Could be stacked on 00:31:722 (2) - 's slider start).

All of your objects in higher difficulty are grid snapped at size 1(largest), try reducing grid size (view->grid level->3~4), it allows you to place object more precisely. it's not requirement, but it sometimes helps

  2. only this diff got an entirely different combo colour set.

  4. 00:01:914 (1,2) - your note density goes down all of a sudden. there's not enough differences for you to do that, to be honest.
  5. 00:07:491 - a drum got skipped.
  6. 00:07:683 - still, the note density suddenly goes up from here. any reason for that?
  7. 00:08:645 - I can't understand why this vocal was ignored when some less important places got covered, like 00:07:876 - .

I'd rather give some suggestions for this.
  1. Too repetitive. After the kiai starts, you tried to focus on the background samples ONLY, which makes the map extremely repetitive. If possible, making some changes for vocal is a good idea. (for example, add a note on 00:22:202 -, or start a slider at 00:23:068 - ...etc.)
  2. Lack of varieties. There are only simple triples for the 1/4, but you can do much more than that.
    examples

    first two can be done on triples, and the last two can be done on vocals (like 00:28:068 (1,2) - )
  3. 00:29:606 - If I were you I would start the long slider here.
  4. 00:31:049 - this place deserves a note too.

  2. About the skin : Skin is nice, but in the file of the map, everything is not necessary.
    You can remove : comboburst-5 and comboburst-6 because, the Hard has 163x. ~117 for the easy and ~140 for the normal.
    A comboburst is at 30x - 60x - 100x and 150x (ect..) so your map dosn't need those comboburst (comboburst-5 and comboburst-6)
    Also, all the "ranking-C-small, blablabla" aren't necessary. The skin is only aviable on your map, and not in the beatmap selector.
  3. Timing looks kida good.
  4. I don't think that so many sliderticks are neccessary in the easy, imo, maybe you can fix it. (imo don't forget)

The timing is off by 2 deciseconds, the offset is 356 instead of 376, yeah theres a little tick on the Canadian counter there now because i read that you dont prioritize timing as much as aesthetics (I dont actually know if thats from me lol). The timing is literally everything, if its off by 2 deciseconds like it is right now it makes it insanely more unplayable.

The skin isnt good, it looks like a skin from 2010, there are also tons of elements that are in here for no reason, these should all be removed

  • section pass/fail textures (there are no breaks)
    All of the hit300 textures (not practical for the game in general, if you wish to keep them make them very small)
    Every texture related to out of play menus (menu-back, mod/options buttons, star etc)
    The skip buttons (theres nothing to skip)
    playfield (obsolete for at least 2 years)
I dont know anything about ctb, its the only mode i dont play, so i cant say anything about the skinning for that.
Replace the 50/100 textures with these (right click -> save, im not insulting your intelligence or anything some people dont know thats all


I SSed/fced the first 2 diffs hddthr easily but i couldnt get more than a C on kawaii.

Take a look at this, its super helpful for learning aesthetics and playable/rankable patterns, because jump patterns are what make a map look good and play good, i sucked ass until recently but all of a sudden my friends who have been playing a years worth of crap maps from me are praising me because i read this stuff (also some help from another mapper) (this is starting to sound like one of those free money system ads lol) this is the map theyre praising btw, scroll down to see the first impressions box.
There also shouldnt be patterns of 1/4 that contain more than 3 notes in a 3 star diff, save that for 4 stars.
